When a visitor from Albania has run out of extension options, a a2a visa change is the practical answer: a short flight out, a new visa issued while you wait, and a return within hours. At White Sky Travel we book the return flight, file the new visa as soon as your exit stamp is recorded, and keep in touch on WhatsApp from check in to arrival.
In short: Albania passport holders pay AED 1,550 for a a2a visa change, which covers the return flight from Dubai, the 60 day single entry visa and our coordination, with most travellers back in Dubai within six to twelve hours.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
How a a2a visa change works
A a2a visa change is simply a controlled exit followed by a fresh entry. Immigration only links a new visa to a Albania passport once the holder has left the UAE, which is why the flight is essential. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. The usual routing from Dubai is to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha, and most travellers are back in the arrivals hall at Terminal 2 within six to twelve hours of departure.
There is also a bus option to Oman, but it takes a full day or more and includes an overnight stay. Flying is the more expensive choice, but it is faster and far more comfortable for Albania families, older passengers and busy professionals.
Is a a2a visa change the right option for you?
A a2a visa change is a fallback, because the UAE allows visit visa extension without exit in many cases. For Albania citizens, the following circumstances call for a a2a visa change:
- You have used every in country extension available. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days.
- Your employer has cancelled your residence visa. Cancellation papers cannot be extended, so a a2a visa change converts you to a 60 day tourist visa.
- The expiry date has passed. Extension is no longer possible, so a a2a visa change after paying any fine is the way forward.
- You hold a permit that is not extendable from inside the UAE. Send us a photo of your visa on WhatsApp and we will advise the correct route for a Albania passport.
Overstay fines and why you should book early
The overstay fine in the UAE is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly to tourist, visit and residence visas in every emirate. Visitors do not receive any grace days, and the fine runs from the first day of overstay. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before they can leave. A a2a visa change booked ten days before expiry costs exactly the same as one booked on the last day, so we recommend contacting us when you still have 10 to 15 days remaining.

How much does a a2a visa change cost?
Our a2a visa change package is a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa plus a flydubai return flight, priced at AED 1,550. There is one rate for both tourist visa renewals and residence cancellation cases. The amount includes the flight, the government visa fee and our support throughout the day.
- New UAE tourist visa: 60 days, single entry
- Airline: flydubai, departing and returning at Dubai Terminal 2
- How you get it: a PDF copy on WhatsApp while you wait at the transit airport
- Help: a dedicated consultant on WhatsApp for the whole process
- Cost: AED 1,550 for each adult passenger
A 30 day a2a visa change is not available through us because the processing cost is similar and the value is poorer than the 60 day visa. A few nationalities pay an additional AED 100 for longer processing. We check the position for Albania passports and tell you upfront. If you have overstayed, the fine is paid directly to immigration and is not included in the AED 1,550.
A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is separate from the visa price, it is returned after you exit the UAE at the end of your stay, and we confirm the amount for Albania passports on WhatsApp before you pay anything.
Pay in instalments
Residents of the UAE who book on behalf of Albania visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
a2a visa change documents for Albania passport holders
Message us these items on WhatsApp and we will normally confirm your eligibility within an hour:
- A clear scan of your Albania passport, both the data page and the back cover. Missing back covers cause most resubmissions.
- At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- Whatever permit you currently hold: the tourist visa copy or the residence cancellation paper.
A bank statement covering six months is required for certain passports. Where Albania citizens are affected, the statement of a family member living in the UAE is accepted. Bear in mind that immigration officers sometimes ask arriving passengers to show they can fund their stay, so keep a card or cash accessible. Before the flight we will send you a link to the guarantee form at applyvisa.app, which takes a few minutes to complete.
The a2a visa change process from start to finish
The day before you fly
After verification we book flydubai, send your ticket and confirm that you have no unpaid fines on the GDRFA or ICP system. If you are within your visa validity, the airport stage costs nothing extra. Choose a Monday to Thursday departure. Friday flights carry a risk of weekend delays, since Saturday and Sunday are non working days for government offices.
Departure from Dubai
Reach Terminal 2 at Dubai International about five hours early, check in with flydubai and ask for the outbound and return boarding passes together. WhatsApp us photos of both boarding passes before you go through immigration. Once immigration records your exit, your old visa closes and we file the new application immediately.
The waiting period
The hop to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha takes close to an hour. You stay in the international transit zone, so no visa for Oman, Kuwait or Qatar is required. Approval usually arrives within hours, and you receive the visa PDF on WhatsApp. Should a security check be triggered, expect 24 to 48 hours. The airline lets you wait airside and we stay on WhatsApp until the visa is issued.
Returning to Dubai
With the visa PDF on your phone, the eGate at Terminal 2 gives you a fast entry. If approval has not come through yet, skip the eGate, approach a manual counter and stay in the waiting area until we send the PDF. Validity runs for 60 days from your arrival.
Should Albania travellers extend, fly or take the bus?
If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. Once extension is off the table, the a2a visa change is the better option, giving 60 days for AED 1,550. The Dubai to Oman bus is the budget option, starting from AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes one to two days with an overnight stay. For the majority of travellers from Albania, the a2a visa change is the more comfortable and predictable route.

What can go wrong and how to avoid it
- Late bookings. Demand spikes at Eid, in December and in January, so start early.
- Passport validity under six months. Renew before you travel, as immigration will not issue a visa against a short validity passport.
- Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Albania passport exactly, including middle names.
- Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before travel, or you will be stopped at immigration.
- Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
- Past visa violations. Be open with us so that we can advise whether a a2a visa change is likely to succeed.
Albania passport a2a visa change FAQ
How long does a a2a visa change take for a Albania passport?
Most Albania travellers are back within six to twelve hours. A security check can extend this to 24 to 48 hours, during which you may wait at the airport.
Can I do this more than once?
There is no fixed limit, but every application is assessed on its own and repeated back to back changes attract closer scrutiny. Most of our clients do one or two before moving to a residence visa or leaving the UAE.
Is a a2a visa change possible for cancelled residents?
Absolutely. Cancelled residents from Albania are converted to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change at the standard AED 1,550.
Where does the flight go?
The destination is usually Muscat, though Kuwait City and Doha are also used. All three allow a same day turnaround.
Do Albania passport holders need an Oman visa for this?
No. You remain airside at the transit airport, so no visa for that country is needed.
What about children on Albania passports?
Yes. Children require individual tickets and visas, and we prepare a single quote for the whole family.
What if my visa is not approved?
Refusal is rare but final. You would need to travel elsewhere and the visa fee is retained by the authorities. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.
Is this an official process?
Yes, completely. It follows standard immigration procedure, and a licensed agency such as ours submits the application through the proper system.
