- Book your a2a visa change with White Sky Travel
For travellers from Brunei, a a2a visa change means leaving the UAE on a short flight and coming back the same day with a brand new 60 day tourist visa. Our team books the flight, lodges the visa application at the right moment and guides you on WhatsApp through every stage of the day.
Quick answer: a a2a visa change for a Brunei passport costs AED 1,550 flat, includes a flydubai return ticket and a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa, and normally takes six to twelve hours from departure to re entry.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
What is a a2a visa change?
A a2a visa change is an exit and re entry. The rule is that the applicant, in this case a Brunei passport holder, must be abroad when the new visa is processed. A flydubai rotation to a nearby GCC airport is the fastest way to do it. Most Brunei travellers fly from Dubai Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha and are back in Dubai the same day.
A bus visa change through Oman exists as well, but it costs a night away and a much longer day. The flight route is pricier than the bus, but it saves an entire day and works better for families, seniors and people who cannot take time off.
Who from Brunei needs a a2a visa change?
Most 30 day and 60 day UAE visit visas can now be extended from inside the country, so a a2a visa change is not always necessary. These are the situations where Brunei travellers should book one:
- All your extensions are used up. The UAE allows a 30 day visa to be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, and total stay cannot go beyond 120 days.
- Your UAE residence visa has been cancelled. A cancelled residency cannot be extended, so we convert your status to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change.
- The expiry date has passed. Extension is no longer possible, so a a2a visa change after paying any fine is the way forward.
- Your entry stamp is one that immigration does not extend, which applies to some on arrival and multiple entry visas. We can confirm the rules for Brunei passports on WhatsApp.
The 2026 rule every Brunei visitor should know
Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. There is no grace period on tourist and visit visas, so the fine starts the day after expiry. If the overstay passes 30 days, an additional exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 is required. Because the fee is the same whenever you book, the smart move is to reach out while 10 to 15 days remain on your visa.

a2a visa change price for Brunei passport holders
We offer one product: a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa with a flydubai return ticket for AED 1,550. The price is the same whether you are changing from a tourist visa or converting a cancelled residence visa. It covers the airline ticket, the visa fee and our coordination before, during and after the flight.
- Visa type: 60 days, single entry
- Ticket: flydubai return from Dubai International Terminal 2 to a nearby GCC airport
- Visa delivery: PDF sent to you on WhatsApp once immigration approves
- Help: a dedicated consultant on WhatsApp for the whole process
- Fee: AED 1,550 per adult traveller
We do not offer a 30 day a2a visa change. A 30 day visa costs nearly the same to process and gives you half the time, so the 60 day option is better value in every case we see. A few nationalities pay an additional AED 100 for longer processing. We check the position for Brunei passports and tell you upfront. Fines for overstaying are cleared by the passenger at the airport and sit outside the package price.
For a limited set of nationalities a refundable deposit is requested. It sits apart from the AED 1,550, comes back to you after your final exit, and we confirm whether it applies to Brunei citizens before booking.
Instalment options
UAE residents booking a a2a visa change for a family member or friend from Brunei can spread the AED 1,550 using Tabby with up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable terms, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month plans depending on the issuing bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp.
Paperwork for a a2a visa change
Share these four items on WhatsApp and we will confirm whether we can proceed, typically within the hour:
- Passport scan showing the front page and the back cover. A missing back cover is the most common reason an application is returned, so please include both.
- Six months minimum validity from your flight date, two blank pages, and a passport in clean condition.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- The existing tourist visa PDF or, for cancelled residents, the cancellation document.
Some nationalities may be asked for a six month bank statement, and where that applies to a Brunei passport a UAE based family member’s statement can be submitted on your behalf. UAE immigration may also ask arriving travellers to show proof of funds on entry, so carry a card or cash that demonstrates you can support your stay. Before the flight we will send you a link to the guarantee form at applyvisa.app, which takes a few minutes to complete.
What happens on the day
Three to five days ahead
We confirm your flydubai flight, share the ticket and remind you to settle any overstay fine through the GDRFA or ICP app. With a valid visa, no payment is due at the airport. Avoid Fridays. If a security check is triggered on a Friday, approval may slip past the weekend when offices are closed.
At the airport
Reach Terminal 2 at Dubai International about five hours early, check in with flydubai and ask for the outbound and return boarding passes together. Send us a picture of each boarding pass on WhatsApp straight away. Your exit stamp ends the current visa, and we lodge the fresh visa the instant the exit appears in the system.
In Muscat, Kuwait or Doha
You will be in the air for about an hour. You stay in the international transit zone, so no visa for Oman, Kuwait or Qatar is required. Most applications clear within a few hours, and the approved visa reaches your WhatsApp as a PDF. If your application is referred for a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours. Both flydubai and Air Arabia allow passengers to wait at the airport until the visa is approved, and we stay in contact throughout.
Returning to Dubai
Holding the approved PDF, you may pass through the Terminal 2 eGate. Should the visa still be pending on landing, avoid the eGate, use the manual counters and wait in the Terminal 2 holding area until we confirm. The visa clock starts on the date of re entry.
A2A versus extension versus bus
Where an extension is still possible, take it: the in country option costs AED 1,200 for 30 days and requires no flight. When you can no longer extend, a a2a visa change provides twice the stay of an extension for AED 1,550. The Dubai to Oman bus is the budget option, starting from AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes one to two days with an overnight stay. For the majority of travellers from Brunei, the a2a visa change is the more comfortable and predictable route.

What can go wrong and how to avoid it
- Late bookings. Demand spikes at Eid, in December and in January, so start early.
- Short passport validity. Applications on passports with under six months remaining are refused.
- Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Brunei passport exactly, including middle names.
- Unpaid fines. Immigration will not let you board with outstanding overstay fines, so check and pay through the GDRFA or ICP app before you reach the airport.
- Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
- Undisclosed history. Prior overstays, bans or uncancelled visas can lead to refusal, so share them with us upfront.
Questions Brunei travellers ask us
How many hours does the process take?
Most Brunei travellers are back within six to twelve hours. A security check can extend this to 24 to 48 hours, during which you may wait at the airport.
How many times can a Brunei citizen do a a2a visa change?
No official cap exists, though immigration reviews each case separately and frequent repeats draw more attention. Most Brunei visitors do one or two before obtaining residency or departing.
Can I do a a2a visa change on a cancelled residence visa?
Absolutely. Cancelled residents from Brunei are converted to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change at the standard AED 1,550.
Where does the flight go?
Muscat is the most common, with Kuwait and Doha as alternatives, all within two hours of Dubai.
Is a transit visa required?
Not for a same day return. You do not enter Oman, Kuwait or Qatar; you stay in transit.
What about children on Brunei passports?
Yes. Children require individual tickets and visas, and we prepare a single quote for the whole family.
What if my visa is not approved?
Very few applications are refused. If yours is, the return to Dubai is not possible and onward travel is required. Government visa fees cannot be refunded, so we review your history carefully first.
Is it lawful to do this?
It is fully legal. The visa is issued by the UAE authorities in the normal way; the only difference is that you are outside the country at the time.
