• You have reached the 120 day ceiling after extending a 30 day visa three times or a 60 day visa twice.
• Your employer has cancelled your residence visa. Cancellation papers cannot be extended, so a a2a visa change converts you to a 60 day tourist visa.
• Your visa has already expired. Extensions must be filed before expiry, so once the date has passed the practical solution is to settle the fine and exit through a a2a visa change.

The overstay fine in the UAE is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly to tourist, visit and residence visas in every emirate. How the day unfolds for a Cambodia passport holder

Preparation

We confirm your flydubai flight, share the ticket and remind you to settle any overstay fine through the GDRFA or ICP app. If you are within your visa validity, the airport stage costs nothing extra. Avoid Fridays. If a security check is triggered on a Friday, approval may slip past the weekend when offices are closed.

Leaving the UAE

Arrive at Dubai International Terminal 2 around five hours before departure, check in at the flydubai counter and collect both boarding passes. The waiting period

You will be in the air for about an hour. You remain in the transit area and do not need to clear immigration in Oman, Kuwait or Qatar for a same day return. Arrival at Terminal 2

Once you have the PDF from us, you can use the eGate at Terminal 2 for a quick entry. If approval has not come through yet, skip the eGate, approach a manual counter and stay in the waiting area until we send the PDF. Validity runs for 60 days from your arrival.

A2A versus extension versus bus

If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. Once extension is off the table, the a2a visa change is the better option, giving 60 days for AED 1,550. The bus visa change is cheaper, beginning at AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for tourist visa holders, but it needs one to two days and an overnight stop.
