a2a visa change for Fiji passport

If you hold a Fiji passport and your UAE visit visa is close to expiry, a a2a visa change is the quickest legal route to a fresh 60 day tourist visa. We take care of the flydubai booking, the visa submission and the timing, so Fiji travellers spend the least possible time away from Dubai.

Short version: AED 1,550, one flydubai return flight, one new 60 day single entry tourist visa, and a typical turnaround of six to twelve hours for Fiji citizens doing a a2a visa change.

Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?

Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.

What is a a2a visa change?

At its core, a a2a visa change is a short trip out of the country so that a new visa can be issued. Because the new permit can only be granted to someone who is outside the UAE, Fiji citizens must exit before the visa is approved. A flydubai rotation to a nearby GCC airport is the fastest way to do it. The typical route runs from Dubai International Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha, with a return the same day.

A bus visa change through Oman exists as well, but it costs a night away and a much longer day. A a2a visa change costs more than the bus, yet it saves a day and suits families, older travellers and anyone with work or school commitments in Dubai.

Who from Fiji needs a a2a visa change?

A a2a visa change is a fallback, because the UAE allows visit visa extension without exit in many cases. You will need a a2a visa change on a Fiji passport if any of the following applies:

  • You have used every in country extension available. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days.
  • You are on a cancelled residence visa and want to stay on as a visitor while you find a new job. A a2a visa change gives you a 60 day tourist visa.
  • You missed the extension deadline. With fines already running, a a2a visa change is the fastest way to regularise your status.
  • You entered on a visa type that cannot be extended in country, such as certain on arrival stamps or multiple entry permits. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm which category your Fiji passport falls under.

Overstay fines and why you should book early

UAE authorities charge AED 50 for every day a visit visa remains expired, and the same flat rate applies across all visa types and emirates. There is no grace period on tourist and visit visas, so the fine starts the day after expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit, usually AED 250 to 300, on top of the daily fine. The price does not change with urgency, which is why we suggest starting the process with at least 10 to 15 days remaining.

How much does a a2a visa change cost?

We offer one product: a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa with a flydubai return ticket for AED 1,550. Tourist visa holders and cancelled residents pay an identical amount. It covers the airline ticket, the visa fee and our coordination before, during and after the flight.

  • Visa issued: 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa
  • Flight: flydubai return ticket from Dubai Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha
  • Processing: visa applied while you are outside the UAE and sent to your WhatsApp as a PDF
  • Assistance: WhatsApp support throughout, including on the day of travel
  • Rate: AED 1,550 per person

We only sell the 60 day a2a visa change, since a 30 day visa would cost nearly as much for half the validity. Some nationalities carry an AED 100 surcharge for extended processing; we confirm on WhatsApp whether this applies to Fiji citizens. If you have overstayed, the fine is paid directly to immigration and is not included in the AED 1,550.

A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is separate from the visa price, it is returned after you exit the UAE at the end of your stay, and we confirm the amount for Fiji passports on WhatsApp before you pay anything.

Instalment options

For UAE residents sponsoring a Fiji family member or friend, the AED 1,550 can be split with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. All other applicants receive a secure online payment link.

a2a visa change documents for Fiji passport holders

WhatsApp us the following and expect an eligibility answer within about an hour:

  1. A clear scan of your Fiji passport, both the data page and the back cover. Missing back covers cause most resubmissions.
  2. Passport validity of at least six months from the planned travel date, with at least two blank pages and no damage.
  3. A white background colour photo in passport format, without eyewear, taken recently.
  4. The existing tourist visa PDF or, for cancelled residents, the cancellation document.

A bank statement covering six months is required for certain passports. Where Fiji citizens are affected, the statement of a family member living in the UAE is accepted. Bear in mind that immigration officers sometimes ask arriving passengers to show they can fund their stay, so keep a card or cash accessible. One more step: fill in the guarantee form at applyvisa.app a few days before you fly.

How the day unfolds for a Fiji passport holder

Three to five days ahead

We lock in the flight, forward the ticket on WhatsApp and check that any outstanding fines have been paid online. If you are within your visa validity, the airport stage costs nothing extra. We always advise Fiji travellers to fly Monday to Thursday, because a Friday departure that hits a delay can mean waiting through the Saturday and Sunday weekend.

Departure from Dubai

Reach Terminal 2 at Dubai International about five hours early, check in with flydubai and ask for the outbound and return boarding passes together. WhatsApp us photos of both boarding passes before you go through immigration. Once immigration records your exit, your old visa closes and we file the new application immediately.

In Muscat, Kuwait or Doha

You will be in the air for about an hour. You stay in the international transit zone, so no visa for Oman, Kuwait or Qatar is required. Approval usually arrives within hours, and you receive the visa PDF on WhatsApp. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. Airlines permit you to wait at the airport, and we keep you updated until it clears.

Returning to Dubai

Once you have the PDF from us, you can use the eGate at Terminal 2 for a quick entry. Should the visa still be pending on landing, avoid the eGate, use the manual counters and wait in the Terminal 2 holding area until we confirm. The new 60 day visa starts counting from the day you re enter.

Choosing between a a2a visa change, extension and the Oman bus

If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. Once extension is off the table, the a2a visa change is the better option, giving 60 days for AED 1,550. Travellers on a tight budget sometimes choose the Oman bus, which starts at AED 1,000 for cancelled residents or AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visitors, at the cost of an overnight trip. Most Fiji passport holders find the flight worth the difference for the time it saves.

FlyDubai airport visa renewal in dubai

Why applications get delayed

  • Leaving it to the last minute. Seats disappear around Eid, December and January, so contact us a week or more in advance.
  • Less than six months on the passport. Immigration will not approve a visa in that case, so renew first.
  • Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Fiji passport exactly, including middle names.
  • Overstay fines still due. Pay them in advance through the GDRFA or ICP app.
  • Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
  • Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.

Fiji passport a2a visa change FAQ

How many hours does the process take?

Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.

How often can I repeat a a2a visa change?

No official cap exists, though immigration reviews each case separately and frequent repeats draw more attention. Most Fiji visitors do one or two before obtaining residency or departing.

Does this work after residency cancellation?

Absolutely. Cancelled residents from Fiji are converted to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change at the standard AED 1,550.

What is the destination?

We book flydubai to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha based on seat availability. Each is a short flight with a same day return.

Will I need a visa for the other country?

No. For a same day return you stay in the international transit area and do not pass through the other country’s immigration.

Can my children travel on the same package?

Yes. WhatsApp us all the passports and we will send one price for the family.

What if immigration declines the application?

Refusals are rare. If immigration declines, you cannot re enter the UAE on the return flight and would need to travel onward. Visa processing fees are not refundable because they cover government costs, which is why we assess risk factors such as previous overstays or bans before you pay.

Is this an official process?

Yes. You leave on the current visa and return on a new one granted by UAE immigration. Using a licensed agency keeps the application within official channels.
