When Lithuania passport holders need a a2a visa change

A a2a visa change is a fallback, because the UAE allows visit visa extension without exit in many cases. These are the situations where Lithuania travellers should book one:

• You have used every in country extension available. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days.
• Your UAE residence visa has been cancelled. A cancelled residency cannot be extended, so we convert your status to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change.

The day before you fly

Check in and exit at Dubai Terminal 2

Reach Terminal 2 at Dubai International about five hours early, check in with flydubai and ask for the outbound and return boarding passes together. While you wait abroad

You will be in the air for about an hour. Because you do not leave the airport, Lithuania passport holders need no visa for the transit country. Arrival at Terminal 2

If we have already sent the PDF, go straight to the eGate at Terminal 2. Without the PDF in hand, use a manual immigration counter rather than the eGate and remain in the designated area. Validity runs for 60 days from your arrival.

A2A versus extension versus bus

An in country extension at AED 1,200 for 30 days is the simplest route if you are still eligible. When you can no longer extend, a a2a visa change provides twice the stay of an extension for AED 1,550. The bus to Oman costs less, from AED 1,000 for residence cancellation and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes a day or two and includes a night away. For most Lithuania visitors the flight is the better balance of time, comfort and certainty.

What can go wrong and how to avoid it

• Booking too late. Flights sell out around Eid, December and the January peak, so message us at least a week ahead.
