a2a visa change for Norway citizens

For travellers from Norway, a a2a visa change means leaving the UAE on a short flight and coming back the same day with a brand new 60 day tourist visa. Our team books the flight, lodges the visa application at the right moment and guides you on WhatsApp through every stage of the day.

Quick answer: a a2a visa change for a Norway passport costs AED 1,550 flat, includes a flydubai return ticket and a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa, and normally takes six to twelve hours from departure to re entry.

Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?

Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.

What is a a2a visa change?

A a2a visa change is an exit and re entry. Because the new permit can only be granted to someone who is outside the UAE, Norway citizens must exit before the visa is approved. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. Most Norway travellers fly from Dubai Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha and are back in Dubai the same day.

A bus visa change through Oman exists as well, but it costs a night away and a much longer day. A a2a visa change costs more than the bus, yet it saves a day and suits families, older travellers and anyone with work or school commitments in Dubai.

Is a a2a visa change the right option for you?

Since in country extension exists, a a2a visa change is the right move only when extension is no longer possible. Here is when it becomes the right choice for a Norway passport holder:

  • You have used every in country extension available. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days.
  • Your residency was cancelled and you need more time in the UAE. The only route is a new tourist visa, which a a2a visa change provides.
  • Your visa expired before you applied for an extension. In that case you pay the overstay fine and exit on a a2a visa change.
  • Your visa category is not eligible for extension. We check this for Norway citizens on WhatsApp before you spend anything.

The 2026 rule every Norway visitor should know

The overstay fine in the UAE is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly to tourist, visit and residence visas in every emirate. There is no grace period on tourist and visit visas, so the fine starts the day after expiry. If the overstay passes 30 days, an additional exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 is required. Because the fee is the same whenever you book, the smart move is to reach out while 10 to 15 days remain on your visa.

a2a visa change cost from Dubai for Norway citizens

The package for Norway passport holders is straightforward: AED 1,550 for a 60 day single entry visa and the return flight on flydubai. There is one rate for both tourist visa renewals and residence cancellation cases. The amount includes the flight, the government visa fee and our support throughout the day.

  • New UAE tourist visa: 60 days, single entry
  • Flight included: flydubai round trip from Dubai Terminal 2
  • Processing: visa applied while you are outside the UAE and sent to your WhatsApp as a PDF
  • Support: our consultants on WhatsApp from booking until you clear immigration
  • Fee: AED 1,550 per adult traveller

We only sell the 60 day a2a visa change, since a 30 day visa would cost nearly as much for half the validity. A few nationalities pay an additional AED 100 for longer processing. We check the position for Norway passports and tell you upfront. If you have overstayed, the fine is paid directly to immigration and is not included in the AED 1,550.

A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is separate from the visa price, it is returned after you exit the UAE at the end of your stay, and we confirm the amount for Norway passports on WhatsApp before you pay anything.

Instalment options

For UAE residents sponsoring a Norway family member or friend, the AED 1,550 can be split with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp.

What Norway citizens need to send us

WhatsApp us the following and expect an eligibility answer within about an hour:

  1. Your passport data page plus a photo of the back cover. We ask for both because the back cover is the item most often forgotten.
  2. Six months minimum validity from your flight date, two blank pages, and a passport in clean condition.
  3. A white background colour photo in passport format, without eyewear, taken recently.
  4. Whatever permit you currently hold: the tourist visa copy or the residence cancellation paper.

Depending on nationality, a six month bank statement may be requested. If that applies to Norway applicants, a UAE resident family member can provide theirs instead. UAE immigration may also ask arriving travellers to show proof of funds on entry, so carry a card or cash that demonstrates you can support your stay. We also ask you to complete the short guarantee form at applyvisa.app before travel day.

The a2a visa change process from start to finish

Three to five days ahead

We confirm your flydubai flight, share the ticket and remind you to settle any overstay fine through the GDRFA or ICP app. Travellers whose visa is still valid pay nothing at immigration. Avoid Fridays. If a security check is triggered on a Friday, approval may slip past the weekend when offices are closed.

Check in and exit at Dubai Terminal 2

Arrive at Dubai International Terminal 2 around five hours before departure, check in at the flydubai counter and collect both boarding passes. Photograph both passes and send them to us on WhatsApp. Immigration then stamps you out, which formally ends your current visa, and the moment your exit registers we submit your new visa application.

In Muscat, Kuwait or Doha

The flight takes around one hour. You remain in the transit area and do not need to clear immigration in Oman, Kuwait or Qatar for a same day return. Approval usually arrives within hours, and you receive the visa PDF on WhatsApp. If your application is referred for a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours. Both flydubai and Air Arabia allow passengers to wait at the airport until the visa is approved, and we stay in contact throughout.

Re entry

Once you have the PDF from us, you can use the eGate at Terminal 2 for a quick entry. If the visa is still processing when you land, do not use the eGate; go to a manual immigration counter and wait in the designated area until we confirm approval. Your 60 days begin on the entry date.

Should Norway travellers extend, fly or take the bus?

If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. A a2a visa change steps in when extension ends, and it gives 60 days instead of 30. The Dubai to Oman bus is the budget option, starting from AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes one to two days with an overnight stay. For the majority of travellers from Norway, the a2a visa change is the more comfortable and predictable route.

Why applications get delayed

  • Late bookings. Demand spikes at Eid, in December and in January, so start early.
  • Short passport validity. Applications on passports with under six months remaining are refused.
  • Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Norway passport exactly, including middle names.
  • Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before travel, or you will be stopped at immigration.
  • Believing there is a buffer. There is not, and fines start the day after expiry.
  • Past visa violations. Be open with us so that we can advise whether a a2a visa change is likely to succeed.

Frequently asked questions about a2a visa change for Norway passport

How long does a a2a visa change take for a Norway passport?

Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.

Is there a limit on repeat visa changes?

There is no fixed limit, but every application is assessed on its own and repeated back to back changes attract closer scrutiny. Most of our clients do one or two before moving to a residence visa or leaving the UAE.

Does this work after residency cancellation?

Yes. This is the most common case we handle. Your employer cancels the residency, you receive the cancellation paper, and we convert you to a 60 day tourist visa at the same AED 1,550 rate.

Which country will I transit through?

Muscat is the most common, with Kuwait and Doha as alternatives, all within two hours of Dubai.

Will I need a visa for the other country?

Not for a same day return. You do not enter Oman, Kuwait or Qatar; you stay in transit.

Can my children travel on the same package?

Yes. Children require individual tickets and visas, and we prepare a single quote for the whole family.

What if my visa is not approved?

Very few applications are refused. If yours is, the return to Dubai is not possible and onward travel is required. Government visa fees cannot be refunded, so we review your history carefully first.

Yes. You leave on the current visa and return on a new one granted by UAE immigration. Using a licensed agency keeps the application within official channels.
