For travellers from Solomon Islands, a a2a visa change means leaving the UAE on a short flight and coming back the same day with a brand new 60 day tourist visa. We take care of the flydubai booking, the visa submission and the timing, so Solomon Islands travellers spend the least possible time away from Dubai.
In short: Solomon Islands passport holders pay AED 1,550 for a a2a visa change, which covers the return flight from Dubai, the 60 day single entry visa and our coordination, with most travellers back in Dubai within six to twelve hours.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
What is a a2a visa change?
A a2a visa change works on one principle: you must be outside UAE territory before a new tourist visa can be activated against your passport. The rule is that the applicant, in this case a Solomon Islands passport holder, must be abroad when the new visa is processed. A flydubai rotation to a nearby GCC airport is the fastest way to do it. The usual routing from Dubai is to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha, and most travellers are back in the arrivals hall at Terminal 2 within six to twelve hours of departure.
A bus visa change through Oman exists as well, but it costs a night away and a much longer day. Although a a2a visa change is dearer than the bus option, the time saved makes it the sensible choice for most Solomon Islands visitors.
Is a a2a visa change the right option for you?
Many UAE visit visas can be extended without leaving, which means a a2a visa change is only needed in specific cases. These are the situations where Solomon Islands travellers should book one:
- Your extensions are exhausted: three for a 30 day visa, two for a 60 day visa, with 120 days as the overall limit.
- Your UAE residence visa has been cancelled. A cancelled residency cannot be extended, so we convert your status to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change.
- You missed the extension deadline. With fines already running, a a2a visa change is the fastest way to regularise your status.
- You hold a permit that is not extendable from inside the UAE. Send us a photo of your visa on WhatsApp and we will advise the correct route for a Solomon Islands passport.
Do not wait until the last day
UAE authorities charge AED 50 for every day a visit visa remains expired, and the same flat rate applies across all visa types and emirates. Tourist and visit visas carry no grace period, which means fines begin immediately after the expiry date. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before they can leave. Booking early costs nothing extra, so we advise Solomon Islands travellers to message us with 10 to 15 days left on the current visa.

a2a visa change cost from Dubai for Solomon Islands citizens
At White Sky Travel a a2a visa change costs AED 1,550 and includes the flydubai return ticket and a 60 day single entry tourist visa. The price is the same whether you are changing from a tourist visa or converting a cancelled residence visa. The amount includes the flight, the government visa fee and our support throughout the day.
- Visa issued: 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa
- Ticket: flydubai return from Dubai International Terminal 2 to a nearby GCC airport
- Processing: visa applied while you are outside the UAE and sent to your WhatsApp as a PDF
- Support: our consultants on WhatsApp from booking until you clear immigration
- Fee: AED 1,550 per adult traveller
We only sell the 60 day a2a visa change, since a 30 day visa would cost nearly as much for half the validity. Some nationalities carry an AED 100 surcharge for extended processing; we confirm on WhatsApp whether this applies to Solomon Islands citizens. Fines for overstaying are cleared by the passenger at the airport and sit outside the package price.
Certain passports may be asked for a refundable security deposit. This is not part of the visa fee, it is refunded once you leave the UAE, and we will tell Solomon Islands travellers the exact figure on WhatsApp in advance.
Pay in instalments
UAE residents booking a a2a visa change for a family member or friend from Solomon Islands can spread the AED 1,550 using Tabby with up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable terms, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month plans depending on the issuing bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp.
a2a visa change documents for Solomon Islands passport holders
Share these four items on WhatsApp and we will confirm whether we can proceed, typically within the hour:
- Your passport data page plus a photo of the back cover. We ask for both because the back cover is the item most often forgotten.
- At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- A copy of the visa you are on now, or the official cancellation paper if your residency was cancelled.
Bank statement requirements depend on nationality. Should Solomon Islands be one of the passports that needs one, a relative in the UAE can submit their own statement for you. On arrival, immigration may request evidence of funds, so have a bank card or cash to hand. Please complete the guarantee form at applyvisa.app once we confirm your booking.
How the day unfolds for a Solomon Islands passport holder
The day before you fly
Once your documents are approved we book the flydubai seat, send you the ticket and ask you to clear any fines in the GDRFA or ICP app. With a valid visa, no payment is due at the airport. Choose a Monday to Thursday departure. Friday flights carry a risk of weekend delays, since Saturday and Sunday are non working days for government offices.
Check in and exit at Dubai Terminal 2
Reach Terminal 2 at Dubai International about five hours early, check in with flydubai and ask for the outbound and return boarding passes together. WhatsApp us photos of both boarding passes before you go through immigration. Immigration then stamps you out, which formally ends your current visa, and the moment your exit registers we submit your new visa application.
While you wait abroad
You will be in the air for about an hour. You remain in the transit area and do not need to clear immigration in Oman, Kuwait or Qatar for a same day return. In standard cases the new visa is approved within a few hours and we send the PDF to your WhatsApp before your return flight. If your application is referred for a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours. Both flydubai and Air Arabia allow passengers to wait at the airport until the visa is approved, and we stay in contact throughout.
Back in the UAE
Once you have the PDF from us, you can use the eGate at Terminal 2 for a quick entry. If approval has not come through yet, skip the eGate, approach a manual counter and stay in the waiting area until we send the PDF. Your 60 days begin on the entry date.
A2A versus extension versus bus
Where an extension is still possible, take it: the in country option costs AED 1,200 for 30 days and requires no flight. A a2a visa change steps in when extension ends, and it gives 60 days instead of 30. Travellers on a tight budget sometimes choose the Oman bus, which starts at AED 1,000 for cancelled residents or AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visitors, at the cost of an overnight trip. For most Solomon Islands visitors the flight is the better balance of time, comfort and certainty.

Why applications get delayed
- Booking too late. Flights sell out around Eid, December and the January peak, so message us at least a week ahead.
- Passport validity under six months. Renew before you travel, as immigration will not issue a visa against a short validity passport.
- Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Solomon Islands passport exactly, including middle names.
- Unpaid fines. Immigration will not let you board with outstanding overstay fines, so check and pay through the GDRFA or ICP app before you reach the airport.
- Counting on grace days. Visit visas have no grace period, so act before the printed expiry date.
- Past visa violations. Be open with us so that we can advise whether a a2a visa change is likely to succeed.
Questions Solomon Islands travellers ask us
How many hours does the process take?
Plan for six to twelve hours. In rare cases a security review adds 24 to 48 hours, and both flydubai and Air Arabia let you stay airside until it clears.
How many times can a Solomon Islands citizen do a a2a visa change?
There is no fixed limit, but every application is assessed on its own and repeated back to back changes attract closer scrutiny. Most of our clients do one or two before moving to a residence visa or leaving the UAE.
Can I do a a2a visa change on a cancelled residence visa?
Yes. This is the most common case we handle. Your employer cancels the residency, you receive the cancellation paper, and we convert you to a 60 day tourist visa at the same AED 1,550 rate.
Which airport do I fly to?
Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha, depending on flydubai availability on your chosen date. All are under two hours from Dubai and support a same day return.
Will I need a visa for the other country?
No visa is required because you never clear immigration in the transit country.
Can my children travel on the same package?
Yes. Each child needs their own ticket and visa. Send us the family’s passports on WhatsApp and we will quote for the group.
What if my visa is not approved?
Rejection is uncommon. Should it happen, you would need to fly on to your home country or another destination, and the visa fee is not refundable as it is a government charge. We flag risks before booking so that this does not come as a surprise.
Are visa changes by air allowed?
It is fully legal. The visa is issued by the UAE authorities in the normal way; the only difference is that you are outside the country at the time.
