Bus visa change for Mexico citizens: price, process and documents

If you hold a Mexico passport and your UAE visa is about to expire, a Bus visa change to Oman is the lowest cost way to leave the country and return on a fresh tourist visa. We arrange the round trip coach, your Oman visa, the new UAE visa and every border fee in one package from AED 1,000. This page explains who qualifies, what a Mexico passport holder pays, which days the service runs, what to bring, and how the day unfolds at the border.

In short: Mexico passport holders pay AED 1,000 (cancelled residence or on arrival visa) or AED 1,300 (tourist visa) for a Bus visa change to Oman. The price covers the coach both ways, the Oman visa, the new UAE visa and border fees. Departures run Sunday to Wednesday and the trip takes roughly a day.

Bus visa change explained for Mexico travellers

A Bus visa change works on one principle: you must be outside the UAE before a new tourist visa can be activated, and the Oman land border is the closest place to do that. Because the new permit can only be granted to someone who is outside the UAE, Mexico citizens must cross the border before the visa is approved. The coach takes you from Dubai to the Oman crossing, you enter Oman on the visa we arranged, the new UAE visa is processed, and you come back through the same checkpoint. The whole trip takes about one day, and an optional overnight stay in Oman is available if approval runs late.

Travellers in a hurry can choose the airport to airport route instead, a same day flight for AED 1,550. The coach route is the more affordable choice for Mexico passport holders with a free day and a tight budget.

Who qualifies

The Oman bus route is open to a defined list of nationalities and to specific visa categories. Send us a photo of your Mexico passport and current visa on WhatsApp and we will confirm within the hour whether the bus route is open to you, or whether the airport route or an in country extension is the better option. It is most commonly used by:

  • Visitors on a tourist visa who have reached the 120 day ceiling after extending a 30 day visa three times or a 60 day visa twice.
  • Former residents whose employment visa has been cancelled and who need a tourist visa to remain in the UAE.
  • On arrival visa holders who have reached the limit of their stamp.

The rule every Mexico visitor should know

UAE authorities charge AED 50 for every day a visit visa remains expired, and the same flat rate applies across all visa types and emirates. No grace period applies to visit visas, so the counter starts the very next day. Unpaid fines block the exit, so they must be cleared before travel day. The coach operates Sunday to Wednesday, so book at least 7 to 10 days before your visa runs out.

Oman Bus visa change price for Mexico citizens

The price depends on your current visa status rather than your nationality, though certain passports carry a refundable deposit or surcharge.

  • AED 1,000 if you hold a cancellation paper or an arrival stamp
  • AED 1,300 for visit and tourist visa holders

The package price is all in: transport, Oman visa, UAE visa and border charges. Most Mexico travellers receive a 60 day single entry visa; 30 day availability varies, so confirm with us on WhatsApp. An optional one day stay in Oman can be added for travellers who prefer a night across the border or whose approval runs into the evening. Any overstay fine is settled by you with immigration and is separate from our fee.

Certain passports may be asked for a refundable security deposit. This is not part of the package fee, it is returned once you leave the UAE, and we tell Mexico travellers the exact figure on WhatsApp in advance.

Pay in instalments

For UAE residents sponsoring a Mexico family member or friend, the package can be split with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp.

What Mexico citizens need to send us

Message us these items on WhatsApp and we will normally confirm your eligibility within an hour:

  1. Front page and back cover of the passport, six months validity minimum. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
  2. A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.
  3. A copy of the visa you are on now: tourist visa, arrival stamp, or the official cancellation paper if your residency was cancelled.
  4. A UAE phone number and your current address, used to arrange the coach pick up.

Some nationalities may be asked for a six month bank statement, and where that applies to a Mexico passport a UAE based family member’s statement can be submitted on your behalf. We apply for your Oman visa through the official eVisa system in advance, so you do not need to arrange anything with Omani immigration yourself. Bring your original passport and a bank card or cash, as immigration can request proof of funds when you re enter.

Bus visa change step by step for Mexico travellers

Booking stage

After verification and payment we lodge the Oman eVisa, book your coach seat and send the pick up location and time on WhatsApp. Clear outstanding fines online through GDRFA or ICP ahead of the trip.

On the coach

The coach leaves Dubai early and heads for the Oman border. At the UAE exit counter, immigration stamps you out, which formally ends your current visa, and we submit the new UAE visa application the moment your exit registers in the system. You then enter Oman on the eVisa we arranged.

On the Omani side

Most Mexico applications clear within a few hours, and the approved visa reaches your phone as a PDF. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. In that case the optional overnight stay covers you, and we keep you updated throughout. No agency can guarantee approval; it is immigration’s decision.

Re entry

With the new visa PDF on your phone, you board the return coach and present it with your Mexico passport at the UAE entry counter. Immigration links the visa to your passport and your 60 days begin on the entry date. The trip ends in Dubai the same evening unless you added the overnight stay.

Should Mexico travellers take the bus, fly or extend?

If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. After extensions run out, the bus is the most affordable route to a fresh 60 day visa, with the trade off of a longer day and a limited departure schedule. The airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550, flies any day of the week, and returns you to Dubai within six to twelve hours; it suits families, older travellers and anyone who cannot take a full day off.

Mistakes to avoid on a Bus visa change

  • Booking too late. The coach runs Sunday to Wednesday only and seats fill quickly around Eid, December and January, so message us 7 to 10 days ahead.
  • Passport validity under six months. Renew before you travel, as neither Oman nor UAE immigration will accept a short validity passport.
  • Overstay fines still due. Pay them in advance through the GDRFA or ICP app.
  • Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
  • Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.
  • Forgetting the original passport. Photocopies are not accepted at either border; the physical Mexico passport must travel with you.

Mexico passport Bus visa change FAQ

What is the total time from departure to return?

About one day, including the coach journey, border formalities and the wait for visa approval. If immigration orders a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours, and the optional one day stay in Oman covers that.

How much does a Bus visa change to Oman cost for Mexico citizens?

From AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and on arrival holders, AED 1,300 for tourist visa holders, with everything included. Deposits, where applicable, are confirmed in advance.

When does the coach depart?

Midweek only: Sunday to Wednesday. Book 7 to 10 days ahead to secure a seat before your visa runs out.

Is an Oman visa required?

An Oman visa is needed and is part of the package price. Our team applies through the official eVisa portal in advance.

Is the bus route possible for cancelled residents?

Yes. Send the cancellation document and we process the change to a 60 day tourist visa for AED 1,000.

How often can I repeat the bus trip?

The rules set no maximum, but each new visa is a fresh decision by immigration, and consecutive changes are looked at more carefully.

What if immigration declines the application?

Refusals are rare. If immigration declines, you cannot re enter the UAE on the return coach and would need to travel onward from Oman. Visa processing fees are not refundable because they cover government costs, which is why we assess risk factors such as previous overstays or bans before you pay.

Yes. You leave on the current visa and return on a new one granted by UAE immigration. Using a licensed agency keeps the application within official channels.
