When a Cyprus citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. The fee is AED 1,200 for each 30 day extension, approval normally arrives in two to three working days, and everything is handled on WhatsApp. Read on for the rules that apply to Cyprus passports: cost, number of extensions, timing, documents and the exit routes once the maximum is reached.
In short: Cyprus passport holders pay AED 1,200 for each 30 day Visa extension, approved in two to three working days without leaving the country. Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 120 days maximum. Apply five to seven days before expiry through the agency that issued your visa.
Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.
We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.
How an in country UAE visa extension works
Unlike a visa change, a Visa extension keeps your existing visa and simply adds 30 days to it. Immigration processes the extension under the original issuer’s account and records the new expiry against your Cyprus passport. No flight, no bus and no border: you remain where you are and receive the approval on WhatsApp.
It should not be confused with the airport to airport change or the Oman bus route, which reset you on a new visa after an exit. For Cyprus visitors who still qualify, the extension is the cheapest and least disruptive option, and it is the one we recommend first.
Who from Cyprus can apply for a Visa extension?
Three factors decide whether a Cyprus passport holder can extend: the visa type, the number of extensions already taken, and the issuing agency. We check the position for Cyprus passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.
- Tourist visa holders with extensions remaining: up to three on a 30 day visa and up to two on a 60 day visa.
- Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
- Those whose visa came from White Sky Travel, since extensions run through the issuing account under immigration rules.
Visas issued elsewhere can be extended by that agency; alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or a bus visa change from AED 1,000, each providing a new 60 day visa. Arrival stamps and residency visas are not extendable through an agency.

How much does a Visa extension cost?
We charge AED 1,200 for every 30 day extension regardless of nationality, so Cyprus citizens pay exactly this figure.
- One month visa extension: AED 1,200 for 30 days
- Two month visa extension: AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions
The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Any overstay fine is settled separately with immigration and is not included in the AED 1,200. Compared with the exit routes, the extension is usually the better value for a Cyprus visitor who needs 30 more days, while a new 60 day visa through airport to airport or bus makes more sense when you need the full two months and have no extensions left.
Payment options
If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Cyprus passport, the extension fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.
Documents required for a Visa extension on a Cyprus passport
The document list for an extension is short, because immigration already holds your details from the original visa. Send these on WhatsApp:
- A clear copy of your Cyprus passport, valid for at least six months.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- Your existing visa PDF, which tells us the entry date, expiry and extension count.
You will not be asked for financial documents, a hotel booking or a ticket to extend. Immigration can request further documents at its discretion, and we pass any such request on to Cyprus travellers without delay.
The application process step by step
- Share your documents with us on WhatsApp at +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 with at least five to seven days remaining, and we confirm the same day.
- Make the payment through the link we send. We submit as soon as it is confirmed.
- The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Cyprus applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
- We forward the extension PDF on WhatsApp; the new expiry date is on it, so keep it handy.
Timing your Visa extension
Applications are only accepted while the visa is still valid. Once it expires, extension is no longer possible. With two to three working days of processing and no weekend service, a five to seven day lead time protects Cyprus visitors from missing the deadline. When chaining extensions, start each one a few days early and count your total days from the original entry.
No grace period and the AED 50 daily fine
UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. The overstay fine is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly across every emirate and visa category, from the first day past expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. After expiry the only option is an exit route; we handle the airport to airport change or the Oman bus for Cyprus passports.

What to do after the maximum extensions
Once a Cyprus visitor has used every extension and reached 120 days, exit is mandatory. The choices are an airport to airport change (AED 1,550, same day, flydubai), the Oman bus route (from AED 1,000, about a day), going home and applying afresh, or moving to a residence visa where a sponsor exists. Both exit routes issue a new 60 day tourist visa regardless of which agency issued the original, and we arrange either on WhatsApp.
How to keep your application on track
- Missing the deadline. Once the visa lapses, only an exit route remains.
- Expecting a third party to extend a visa it did not issue, which the system does not allow.
- Forgetting that extensions add to the original stay rather than replacing it.
- A passport expiring soon. Renew it before applying.
- Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.
Cyprus passport Visa extension FAQ
Can I extend my UAE visit visa without exiting on a Cyprus passport?
Yes, without leaving the country. The conditions are an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa, extensions still available, a total stay under 120 days, and processing through the issuing agency.
What are the UAE visit visa extension fees?
AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, the same for every nationality including Cyprus. A two month extension is AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions.
What is the processing time?
Most extensions are approved within two to three working days. Weekends and public holidays are not counted, and immigration may occasionally take longer, so apply five to seven days before expiry.
How many times can a Cyprus citizen extend a UAE tourist visa?
A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days. The maximum continuous stay on any UAE tourist visa is 120 days, after which exit is mandatory.
Who can process my extension?
Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.
Can I stay a few days after expiry?
None. The AED 50 daily fine starts the day after the visa expires, with an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 added after 30 days of overstay.
Can I extend visas for my family together?
Yes. We process extensions for spouses, children and other family members together, and UAE residents booking for family can split the combined total across Tabby, Tamara or a UAE credit card plan.
What if my extension is refused?
Immigration can decline at its discretion, though it seldom does for eligible Cyprus applicants. The fee is not returned on refusal, and an exit route becomes necessary before expiry.
