In short: Malta passport holders pay AED 450 for a 30 day single entry Dubai visa, AED 650 for 60 days single entry, AED 800 for 30 days multiple entry and AED 1,000 for 60 days multiple entry. Approval takes 24 to 72 hours and entry must happen within 60 days of issue.

Do Malta passport holders need a Dubai visa?

The majority of passports require a visa arranged in advance, which is the service described on this page. Certain passports qualify for visa on arrival, and eligibility rules shift from year to year. To be certain about the current rule for Malta citizens, WhatsApp us your passport page and we will check it at no cost.

Malta passport Dubai visa fees

These are our current prices for a Dubai visa on a Malta passport, checked in September 2026:

  • Single entry 30 day visa: AED 450
  • 60 days, single entry: AED 650
  • 30 days, multiple entry: AED 800
  • 60 days, multiple entry: AED 1,000

Thirty days is the minimum tourist visa length, and nothing shorter exists in this category. Fees are not refundable on rejection, since the government charge is paid the moment the application is lodged.

A note on deposits

A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is not part of the prices listed, it comes back to you after your exit from the country, and we state clearly on WhatsApp whether a Malta passport is affected.

Instalment plans for UAE residents

If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Malta passport, the fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link.

Documents required for a Dubai visa on a Malta passport

WhatsApp us the following and expect an eligibility answer within about an hour:

  1. Front page and back cover of the passport, six months validity minimum. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
  2. A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.
  3. A round trip ticket, which we can also book for you if it is not yet arranged.
  4. Birth certificate for any child applicant. A national ID copy is required for some nationalities.

A bank statement covering six months is required for certain passports. Where Malta citizens are affected, the statement of a family member living in the UAE is accepted. UAE immigration may also ask arriving travellers to show proof of funds on entry, so carry a card or cash that demonstrates you can support your stay.

Sponsor requirements

For sponsored applications the UAE resident supplies a passport copy and residence visa page valid for six months, both sides of their Emirates ID, and the online guarantee form at applyvisa.app. The sponsor’s bank statement can stand in for the applicant’s where one is required, but this applies to family members only, not friends.

How Malta citizens apply

  1. Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133. We check them the same day and tell you which visa suits your travel dates.
  2. Settle the fee by secure link or instalments. Submission to immigration follows verification and payment.
  3. We lodge the application and track it. Approval for Malta passports usually takes 24 to 72 hours; immigration can sometimes extend this or ask for more paperwork.
  4. Once approved, we send the visa PDF on WhatsApp. Show it at check in and at UAE immigration together with your passport.

Validity, entry and stay rules for Malta visitors

Entry must take place within 60 days of issue, or the visa lapses. Your 30 or 60 days of stay begin on the day you enter, not on the day the visa is issued. A single entry visa allows one arrival; a multiple entry visa lets you leave and re enter as often as you like within the validity, which suits travellers combining the UAE with Oman, Saudi Arabia or Qatar. Employment is not permitted on a tourist visa.

No grace period and the AED 50 daily fine

Once a visit visa expires, no extra days are granted. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. Our team messages Malta visitors on WhatsApp ahead of expiry so there is time to extend or leave.

Visa extension without leaving the UAE

The 30 day visa allows three extensions of 30 days and the 60 day visa allows two, without leaving the country. Combined stay is capped at 120 days. At the 120 day point, a new visa requires an exit, which can be done by an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. Extensions are only accepted before expiry, so message us while you still have a week or more left.

Another route for Malta passports

For Malta travellers who prefer it, the Sharjah 60 day single entry visa costs AED 1,200 and carries no deposit. Holders may move freely across all seven emirates. We will advise on WhatsApp whether this suits Malta citizens better than the standard visa.

Why applications get held up

  • Leaving out the back cover, which immigration requires alongside the data page.
  • Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
  • Blurred or cropped photos. Use a clear, full colour scan with all four corners visible.
  • Past visa problems in the UAE. We assess these before submission so that you are not surprised by a refusal.
  • A passport with a single name and no document showing a full name, which immigration cannot process.
  • Tight timelines. Three working days is the minimum, and peak seasons need more.

Malta passport Dubai visa FAQ

What is the processing time?

Typically 24 to 72 hours. Immigration sets the timeline and may ask for more documents, so allow three working days or more before your flight.

What does the 30 day visa cost?

AED 450 single or AED 800 multiple entry. Indian and Filipino rates are AED 400 and AED 750. Deposits, where applicable, are confirmed before payment.

60 day visa fee for Malta citizens?

The 60 day visa costs AED 650 single entry or AED 1,000 multiple entry, and AED 600 or AED 950 for Indian and Filipino passports.

Are financial documents needed?

It depends on nationality. Some passports are asked for a six month statement, and a UAE based family member can submit theirs instead. Immigration may also ask arriving travellers for proof of funds, so carry a card or cash. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm the rule for Malta passports.

Can I extend a Dubai visa without leaving the UAE?

It can be extended in country: three times for a 30 day visa, twice for a 60 day visa, 30 days each, with a 120 day ceiling. After that, exit and re enter on a new visa.

Is there a grace period after the Dubai visa expires?

No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.

What if immigration refuses my Dubai visa?

No. Visa fees, including the service fee, are not refundable if immigration rejects the application, because the government charge is paid at submission. You may reapply after addressing the reason for refusal.

What about children on Malta passports?

Yes. Minors receive their own visa at the adult price, and we ask for a birth certificate with the usual documents.

Does the tourist visa allow employment?

No. The visa is for visiting only. Taking up work requires an employment visa arranged by a UAE employer.
