a2a visa change for Bolivia citizens

When a visitor from Bolivia has run out of extension options, a a2a visa change is the practical answer: a short flight out, a new visa issued while you wait, and a return within hours. We arrange the flydubai return ticket, submit the visa application the moment your exit registers, and stay on WhatsApp with you until you clear immigration in Dubai.

Quick answer: a a2a visa change for a Bolivia passport costs AED 1,550 flat, includes a flydubai return ticket and a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa, and normally takes six to twelve hours from departure to re entry.

Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.

How a a2a visa change works

At its core, a a2a visa change is a short trip out of the country so that a new visa can be issued. Immigration only links a new visa to a Bolivia passport once the holder has left the UAE, which is why the flight is essential. A flydubai rotation to a nearby GCC airport is the fastest way to do it. The typical route runs from Dubai International Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha, with a return the same day.

There is also a bus option to Oman, but it takes a full day or more and includes an overnight stay. A a2a visa change costs more than the bus, yet it saves a day and suits families, older travellers and anyone with work or school commitments in Dubai.

When Bolivia passport holders need a a2a visa change

Many UAE visit visas can be extended without leaving, which means a a2a visa change is only needed in specific cases. Here is when it becomes the right choice for a Bolivia passport holder:

  • You have used every in country extension available. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days.
  • Your employer has cancelled your residence visa. Cancellation papers cannot be extended, so a a2a visa change converts you to a 60 day tourist visa.
  • Your visa has already expired. Extensions must be filed before expiry, so once the date has passed the practical solution is to settle the fine and exit through a a2a visa change.
  • You entered on a visa type that cannot be extended in country, such as certain on arrival stamps or multiple entry permits. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm which category your Bolivia passport falls under.

Overstay fines and why you should book early

Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. There is no grace period on tourist and visit visas, so the fine starts the day after expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit, usually AED 250 to 300, on top of the daily fine. Booking early costs nothing extra, so we advise Bolivia travellers to message us with 10 to 15 days left on the current visa.

Price of a a2a visa change on a Bolivia passport

The package for Bolivia passport holders is straightforward: AED 1,550 for a 60 day single entry visa and the return flight on flydubai. Tourist visa holders and cancelled residents pay an identical amount. It covers the airline ticket, the visa fee and our coordination before, during and after the flight.

  • New UAE tourist visa: 60 days, single entry
  • Flight included: flydubai round trip from Dubai Terminal 2
  • Processing: visa applied while you are outside the UAE and sent to your WhatsApp as a PDF
  • Assistance: WhatsApp support throughout, including on the day of travel
  • Rate: AED 1,550 per person

A 30 day a2a visa change is not available through us because the processing cost is similar and the value is poorer than the 60 day visa. A surcharge of AED 100 applies to a small number of nationalities that require additional processing, and we will tell you before you pay whether a Bolivia passport is affected. Fines for overstaying are cleared by the passenger at the airport and sit outside the package price.

Some Bolivia applicants may need to place a refundable security deposit. It is independent of the visa price, is returned after you exit the country, and we state the amount clearly on WhatsApp first.

Payment plans for UAE residents

Residents of the UAE who book on behalf of Bolivia visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.

Paperwork for a a2a visa change

Send these on WhatsApp and we can usually confirm eligibility within the hour:

  1. Passport scan showing the front page and the back cover. A missing back cover is the most common reason an application is returned, so please include both.
  2. At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
  3. A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
  4. The existing tourist visa PDF or, for cancelled residents, the cancellation document.

A bank statement covering six months is required for certain passports. Where Bolivia citizens are affected, the statement of a family member living in the UAE is accepted. Bear in mind that immigration officers sometimes ask arriving passengers to show they can fund their stay, so keep a card or cash accessible. Before the flight we will send you a link to the guarantee form at applyvisa.app, which takes a few minutes to complete.

What happens on the day

Before travel

Once your documents are approved we book the flydubai seat, send you the ticket and ask you to clear any fines in the GDRFA or ICP app. With a valid visa, no payment is due at the airport. Avoid Fridays. If a security check is triggered on a Friday, approval may slip past the weekend when offices are closed.

Departure from Dubai

Arrive at Dubai International Terminal 2 around five hours before departure, check in at the flydubai counter and collect both boarding passes. Photograph both passes and send them to us on WhatsApp. Immigration then stamps you out, which formally ends your current visa, and the moment your exit registers we submit your new visa application.

While you wait abroad

The hop to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha takes close to an hour. There is no need to enter the transit country; you stay airside and check in for the return sector. Approval usually arrives within hours, and you receive the visa PDF on WhatsApp. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. Airlines permit you to wait at the airport, and we keep you updated until it clears.

Re entry

Holding the approved PDF, you may pass through the Terminal 2 eGate. If the visa is still processing when you land, do not use the eGate; go to a manual immigration counter and wait in the designated area until we confirm approval. The visa clock starts on the date of re entry.

a2a visa change compared with other options

An in country extension at AED 1,200 for 30 days is the simplest route if you are still eligible. A a2a visa change becomes the right choice the moment extension is no longer possible, and it delivers 60 days rather than 30 for AED 1,550. The bus to Oman costs less, from AED 1,000 for residence cancellation and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes a day or two and includes a night away. For the majority of travellers from Bolivia, the a2a visa change is the more comfortable and predictable route.

FlyDubai airport visa renewal in dubai

What can go wrong and how to avoid it

  • Waiting until the final days. Peak periods such as Eid, December and January fill flights quickly.
  • Passport validity under six months. Renew before you travel, as immigration will not issue a visa against a short validity passport.
  • Ticket name errors. We need the full name exactly as printed in the Bolivia passport.
  • Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before travel, or you will be stopped at immigration.
  • Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
  • Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.

Answers for Bolivia citizens

How long will I be away from Dubai?

Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.

Is there a limit on repeat visa changes?

There is no fixed limit, but every application is assessed on its own and repeated back to back changes attract closer scrutiny. Most of our clients do one or two before moving to a residence visa or leaving the UAE.

My residency was cancelled. Can I still apply?

Yes, and it is the situation we see most often. Once you have the cancellation paper, we process a 60 day tourist visa for AED 1,550.

Which airport do I fly to?

Muscat is the most common, with Kuwait and Doha as alternatives, all within two hours of Dubai.

Is a transit visa required?

No. For a same day return you stay in the international transit area and do not pass through the other country’s immigration.

What about children on Bolivia passports?

Certainly. Every family member, including children, needs a ticket and visa, and we arrange all of them together.

What if immigration declines the application?

Refusal is rare but final. You would need to travel elsewhere and the visa fee is retained by the authorities. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.

Is this an official process?

It is fully legal. The visa is issued by the UAE authorities in the normal way; the only difference is that you are outside the country at the time.
