A a2a visa change is the fastest lawful way for Croatia passport holders to receive a new 60 day UAE tourist visa when the visa they currently hold can no longer be extended. Our team books the flight, lodges the visa application at the right moment and guides you on WhatsApp through every stage of the day.
Short version: AED 1,550, one flydubai return flight, one new 60 day single entry tourist visa, and a typical turnaround of six to twelve hours for Croatia citizens doing a a2a visa change.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
a2a visa change explained for Croatia travellers
A a2a visa change is simply a controlled exit followed by a fresh entry. Immigration only links a new visa to a Croatia passport once the holder has left the UAE, which is why the flight is essential. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. From Dubai you would normally fly to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha and return to Terminal 2 within six to twelve hours.
Some visitors choose the Oman bus route instead, though it is slower and involves sleeping near the border crossing. A a2a visa change costs more than the bus, yet it saves a day and suits families, older travellers and anyone with work or school commitments in Dubai.
Situations where Croatia citizens need a a2a visa change
Most 30 day and 60 day UAE visit visas can now be extended from inside the country, so a a2a visa change is not always necessary. Here is when it becomes the right choice for a Croatia passport holder:
- Your extensions are exhausted: three for a 30 day visa, two for a 60 day visa, with 120 days as the overall limit.
- Your employer has cancelled your residence visa. Cancellation papers cannot be extended, so a a2a visa change converts you to a 60 day tourist visa.
- You missed the extension deadline. With fines already running, a a2a visa change is the fastest way to regularise your status.
- You entered on a visa type that cannot be extended in country, such as certain on arrival stamps or multiple entry permits. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm which category your Croatia passport falls under.
Do not wait until the last day
An expired visa attracts a fine of AED 50 per day, and that figure is the same for every visa category and every emirate. No grace period applies to visit visas, so the counter starts the very next day. Overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit, usually AED 250 to 300, on top of the daily fine. Booking early costs nothing extra, so we advise Croatia travellers to message us with 10 to 15 days left on the current visa.

Price of a a2a visa change on a Croatia passport
Our a2a visa change package is a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa plus a flydubai return flight, priced at AED 1,550. You pay the same figure for a tourist to tourist change and for a residence cancellation conversion. That figure pays for the flydubai ticket, the visa itself and our coordination on travel day.
- New UAE tourist visa: 60 days, single entry
- Flight: flydubai return ticket from Dubai Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha
- Visa delivery: PDF sent to you on WhatsApp once immigration approves
- Help: a dedicated consultant on WhatsApp for the whole process
- Price: AED 1,550 per adult
We only sell the 60 day a2a visa change, since a 30 day visa would cost nearly as much for half the validity. A surcharge of AED 100 applies to a small number of nationalities that require additional processing, and we will tell you before you pay whether a Croatia passport is affected. If you have overstayed, the fine is paid directly to immigration and is not included in the AED 1,550.
For a limited set of nationalities a refundable deposit is requested. It sits apart from the AED 1,550, comes back to you after your final exit, and we confirm whether it applies to Croatia citizens before booking.
Instalment options
Residents of the UAE who book on behalf of Croatia visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
Paperwork for a a2a visa change
Message us these items on WhatsApp and we will normally confirm your eligibility within an hour:
- A clear scan of your Croatia passport, both the data page and the back cover. Missing back covers cause most resubmissions.
- A passport valid for six months or more from the date of travel, in good condition with two blank pages.
- One colour passport photo on a plain white background, no more than six months old.
- A copy of the visa you are on now, or the official cancellation paper if your residency was cancelled.
Depending on nationality, a six month bank statement may be requested. If that applies to Croatia applicants, a UAE resident family member can provide theirs instead. UAE immigration may also ask arriving travellers to show proof of funds on entry, so carry a card or cash that demonstrates you can support your stay. Before the flight we will send you a link to the guarantee form at applyvisa.app, which takes a few minutes to complete.
The a2a visa change process from start to finish
Preparation
After verification we book flydubai, send your ticket and confirm that you have no unpaid fines on the GDRFA or ICP system. If your visa has not expired, there is nothing to pay at the airport. Avoid Fridays. If a security check is triggered on a Friday, approval may slip past the weekend when offices are closed.
Departure from Dubai
Reach Terminal 2 at Dubai International about five hours early, check in with flydubai and ask for the outbound and return boarding passes together. Photograph both passes and send them to us on WhatsApp. Your exit stamp ends the current visa, and we lodge the fresh visa the instant the exit appears in the system.
At the transit airport
The flight takes around one hour. Because you do not leave the airport, Croatia passport holders need no visa for the transit country. Approval usually arrives within hours, and you receive the visa PDF on WhatsApp. If your application is referred for a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours. Both flydubai and Air Arabia allow passengers to wait at the airport until the visa is approved, and we stay in contact throughout.
Arrival at Terminal 2
With the visa PDF on your phone, the eGate at Terminal 2 gives you a fast entry. Without the PDF in hand, use a manual immigration counter rather than the eGate and remain in the designated area. Validity runs for 60 days from your arrival.
A2A versus extension versus bus
Where an extension is still possible, take it: the in country option costs AED 1,200 for 30 days and requires no flight. A a2a visa change becomes the right choice the moment extension is no longer possible, and it delivers 60 days rather than 30 for AED 1,550. The Dubai to Oman bus is the budget option, starting from AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes one to two days with an overnight stay. For the majority of travellers from Croatia, the a2a visa change is the more comfortable and predictable route.

What can go wrong and how to avoid it
- Leaving it to the last minute. Seats disappear around Eid, December and January, so contact us a week or more in advance.
- Short passport validity. Applications on passports with under six months remaining are refused.
- Ticket name errors. We need the full name exactly as printed in the Croatia passport.
- Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before travel, or you will be stopped at immigration.
- Assuming a grace period. There is none, so a visa expiring on the 10th must be extended or exited by the 10th.
- Past visa violations. Be open with us so that we can advise whether a a2a visa change is likely to succeed.
Frequently asked questions about a2a visa change for Croatia passport
How long will I be away from Dubai?
Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.
Can I do this more than once?
You may repeat it, but approval is never automatic and repeated changes are scrutinised. One or two is typical.
Does this work after residency cancellation?
Yes. Send the cancellation document and we handle the change to a 60 day tourist visa for the same flat price.
Which airport do I fly to?
We book flydubai to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha based on seat availability. Each is a short flight with a same day return.
Do I need a visa for Oman, Kuwait or Qatar?
No. For a same day return you stay in the international transit area and do not pass through the other country’s immigration.
What about children on Croatia passports?
Certainly. Every family member, including children, needs a ticket and visa, and we arrange all of them together.
What if my visa is not approved?
Refusal is rare but final. You would need to travel elsewhere and the visa fee is retained by the authorities. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.
Is a a2a visa change legal?
It is fully legal. The visa is issued by the UAE authorities in the normal way; the only difference is that you are outside the country at the time.
