If you hold a Egypt passport and your UAE visit visa is close to expiry, a a2a visa change is the quickest legal route to a fresh 60 day tourist visa. Our team books the flight, lodges the visa application at the right moment and guides you on WhatsApp through every stage of the day.
Short version: AED 1,550, one flydubai return flight, one new 60 day single entry tourist visa, and a typical turnaround of six to twelve hours for Egypt citizens doing a a2a visa change.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
How a a2a visa change works
A a2a visa change works on one principle: you must be outside UAE territory before a new tourist visa can be activated against your passport. Immigration only links a new visa to a Egypt passport once the holder has left the UAE, which is why the flight is essential. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. From Dubai you would normally fly to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha and return to Terminal 2 within six to twelve hours.
There is also a bus option to Oman, but it takes a full day or more and includes an overnight stay. The flight route is pricier than the bus, but it saves an entire day and works better for families, seniors and people who cannot take time off.
Who from Egypt needs a a2a visa change?
Since in country extension exists, a a2a visa change is the right move only when extension is no longer possible. These are the situations where Egypt travellers should book one:
- You have reached the 120 day ceiling after extending a 30 day visa three times or a 60 day visa twice.
- Your employer has cancelled your residence visa. Cancellation papers cannot be extended, so a a2a visa change converts you to a 60 day tourist visa.
- The expiry date has passed. Extension is no longer possible, so a a2a visa change after paying any fine is the way forward.
- Your entry stamp is one that immigration does not extend, which applies to some on arrival and multiple entry visas. We can confirm the rules for Egypt passports on WhatsApp.
Overstay fines and why you should book early
Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. Tourist and visit visas carry no grace period, which means fines begin immediately after the expiry date. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before they can leave. A a2a visa change booked ten days before expiry costs exactly the same as one booked on the last day, so we recommend contacting us when you still have 10 to 15 days remaining.

How much does a a2a visa change cost?
Our a2a visa change package is a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa plus a flydubai return flight, priced at AED 1,550. Tourist visa holders and cancelled residents pay an identical amount. That figure pays for the flydubai ticket, the visa itself and our coordination on travel day.
- What you receive: a 60 day single entry tourist visa for the UAE
- Airline: flydubai, departing and returning at Dubai Terminal 2
- Delivery: approved visa PDF on WhatsApp, usually before your return flight
- Help: a dedicated consultant on WhatsApp for the whole process
- Cost: AED 1,550 for each adult passenger
We do not offer a 30 day a2a visa change. A 30 day visa costs nearly the same to process and gives you half the time, so the 60 day option is better value in every case we see. A few nationalities pay an additional AED 100 for longer processing. We check the position for Egypt passports and tell you upfront. Overstay fines, if any, are paid by the traveller at the immigration desk before departure and are not part of the package.
For a limited set of nationalities a refundable deposit is requested. It sits apart from the AED 1,550, comes back to you after your final exit, and we confirm whether it applies to Egypt citizens before booking.
Spread the cost
If you are a UAE resident arranging a a2a visa change for a relative or friend holding a Egypt passport, you can pay through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
Paperwork for a a2a visa change
Share these four items on WhatsApp and we will confirm whether we can proceed, typically within the hour:
- A clear scan of your Egypt passport, both the data page and the back cover. Missing back covers cause most resubmissions.
- At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
- A colour passport size photo on a white background, taken within the last six months, without glasses.
- Your current visa copy, either the tourist visa you hold or the residence cancellation paper.
A bank statement covering six months is required for certain passports. Where Egypt citizens are affected, the statement of a family member living in the UAE is accepted. Bear in mind that immigration officers sometimes ask arriving passengers to show they can fund their stay, so keep a card or cash accessible. Before the flight we will send you a link to the guarantee form at applyvisa.app, which takes a few minutes to complete.
a2a visa change step by step for Egypt travellers
Preparation
Once your documents are approved we book the flydubai seat, send you the ticket and ask you to clear any fines in the GDRFA or ICP app. With a valid visa, no payment is due at the airport. Choose a Monday to Thursday departure. Friday flights carry a risk of weekend delays, since Saturday and Sunday are non working days for government offices.
Check in and exit at Dubai Terminal 2
Arrive at Dubai International Terminal 2 around five hours before departure, check in at the flydubai counter and collect both boarding passes. WhatsApp us photos of both boarding passes before you go through immigration. Once immigration records your exit, your old visa closes and we file the new application immediately.
The waiting period
You will be in the air for about an hour. There is no need to enter the transit country; you stay airside and check in for the return sector. Approval usually arrives within hours, and you receive the visa PDF on WhatsApp. If your application is referred for a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours. Both flydubai and Air Arabia allow passengers to wait at the airport until the visa is approved, and we stay in contact throughout.
Arrival at Terminal 2
If we have already sent the PDF, go straight to the eGate at Terminal 2. If approval has not come through yet, skip the eGate, approach a manual counter and stay in the waiting area until we send the PDF. Your 60 days begin on the entry date.
a2a visa change compared with other options
An in country extension at AED 1,200 for 30 days is the simplest route if you are still eligible. A a2a visa change steps in when extension ends, and it gives 60 days instead of 30. The bus to Oman costs less, from AED 1,000 for residence cancellation and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes a day or two and includes a night away. Most Egypt passport holders find the flight worth the difference for the time it saves.

What can go wrong and how to avoid it
- Waiting until the final days. Peak periods such as Eid, December and January fill flights quickly.
- A passport expiring within six months. Renew it before attempting a a2a visa change.
- Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Egypt passport exactly, including middle names.
- Overstay fines still due. Pay them in advance through the GDRFA or ICP app.
- Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
- Undisclosed history. Prior overstays, bans or uncancelled visas can lead to refusal, so share them with us upfront.
Egypt passport a2a visa change FAQ
How long will I be away from Dubai?
Plan for six to twelve hours. In rare cases a security review adds 24 to 48 hours, and both flydubai and Air Arabia let you stay airside until it clears.
How often can I repeat a a2a visa change?
No official cap exists, though immigration reviews each case separately and frequent repeats draw more attention. Most Egypt visitors do one or two before obtaining residency or departing.
Can I do a a2a visa change on a cancelled residence visa?
Yes, and it is the situation we see most often. Once you have the cancellation paper, we process a 60 day tourist visa for AED 1,550.
What is the destination?
The destination is usually Muscat, though Kuwait City and Doha are also used. All three allow a same day turnaround.
Is a transit visa required?
No visa is required because you never clear immigration in the transit country.
Can my children travel on the same package?
Yes. Children require individual tickets and visas, and we prepare a single quote for the whole family.
What if my visa is not approved?
Refusals are rare. If immigration declines, you cannot re enter the UAE on the return flight and would need to travel onward. Visa processing fees are not refundable because they cover government costs, which is why we assess risk factors such as previous overstays or bans before you pay.
Are visa changes by air allowed?
Yes. You leave on the current visa and return on a new one granted by UAE immigration. Using a licensed agency keeps the application within official channels.
