When a visitor from Mongolia has run out of extension options, a a2a visa change is the practical answer: a short flight out, a new visa issued while you wait, and a return within hours. Our team books the flight, lodges the visa application at the right moment and guides you on WhatsApp through every stage of the day.
In short: Mongolia passport holders pay AED 1,550 for a a2a visa change, which covers the return flight from Dubai, the 60 day single entry visa and our coordination, with most travellers back in Dubai within six to twelve hours.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
How a a2a visa change works
At its core, a a2a visa change is a short trip out of the country so that a new visa can be issued. The rule is that the applicant, in this case a Mongolia passport holder, must be abroad when the new visa is processed. A short flight is the quickest way to meet that condition. From Dubai you would normally fly to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha and return to Terminal 2 within six to twelve hours.
Some visitors choose the Oman bus route instead, though it is slower and involves sleeping near the border crossing. The flight route is pricier than the bus, but it saves an entire day and works better for families, seniors and people who cannot take time off.
Who from Mongolia needs a a2a visa change?
Many UAE visit visas can be extended without leaving, which means a a2a visa change is only needed in specific cases. These are the situations where Mongolia travellers should book one:
- All your extensions are used up. The UAE allows a 30 day visa to be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, and total stay cannot go beyond 120 days.
- Your UAE residence visa has been cancelled. A cancelled residency cannot be extended, so we convert your status to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change.
- You missed the extension deadline. With fines already running, a a2a visa change is the fastest way to regularise your status.
- Your visa category is not eligible for extension. We check this for Mongolia citizens on WhatsApp before you spend anything.
Why timing matters in 2026
Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. There is no grace period on tourist and visit visas, so the fine starts the day after expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit, usually AED 250 to 300, on top of the daily fine. Because the fee is the same whenever you book, the smart move is to reach out while 10 to 15 days remain on your visa.

How much does a a2a visa change cost?
We offer one product: a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa with a flydubai return ticket for AED 1,550. Tourist visa holders and cancelled residents pay an identical amount. The amount includes the flight, the government visa fee and our support throughout the day.
- Visa issued: 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa
- Airline: flydubai, departing and returning at Dubai Terminal 2
- How you get it: a PDF copy on WhatsApp while you wait at the transit airport
- Assistance: WhatsApp support throughout, including on the day of travel
- Cost: AED 1,550 for each adult passenger
We only sell the 60 day a2a visa change, since a 30 day visa would cost nearly as much for half the validity. Some nationalities carry an AED 100 surcharge for extended processing; we confirm on WhatsApp whether this applies to Mongolia citizens. Fines for overstaying are cleared by the passenger at the airport and sit outside the package price.
Some Mongolia applicants may need to place a refundable security deposit. It is independent of the visa price, is returned after you exit the country, and we state the amount clearly on WhatsApp first.
Pay in instalments
If you are a UAE resident arranging a a2a visa change for a relative or friend holding a Mongolia passport, you can pay through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
Documents required for a Mongolia passport
Send these on WhatsApp and we can usually confirm eligibility within the hour:
- Front page and back cover of the passport. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
- At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
- A colour passport size photo on a white background, taken within the last six months, without glasses.
- Whatever permit you currently hold: the tourist visa copy or the residence cancellation paper.
Some nationalities may be asked for a six month bank statement, and where that applies to a Mongolia passport a UAE based family member’s statement can be submitted on your behalf. Bear in mind that immigration officers sometimes ask arriving passengers to show they can fund their stay, so keep a card or cash accessible. One more step: fill in the guarantee form at applyvisa.app a few days before you fly.
How the day unfolds for a Mongolia passport holder
Preparation
We confirm your flydubai flight, share the ticket and remind you to settle any overstay fine through the GDRFA or ICP app. If your visa has not expired, there is nothing to pay at the airport. Choose a Monday to Thursday departure. Friday flights carry a risk of weekend delays, since Saturday and Sunday are non working days for government offices.
Check in and exit at Dubai Terminal 2
Get to Terminal 2 five hours ahead, complete flydubai check in and take both boarding passes. Take clear photos of the two passes and send them to your consultant on WhatsApp. After the exit is registered, we submit the new tourist visa application for your Mongolia passport without delay.
In Muscat, Kuwait or Doha
The flight takes around one hour. You remain in the transit area and do not need to clear immigration in Oman, Kuwait or Qatar for a same day return. In standard cases the new visa is approved within a few hours and we send the PDF to your WhatsApp before your return flight. Should a security check be triggered, expect 24 to 48 hours. The airline lets you wait airside and we stay on WhatsApp until the visa is issued.
Returning to Dubai
Holding the approved PDF, you may pass through the Terminal 2 eGate. Without the PDF in hand, use a manual immigration counter rather than the eGate and remain in the designated area. The new 60 day visa starts counting from the day you re enter.
Choosing between a a2a visa change, extension and the Oman bus
If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. Once extension is off the table, the a2a visa change is the better option, giving 60 days for AED 1,550. The bus visa change is cheaper, beginning at AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for tourist visa holders, but it needs one to two days and an overnight stop. On balance, Mongolia citizens usually prefer the a2a visa change for its speed and comfort.

What can go wrong and how to avoid it
- Leaving it to the last minute. Seats disappear around Eid, December and January, so contact us a week or more in advance.
- Passport validity under six months. Renew before you travel, as immigration will not issue a visa against a short validity passport.
- Mismatched names between ticket and passport, which airlines and immigration treat seriously.
- Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before travel, or you will be stopped at immigration.
- Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
- Undisclosed history. Prior overstays, bans or uncancelled visas can lead to refusal, so share them with us upfront.
Questions Mongolia travellers ask us
How long does a a2a visa change take for a Mongolia passport?
Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.
Is there a limit on repeat visa changes?
You may repeat it, but approval is never automatic and repeated changes are scrutinised. One or two is typical.
Is a a2a visa change possible for cancelled residents?
Yes, and it is the situation we see most often. Once you have the cancellation paper, we process a 60 day tourist visa for AED 1,550.
What is the destination?
Muscat is the most common, with Kuwait and Doha as alternatives, all within two hours of Dubai.
Will I need a visa for the other country?
Not for a same day return. You do not enter Oman, Kuwait or Qatar; you stay in transit.
Can I bring my family?
Certainly. Every family member, including children, needs a ticket and visa, and we arrange all of them together.
What if my visa is not approved?
Rejection is uncommon. Should it happen, you would need to fly on to your home country or another destination, and the visa fee is not refundable as it is a government charge. We flag risks before booking so that this does not come as a surprise.
Is a a2a visa change legal?
Yes, completely. It follows standard immigration procedure, and a licensed agency such as ours submits the application through the proper system.
