a2a visa change for Singapore passport

A a2a visa change is the fastest lawful way for Singapore passport holders to receive a new 60 day UAE tourist visa when the visa they currently hold can no longer be extended. Our team books the flight, lodges the visa application at the right moment and guides you on WhatsApp through every stage of the day.

Short version: AED 1,550, one flydubai return flight, one new 60 day single entry tourist visa, and a typical turnaround of six to twelve hours for Singapore citizens doing a a2a visa change.

Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.

How a a2a visa change works

A a2a visa change is simply a controlled exit followed by a fresh entry. UAE immigration issues the new tourist visa against your Singapore passport while you are physically outside the country, so leaving is not optional. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. The usual routing from Dubai is to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha, and most travellers are back in the arrivals hall at Terminal 2 within six to twelve hours of departure.

Some visitors choose the Oman bus route instead, though it is slower and involves sleeping near the border crossing. Although a a2a visa change is dearer than the bus option, the time saved makes it the sensible choice for most Singapore visitors.

Situations where Singapore citizens need a a2a visa change

A a2a visa change is a fallback, because the UAE allows visit visa extension without exit in many cases. For Singapore citizens, the following circumstances call for a a2a visa change:

  • All your extensions are used up. The UAE allows a 30 day visa to be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, and total stay cannot go beyond 120 days.
  • Your residency was cancelled and you need more time in the UAE. The only route is a new tourist visa, which a a2a visa change provides.
  • Your visa expired before you applied for an extension. In that case you pay the overstay fine and exit on a a2a visa change.
  • Your entry stamp is one that immigration does not extend, which applies to some on arrival and multiple entry visas. We can confirm the rules for Singapore passports on WhatsApp.

Overstay fines and why you should book early

Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. Tourist and visit visas carry no grace period, which means fines begin immediately after the expiry date. Overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit, usually AED 250 to 300, on top of the daily fine. The price does not change with urgency, which is why we suggest starting the process with at least 10 to 15 days remaining.

Price of a a2a visa change on a Singapore passport

The package for Singapore passport holders is straightforward: AED 1,550 for a 60 day single entry visa and the return flight on flydubai. Tourist visa holders and cancelled residents pay an identical amount. It covers the airline ticket, the visa fee and our coordination before, during and after the flight.

  • Visa type: 60 days, single entry
  • Ticket: flydubai return from Dubai International Terminal 2 to a nearby GCC airport
  • Visa delivery: PDF sent to you on WhatsApp once immigration approves
  • Assistance: WhatsApp support throughout, including on the day of travel
  • Price: AED 1,550 per adult

We only sell the 60 day a2a visa change, since a 30 day visa would cost nearly as much for half the validity. A few nationalities pay an additional AED 100 for longer processing. We check the position for Singapore passports and tell you upfront. If you have overstayed, the fine is paid directly to immigration and is not included in the AED 1,550.

A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is separate from the visa price, it is returned after you exit the UAE at the end of your stay, and we confirm the amount for Singapore passports on WhatsApp before you pay anything.

Payment plans for UAE residents

Residents of the UAE who book on behalf of Singapore visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link.

Documents required for a Singapore passport

Share these four items on WhatsApp and we will confirm whether we can proceed, typically within the hour:

  1. Your passport data page plus a photo of the back cover. We ask for both because the back cover is the item most often forgotten.
  2. At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
  3. A colour passport size photo on a white background, taken within the last six months, without glasses.
  4. Your current visa copy, either the tourist visa you hold or the residence cancellation paper.

Bank statement requirements depend on nationality. Should Singapore be one of the passports that needs one, a relative in the UAE can submit their own statement for you. On arrival, immigration may request evidence of funds, so have a bank card or cash to hand. Please complete the guarantee form at applyvisa.app once we confirm your booking.

What happens on the day

Before travel

We confirm your flydubai flight, share the ticket and remind you to settle any overstay fine through the GDRFA or ICP app. If your visa has not expired, there is nothing to pay at the airport. Choose a Monday to Thursday departure. Friday flights carry a risk of weekend delays, since Saturday and Sunday are non working days for government offices.

At the airport

Get to Terminal 2 five hours ahead, complete flydubai check in and take both boarding passes. Take clear photos of the two passes and send them to your consultant on WhatsApp. After the exit is registered, we submit the new tourist visa application for your Singapore passport without delay.

While you wait abroad

The hop to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha takes close to an hour. You remain in the transit area and do not need to clear immigration in Oman, Kuwait or Qatar for a same day return. Typically the visa is granted in a few hours and we forward the PDF while you are still at the transit airport. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. Airlines permit you to wait at the airport, and we keep you updated until it clears.

Back in the UAE

Once you have the PDF from us, you can use the eGate at Terminal 2 for a quick entry. Should the visa still be pending on landing, avoid the eGate, use the manual counters and wait in the Terminal 2 holding area until we confirm. The new 60 day visa starts counting from the day you re enter.

Should Singapore travellers extend, fly or take the bus?

If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. When you can no longer extend, a a2a visa change provides twice the stay of an extension for AED 1,550. The Dubai to Oman bus is the budget option, starting from AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes one to two days with an overnight stay. On balance, Singapore citizens usually prefer the a2a visa change for its speed and comfort.

Why applications get delayed

  • Booking too late. Flights sell out around Eid, December and the January peak, so message us at least a week ahead.
  • Short passport validity. Applications on passports with under six months remaining are refused.
  • Ticket name errors. We need the full name exactly as printed in the Singapore passport.
  • Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before travel, or you will be stopped at immigration.
  • Counting on grace days. Visit visas have no grace period, so act before the printed expiry date.
  • Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.

Questions Singapore travellers ask us

How long will I be away from Dubai?

Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.

How many times can a Singapore citizen do a a2a visa change?

The rules set no maximum, but each new visa is a fresh decision by immigration, and consecutive changes are looked at more carefully.

Is a a2a visa change possible for cancelled residents?

Yes. Send the cancellation document and we handle the change to a 60 day tourist visa for the same flat price.

Where does the flight go?

Muscat is the most common, with Kuwait and Doha as alternatives, all within two hours of Dubai.

Do I need a visa for Oman, Kuwait or Qatar?

Not for a same day return. You do not enter Oman, Kuwait or Qatar; you stay in transit.

Can I bring my family?

Certainly. Every family member, including children, needs a ticket and visa, and we arrange all of them together.

What happens on rejection?

Refusals are rare. If immigration declines, you cannot re enter the UAE on the return flight and would need to travel onward. Visa processing fees are not refundable because they cover government costs, which is why we assess risk factors such as previous overstays or bans before you pay.

Is this an official process?

Yes. You leave on the current visa and return on a new one granted by UAE immigration. Using a licensed agency keeps the application within official channels.
