For travellers from Taiwan, the Bus visa change is the budget option: a coach ride to the Oman border, a new UAE visa processed while you are across, and a return the same day or the next morning. Our package covers the return bus, the Oman entry visa, UAE visa processing and all border charges, starting at AED 1,000. Here is everything a Taiwan passport holder needs to know before booking: price, schedule, documents and the border procedure.
The essentials for Taiwan citizens: AED 1,000 if you are on a cancelled residence or on arrival visa, AED 1,300 if you hold a tourist visa. Coach, Oman visa, UAE visa and border fees are all included. The service runs Sunday to Wednesday and takes about one day.
Planning to extend your stay in the UAE?
Check our visa renewal by bus service, including the UAE visa, border fees, Oman visa, two way bus fare, and accommodation until your visa is approved. Monthly payment is available with Tabby, Tamara, and UAE credit cards up to 12 months.
How a UAE Bus visa change works
A Bus visa change works on one principle: you must be outside the UAE before a new tourist visa can be activated, and the Oman land border is the closest place to do that. Immigration only links a new visa to a Taiwan passport once the holder has left the UAE, which is why the trip to Oman is essential. You board a coach in Dubai, cross into Oman, wait while the new UAE visa is approved, and return through the same border with the new visa on your passport. Expect roughly one day door to door, plus an optional night in Oman if the visa is not ready before the last coach.
The air option, a flydubai rotation to a nearby GCC airport, is quicker at six to twelve hours but costs AED 1,550. For Taiwan citizens who value price over speed, the Bus visa change is the better fit.
Is a Bus visa change available for Taiwan citizens?
The Oman bus route is open to a defined list of nationalities and to specific visa categories. Send us a photo of your Taiwan passport and current visa on WhatsApp and we will confirm within the hour whether the bus route is open to you, or whether the airport route or an in country extension is the better option. The service is typically used by:
- Tourist visa holders who have used all their in country extensions. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days; after that, an exit is required.
- Residents whose visa was cancelled and who want to convert to a 60 day tourist visa rather than leave the country.
- Travellers who entered on a visa on arrival and want a new tourist visa without flying home.
Overstay fines and why you should book early
Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. Visitors do not receive any grace days, and the fine runs from the first day of overstay. Fines are paid before the trip. Passengers with unpaid overstay charges are stopped at the exit counter. With departures limited to Sunday through Wednesday, Taiwan passport holders should book 7 to 10 days ahead of expiry.

What the Bus visa change package costs
The price depends on your current visa status rather than your nationality, though certain passports carry a refundable deposit or surcharge.
- AED 1,000 if you hold a cancellation paper or an arrival stamp
- AED 1,300 if you are currently on a tourist visa
Each price covers the coach both ways, the Oman visa, the new UAE visa application and every charge at the border. The standard product is a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa; ask us on WhatsApp if a 30 day option is available on your travel date. For those who need it, an overnight option in Oman is offered. Fines for overstaying are cleared directly with immigration and sit outside the package price.
For a limited set of nationalities a refundable deposit is requested. It sits apart from the package price, comes back to you after your final exit, and we confirm whether it applies to Taiwan citizens before booking.
Spread the cost
Residents of the UAE who book on behalf of Taiwan visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
What Taiwan citizens need to send us
Send these on WhatsApp and we can usually confirm eligibility within the hour:
- Your passport data page plus a photo of the back cover, with six months or more validity. We ask for both because the back cover is the item most often forgotten.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- The existing tourist visa PDF, the on arrival stamp page, or for cancelled residents the cancellation document.
- Your UAE contact number and the address where you are staying, so we can confirm the pick up point and time.
A bank statement covering six months is required for certain passports. Where Taiwan citizens are affected, the statement of a family member living in the UAE is accepted. Your Oman entry visa is applied for by us through the official eVisa portal before travel day. Keep your passport and a card or cash on hand; immigration sometimes asks re entering visitors to show they can support their stay.

What happens on the day
Preparation
After verification and payment we lodge the Oman eVisa, book your coach seat and send the pick up location and time on WhatsApp. Pay any overstay fine via the GDRFA or ICP app in advance.
On the coach
The coach leaves Dubai early and heads for the Oman border. Once the exit is registered at the UAE counter, we submit the new tourist visa application for your Taiwan passport without delay. You then enter Oman on the eVisa we arranged.
Waiting in Oman
Most Taiwan applications clear within a few hours, and the approved visa reaches your phone as a PDF. Occasionally immigration orders a security check, extending the wait to 24 to 48 hours. The one day stay option exists for exactly this situation. Approval is always at the discretion of UAE immigration.
The return leg
Holding the approved visa, you re enter the UAE on the return coach and clear immigration with the PDF and your passport. The new 60 day visa is activated at entry and starts counting from that day. Return to Dubai is the same day in most cases, or the next day for those who stayed over.
Should Taiwan travellers take the bus, fly or extend?
If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. Once extension is no longer possible, the Bus visa change from AED 1,000 is the cheapest way to receive a new 60 day visa, at the cost of a full day and Sunday to Wednesday departures only. For speed, the airport to airport change at AED 1,550 wins: daily flights and a same day return within six to twelve hours.
What can go wrong and how to avoid it
- Waiting until the final days. Sunday to Wednesday departures leave little room for error, so book a week or more ahead.
- A passport expiring within six months. Renew it before attempting a Bus visa change.
- Unpaid overstay fines. Immigration will not let you exit with fines outstanding, so check and pay through the GDRFA or ICP app before travel day.
- Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
- Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.
- Travelling without the physical passport. Both borders require the original document.
Taiwan passport Bus visa change FAQ
How long will I be away from Dubai?
About one day, including the coach journey, border formalities and the wait for visa approval. If immigration orders a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours, and the optional one day stay in Oman covers that.
Bus visa change price for a Taiwan passport?
AED 1,000 or AED 1,300 depending on your current visa, all in. The price covers transport both ways, the Oman visa, the new UAE visa and border charges. We confirm any deposit for Taiwan citizens before booking.
When does the coach depart?
The service runs Sunday to Wednesday only. There are no Thursday, Friday or Saturday departures, which is why we ask Taiwan travellers to book 7 to 10 days before the visa expires.
What about entry into Oman?
Yes. The Oman eVisa is arranged by us ahead of time and its cost is already in the AED 1,000 or AED 1,300.
Can I do a Bus visa change on a cancelled residence visa?
Yes, and it is the situation we see most often. Cancelled residents pay AED 1,000 and receive a 60 day tourist visa.
Can I do this more than once?
No official cap exists, though immigration reviews each case separately and frequent repeats draw more attention. Most Taiwan visitors do one or two before obtaining residency or departing.
What if immigration declines the application?
Rejection is uncommon. Should it happen, you would need to fly on from Oman to your home country or another destination, and the visa fee is not refundable as it is a government charge. We flag risks before booking.
Is this an official process?
Yes, completely. It follows standard immigration procedure, and a licensed agency such as ours submits the application through the proper system.
