If you hold a Thailand passport and your UAE visa is about to expire, a Bus visa change to Oman is the lowest cost way to leave the country and return on a fresh tourist visa. White Sky Travel bundles the coach both ways, the Oman visa, the UAE visa application and the border fees into a single price from AED 1,000. This page explains who qualifies, what a Thailand passport holder pays, which days the service runs, what to bring, and how the day unfolds at the border.
Short version: from AED 1,000 all in for a Thailand passport, Sunday to Wednesday departures, one day round trip to the Oman border, new 60 day UAE tourist visa issued before you return.
Planning to extend your stay in the UAE?
Check our visa renewal by bus service, including the UAE visa, border fees, Oman visa, two way bus fare, and accommodation until your visa is approved. Monthly payment is available with Tabby, Tamara, and UAE credit cards up to 12 months.
Bus visa change explained for Thailand travellers
A Bus visa change works on one principle: you must be outside the UAE before a new tourist visa can be activated, and the Oman land border is the closest place to do that. UAE immigration issues the new tourist visa against your Thailand passport while you are physically outside the country, so leaving is not optional. You travel by road to Oman, stay on the Omani side while the application is processed, and re enter the UAE with the new 60 day visa. The whole trip takes about one day, and an optional overnight stay in Oman is available if approval runs late.
The air option, a flydubai rotation to a nearby GCC airport, is quicker at six to twelve hours but costs AED 1,550. The Bus visa change costs less and suits Thailand visitors who can spare a day and want the cheapest package.
Who from Thailand can use the Bus visa change?
Not every passport can use the land border route; eligibility is set by nationality and by your current visa status. WhatsApp us your Thailand passport and visa copy and we will tell you straight away if the bus is available, or whether you should use the airport to airport change or an extension instead. The service is typically used by:
- Tourist visa holders whose extensions are exhausted, three for a 30 day visa and two for a 60 day visa, with 120 days as the overall limit.
- Residents whose visa was cancelled and who want to convert to a 60 day tourist visa rather than leave the country.
- Visitors on an arrival stamp who prefer a new visa over departing the region.
Why timing matters in 2026
Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. No grace period applies to visit visas, so the counter starts the very next day. Any overstay fine is settled before departure, since immigration will not clear you to exit with fines outstanding. With departures limited to Sunday through Wednesday, Thailand passport holders should book 7 to 10 days ahead of expiry.

Oman Bus visa change price for Thailand citizens
The price depends on your current visa status rather than your nationality, though certain passports carry a refundable deposit or surcharge.
- Residence cancellation or on arrival visa: AED 1,000
- AED 1,300 if you are currently on a tourist visa
Each price covers the coach both ways, the Oman visa, the new UAE visa application and every charge at the border. Most Thailand travellers receive a 60 day single entry visa; 30 day availability varies, so confirm with us on WhatsApp. An optional one day stay in Oman can be added for travellers who prefer a night across the border or whose approval runs into the evening. Overstay fines, if any, are paid by the traveller to immigration before departure and are not part of the package.
A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is separate from the package price, it is refunded after you exit the UAE at the end of your stay, and we confirm the amount for Thailand passports on WhatsApp before you pay anything.
Pay in instalments
Residents of the UAE who book on behalf of Thailand visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
Paperwork for a Bus visa change
WhatsApp us the following and expect an eligibility answer within about an hour:
- A clear scan of your Thailand passport, both the data page and the back cover, with at least six months validity. Missing back covers cause most resubmissions.
- One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
- Your current visa copy, either the tourist visa you hold, your visa on arrival stamp, or the residence cancellation paper.
- A reachable UAE number and address so we can share pick up instructions.
Depending on nationality, a six month bank statement may be requested. If that applies to Thailand applicants, a UAE resident family member can provide theirs instead. We apply for your Oman visa through the official eVisa system in advance, so you do not need to arrange anything with Omani immigration yourself. On travel day, have the physical passport and some means of payment with you in case proof of funds is requested at the border.

The Dubai to Oman Bus visa change process
Booking stage
We process the Oman visa, secure a seat on the next available Sunday to Wednesday departure and share pick up details on WhatsApp. Pay any overstay fine via the GDRFA or ICP app in advance.
The outbound leg
The coach departs Dubai in the morning and travels to the UAE Oman land border. At the UAE exit counter, immigration stamps you out, which formally ends your current visa, and we submit the new UAE visa application the moment your exit registers in the system. You then enter Oman on the eVisa we arranged.
On the Omani side
Approval usually takes a few hours, after which you receive the visa PDF on WhatsApp. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. In that case the optional overnight stay covers you, and we keep you updated throughout. Immigration makes the final call on every application.
Returning to Dubai
Once the PDF is in hand, you take the coach back and show the new visa alongside your Thailand passport at UAE immigration. The new 60 day visa is activated at entry and starts counting from that day. You are back in Dubai that evening, or the following day with the one day stay.
Bus versus airport versus extension
If you still have an in country extension available, use it first; a 30 day extension without exit costs AED 1,200 and needs no travel. When you can no longer extend, the Bus visa change at AED 1,000 to 1,300 gives you 60 days for the least money, provided you can spare a day and travel Sunday to Wednesday. The flight option costs AED 1,550, operates daily and is back in Dubai in six to twelve hours, ideal for Thailand travellers with work or school commitments.
Why bus visa changes get delayed
- Booking too late. The coach runs Sunday to Wednesday only and seats fill quickly around Eid, December and January, so message us 7 to 10 days ahead.
- A passport expiring within six months. Renew it before attempting a Bus visa change.
- Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before the trip, or you will be stopped at the exit counter.
- Believing there is a buffer. There is not, and fines start the day after expiry.
- Past visa violations. Be open with us so that we can advise whether a Bus visa change is likely to succeed.
- Forgetting the original passport. Photocopies are not accepted at either border; the physical Thailand passport must travel with you.
Frequently asked questions about Bus visa change for Thailand passport
How long will I be away from Dubai?
About one day, including the coach journey, border formalities and the wait for visa approval. If immigration orders a security check, approval can take 24 to 48 hours, and the optional one day stay in Oman covers that.
Bus visa change price for a Thailand passport?
The package costs AED 1,000 if you hold a cancellation paper or arrival stamp and AED 1,300 if you are on a tourist visa. Coach, Oman visa, UAE visa and border fees are included. Some nationalities may need a refundable deposit.
When does the coach depart?
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only. Weekend travel is not available, so leave enough time before your expiry date.
Is an Oman visa required?
Yes. The Oman eVisa is arranged by us ahead of time and its cost is already in the AED 1,000 or AED 1,300.
My residency was cancelled. Can I take the bus?
Yes, and it is the situation we see most often. Cancelled residents pay AED 1,000 and receive a 60 day tourist visa.
Can I do this more than once?
You may repeat it, but approval is never automatic and repeated changes are scrutinised. One or two is typical.
What happens on rejection?
Refusal is rare but final. You would need to travel elsewhere from Oman and the visa fee is retained by the authorities. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.
Are visa changes by road allowed?
Yes, completely. It follows standard immigration procedure, and a licensed agency such as ours submits the application through the proper system.
