Bahamas passport Visa extension: fees, rules and process

If you hold a Bahamas passport and your UAE visit visa is running out, a Visa extension lets you stay another 30 days without leaving the country. At White Sky Travel a 30 day extension is AED 1,200, processed in around two to three working days, with every step on WhatsApp. This page explains who qualifies, what a Bahamas passport holder pays, how many times you can extend, the deadline to apply, and what happens once you reach the 120 day limit.

The essentials for Bahamas citizens: AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, no exit required, two to three working days processing, a 120 day ceiling on total stay, and a five to seven day lead time before expiry. Only the issuing agency can process it.

Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.

We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.

Visa extension explained for Bahamas travellers

Unlike a visa change, a Visa extension keeps your existing visa and simply adds 30 days to it. Immigration processes the extension under the original issuer’s account and records the new expiry against your Bahamas passport. There is no travel involved: you stay in the UAE, keep your accommodation and wait for the approval on WhatsApp.

This is different from an airport to airport visa change or a visa change by bus to Oman, both of which involve leaving the UAE and returning on a completely new tourist visa. Wherever a Bahamas citizen is still within the extension limits, this is the option we recommend before anything else.

Who from Bahamas can apply for a Visa extension?

Whether you qualify comes down to your current visa, your extension history and who issued the original visa. We check the position for Bahamas passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.

  • Visit and tourist visa holders on a 30 day or 60 day visa issued through a travel agency. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days.
  • Travellers who will remain within the 120 day ceiling after the extension is added.
  • Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.

If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. Visas issued on arrival and residence visas cannot be extended through this service.

How much does a Visa extension cost?

A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Bahamas included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.

  • One month visa extension: AED 1,200 for 30 days
  • Two month visa extension: AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions

The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Overstay fines, if any, are paid by the traveller to immigration and are not part of the extension fee. For 30 extra days the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route; for a full 60 days with no extensions remaining, the airport to airport change or the bus route becomes the better buy for Bahamas travellers.

Pay in monthly instalments

Residents of the UAE booking for Bahamas visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. All other applicants receive a secure online payment link. Group applications for a family are processed as one, with the total eligible for instalments.

Documents required for a Visa extension on a Bahamas passport

Since immigration already has your file from the original visa, an extension needs only a few items. WhatsApp us:

  1. A clear copy of your Bahamas passport, valid for at least six months.
  2. A white background colour photo in passport format, without eyewear.
  3. Your existing visa PDF, which tells us the entry date, expiry and extension count.

Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. Immigration can request further documents at its discretion, and we pass any such request on to Bahamas travellers without delay.

Getting your extension in four steps

  1. Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 at least five to seven days before your visa expires. We check the expiry date and extension count and confirm eligibility the same day.
  2. Complete payment through the link or instalment option we provide. We file the extension once payment clears.
  3. The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Bahamas applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
  4. We forward the extension PDF on WhatsApp; the new expiry date is on it, so keep it handy.

The five to seven day rule for Bahamas visitors

Applications are only accepted while the visa is still valid. Once it expires, extension is no longer possible. Allow five to seven days: two to three working days for processing, plus a buffer for weekends and holidays. Back to back extensions should each be filed a few days before the running expiry, always within the 120 day cap.

Why the expiry date is final

Visitors do not receive any grace days after the expiry date. The overstay fine is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly across every emirate and visa category, from the first day past expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. Once expired, the visa cannot be extended. You settle the fine and use an exit route, airport to airport or bus, which we organise for Bahamas travellers.

When extension is no longer possible

The 120 day ceiling is absolute; after it, every Bahamas visitor has to exit. Four options follow: airport to airport at AED 1,550 and back the same day, the bus to Oman from AED 1,000 taking roughly a day, a return home before a new visa, or a residence visa through an employer or family member. Air or bus, the result is a new 60 day visa, and we book either for Bahamas travellers on WhatsApp.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Missing the deadline. Once the visa lapses, only an exit route remains.
  • Expecting a third party to extend a visa it did not issue, which the system does not allow.
  • Losing track of cumulative days. The 120 day cap runs from first entry, including every extension.
  • Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
  • Expecting an on arrival stamp to be extendable. It is not; a visa change is required instead.

Frequently asked questions about Visa extension for Bahamas passport

Can I extend my UAE visit visa without exiting on a Bahamas passport?

Yes. Agency issued 30 day and 60 day visit visas can be extended from inside the UAE without leaving, provided you still have extensions remaining, your total stay will not exceed 120 days, and the application goes through the agency that issued the visa.

How much does a Visa extension cost for Bahamas citizens?

The extension fee is AED 1,200 for 30 days and AED 2,400 for 60 days (two back to back extensions), identical for all passports including Bahamas.

What is the processing time?

Usually two to three working days. Because government offices close at weekends, Bahamas travellers should allow five to seven days before the visa expires.

What is the maximum stay?

A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days. The maximum continuous stay on any UAE tourist visa is 120 days, after which exit is mandatory.

Can I extend a visa issued by another agency?

Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.

How many days can I stay after the visa ends?

None. The AED 50 daily fine starts the day after the visa expires, with an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 added after 30 days of overstay.

Is there a family extension option?

Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.

Is the fee refundable on rejection?

Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
