Cape Verde passport Visa extension: fees, rules and process

For travellers from Cape Verde, the Visa extension is the simplest way to stay longer: no airport, no bus, just a 30 day extension processed while you remain in the UAE. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. Below you will find eligibility, pricing for Cape Verde citizens, the extension limits, the application deadline and your options after 120 days.

In short: Cape Verde passport holders pay AED 1,200 for each 30 day Visa extension, approved in two to three working days without leaving the country. Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 120 days maximum. Apply five to seven days before expiry through the agency that issued your visa.

How an in country UAE visa extension works

A Visa extension without exit is an extension of your existing visit visa, not a new visa. We file the extension through the issuing account, and immigration updates the expiry date on your Cape Verde passport record. Nothing physical happens on your side; you continue your visit and we send the approved extension on WhatsApp.

This is different from an airport to airport visa change or a visa change by bus to Oman, both of which involve leaving the UAE and returning on a completely new tourist visa. For Cape Verde visitors who still qualify, the extension is the cheapest and least disruptive option, and it is the one we recommend first.

Is a Visa extension available for Cape Verde citizens?

Eligibility for a Visa extension depends on three things: the visa you hold, how many extensions you have already used, and which agency issued the visa. Send us a copy of your current visa on WhatsApp and we will confirm within the hour whether a Cape Verde passport can be extended, or whether an exit route is the better option.

  • Anyone on a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa issued by an agency: three extensions for the 30 day visa, two for the 60 day visa, 30 days each time.
  • Applicants whose total stay, including the new extension, will not exceed 120 days from the original entry date.
  • Visitors whose visa we issued. Immigration processes extensions through the original issuer’s account, so another agency cannot extend a visa we did not issue, and we cannot extend a visa issued elsewhere.

Visas issued elsewhere can be extended by that agency; alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or a bus visa change from AED 1,000, each providing a new 60 day visa. This service does not cover visa on arrival stamps or residence permits.

How much does a Visa extension cost?

We charge AED 1,200 for every 30 day extension regardless of nationality, so Cape Verde citizens pay exactly this figure.

  • 1 month extension inside the UAE: AED 1,200
  • 60 day extension: AED 2,400 (two 30 day extensions back to back)

The AED 1,200 includes the immigration fee and our service. It cannot be refunded on refusal, since the government charge is paid when the application is lodged. Fines for overstaying are paid directly to immigration and sit outside the extension price. For 30 extra days the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route; for a full 60 days with no extensions remaining, the airport to airport change or the bus route becomes the better buy for Cape Verde travellers.

Payment options

Residents of the UAE booking for Cape Verde visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.

Visa extension requirements for Cape Verde passport holders

Because your record already exists with immigration, we only need the following on WhatsApp:

  1. Your Cape Verde passport data page, with six months or more validity remaining.
  2. A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.
  3. A copy of your current UAE visit visa, so we can confirm the issue date, the expiry date and how many extensions have already been used.

Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. Immigration may occasionally request an additional document on a case by case basis, and we will tell you immediately if that happens for a Cape Verde passport.

Getting your extension in four steps

  1. WhatsApp your documents to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 a week before expiry. We verify the dates and confirm whether a Cape Verde passport can be extended.
  2. Settle the AED 1,200 by secure link or instalments. The application goes to immigration after payment.
  3. We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Cape Verde citizens is two to three working days.
  4. We forward the extension PDF on WhatsApp; the new expiry date is on it, so keep it handy.

When to apply and why the deadline matters

An extension is only possible on a live visa, which is why the expiry date is the hard deadline. We ask Cape Verde travellers to contact us five to seven days ahead, because processing takes two to three working days and weekends and public holidays do not count. Back to back extensions should each be filed a few days before the running expiry, always within the 120 day cap.

Overstay rules in 2026

There is no grace period on a UAE visit visa. The overstay fine is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly across every emirate and visa category, from the first day past expiry. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. An expired visa means a visa change rather than an extension: pay the fine, then exit by air or bus with us and return on a new visa.

Options for Cape Verde visitors after 120 days

When the extensions are exhausted and 120 days are up, leaving the country is required. From there you have four routes: an airport to airport visa change at AED 1,550 with a same day return by flydubai, a visa change by bus to Oman from AED 1,000 over about one day, returning home and applying for a fresh visa later, or converting to a residence visa if an employer or family sponsor is available. Either exit route resets you on a new 60 day visa, and the same agency rule does not apply to them.

Why extensions get refused or delayed

  • Waiting until expiry day, which leaves no room for processing time.
  • Assuming any agency can extend. Only the issuer can, because immigration routes the request through the issuing account. Check who issued your visa before you plan.
  • Losing track of cumulative days. The 120 day cap runs from first entry, including every extension.
  • Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
  • Expecting an on arrival stamp to be extendable. It is not; a visa change is required instead.

Questions Cape Verde travellers ask us

Can I extend my UAE visit visa without exiting on a Cape Verde passport?

Yes. No exit is needed for agency issued visit visas within the extension limits and the 120 day cap, when processed by the original issuer.

What are the UAE visit visa extension fees?

One month costs AED 1,200 and two months cost AED 2,400, issued as two 30 day extensions. The fee does not vary by nationality, so Cape Verde passports pay the standard rate.

How long does a Visa extension take?

Expect two to three working days for a Cape Verde passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.

Can I extend my 30 day visa more than once?

Up to three times for a 30 day visa and twice for a 60 day visa, always within a 120 day ceiling.

Does the same agency rule apply to Cape Verde passports?

No. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the original visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account. If another agency issued your visa, contact them, or use an exit route with us: an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or the bus to Oman from AED 1,000, both giving a new 60 day visa.

When do fines start?

There is no grace period. Fines of AED 50 per day begin immediately after expiry, and an exit permit costing roughly AED 250 to 300 is needed if the overstay exceeds 30 days.

What about family members on Cape Verde passports?

Yes. Family extensions are handled as one application, and the total fee is eligible for instalments when a UAE resident books on the family’s behalf.

What if my extension is refused?

Refusals are rare when the eligibility rules are met. If immigration declines, the fee is not refundable because the government charge is paid at submission, and you would need to exit before expiry through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. We check eligibility carefully before you pay to keep this risk low.
