- Apply for your Visa extension with White Sky Travel
If you hold a Canada passport and your UAE visit visa is running out, a Visa extension lets you stay another 30 days without leaving the country. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. Here is everything a Canada traveller needs to know before applying: fees, limits, deadlines, paperwork and the alternatives when extension is no longer possible.
Short version: AED 1,200 per 30 days, processed in country in two to three working days for Canada passports, up to 120 days total. Apply a week before expiry via the agency that issued the original visa.
Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.
We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.
How an in country UAE visa extension works
A Visa extension without exit is an extension of your existing visit visa, not a new visa. We file the extension through the issuing account, and immigration updates the expiry date on your Canada passport record. There is no travel involved: you stay in the UAE, keep your accommodation and wait for the approval on WhatsApp.
Visa change by air or by bus means exiting and re entering on a new visa; a Visa extension avoids the exit altogether. For eligible Canada travellers the extension beats the exit routes on cost, effort and time away.
Who qualifies
Three factors decide whether a Canada passport holder can extend: the visa type, the number of extensions already taken, and the issuing agency. We check the position for Canada passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.
- Visit and tourist visa holders on a 30 day or 60 day visa issued through a travel agency. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days.
- Travellers who will remain within the 120 day ceiling after the extension is added.
- Visitors whose visa we issued. Immigration processes extensions through the original issuer’s account, so another agency cannot extend a visa we did not issue, and we cannot extend a visa issued elsewhere.
Where another agency issued the visa, either contact them for the extension or book an exit route with us: airport to airport at AED 1,550 or the Oman bus from AED 1,000, both of which issue a new 60 day visa whatever the original source. On arrival stamps and residence visas fall outside this service.

Visa extension fees for Canada passport holders
A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Canada included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.
- 1 month extension inside the UAE: AED 1,200
- Two month visa extension: AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions
The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Fines for overstaying are paid directly to immigration and sit outside the extension price. A Canada visitor needing 30 days should extend; one needing 60 days after the limit should look at the exit routes.
Instalment plans for UAE residents
If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Canada passport, the extension fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.
Documents required for a Visa extension on a Canada passport
Since immigration already has your file from the original visa, an extension needs only a few items. WhatsApp us:
- A scan of the passport, valid for a minimum of six months.
- One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
- Your present visa, needed to confirm eligibility and the dates.
Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. Should immigration want anything more for a Canada passport, we will contact you on WhatsApp at once.
The application process step by step
- Message +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 on WhatsApp five to seven days ahead of expiry with your documents. We review them and confirm eligibility within hours.
- Settle the AED 1,200 by secure link or instalments. The application goes to immigration after payment.
- The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Canada applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
- The approved extension arrives as a PDF on WhatsApp with the updated expiry. Store it alongside your passport.
Do not wait until the last day
The extension must be submitted before the current visa expires; an expired visa cannot be extended. We ask Canada travellers to contact us five to seven days ahead, because processing takes two to three working days and weekends and public holidays do not count. When chaining extensions, start each one a few days early and count your total days from the original entry.
Overstay rules in 2026
Once a visit visa expires, no extra days are granted. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. If your visa has already expired, extension is off the table; the practical route is to pay the fine and exit through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman, and we can arrange either.

What to do after the maximum extensions
Once a Canada visitor has used every extension and reached 120 days, exit is mandatory. Four options follow: airport to airport at AED 1,550 and back the same day, the bus to Oman from AED 1,000 taking roughly a day, a return home before a new visa, or a residence visa through an employer or family member. Either exit route resets you on a new 60 day visa, and the same agency rule does not apply to them.
Why extensions get refused or delayed
- Applying too late. Extensions cannot be filed after expiry, so contact us five to seven days ahead.
- Not knowing who issued the visa. Ask the person who arranged it, since the extension has to go through that agency.
- Miscounting the 120 days. Total stay is counted from the original entry date, not from the last extension, so keep a running tally.
- A passport expiring soon. Renew it before applying.
- Expecting an on arrival stamp to be extendable. It is not; a visa change is required instead.
Answers for Canada citizens
Is extension without exit possible for Canada citizens?
Yes. Agency issued 30 day and 60 day visit visas can be extended from inside the UAE without leaving, provided you still have extensions remaining, your total stay will not exceed 120 days, and the application goes through the agency that issued the visa.
What is the 1 month visa extension price in Dubai?
AED 1,200 for a 30 day extension and AED 2,400 for 60 days, with no nationality surcharge for Canada citizens.
How long does a Visa extension take?
Expect two to three working days for a Canada passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.
How many extensions are allowed?
Up to three times for a 30 day visa and twice for a 60 day visa, always within a 120 day ceiling.
Who can process my extension?
Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.
How many days can I stay after the visa ends?
No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.
Can spouse and children extend at the same time?
Yes. Family extensions are handled as one application, and the total fee is eligible for instalments when a UAE resident books on the family’s behalf.
What happens if it is not approved?
Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
