Visa extension for France citizens without leaving the UAE

When a France citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. Below you will find eligibility, pricing for France citizens, the extension limits, the application deadline and your options after 120 days.

Quick answer: a Visa extension for a France passport costs AED 1,200 per 30 days and is processed inside the UAE in two to three working days. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, up to a total stay of 120 days. Apply at least five to seven days before expiry, and note that the extension must be processed by the agency that issued the original visa.

Visa extension explained for France travellers

An in country Visa extension extends the visa you already hold rather than issuing a fresh one. The request goes to immigration under the account that issued the visa, and approval extends the expiry date linked to your France passport. No flight, no bus and no border: you remain where you are and receive the approval on WhatsApp.

The exit routes, airport to airport and bus to Oman, issue a brand new visa after you leave; an extension does not require leaving at all. Wherever a France citizen is still within the extension limits, this is the option we recommend before anything else.

Eligibility for France passport holders

A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. Send us a copy of your current visa on WhatsApp and we will confirm within the hour whether a France passport can be extended, or whether an exit route is the better option.

  • Visitors on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visit visa who have not yet reached the extension limit.
  • Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
  • Those whose visa came from White Sky Travel, since extensions run through the issuing account under immigration rules.

If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. Arrival stamps and residency visas are not extendable through an agency.

Visa extension fees for France passport holders

The Visa extension fee is AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, and the price is the same for every nationality, including France.

  • 1 month extension inside the UAE: AED 1,200
  • Sixty days of extension: AED 2,400, applied as two 30 day steps

The fee covers the government charge and our processing, and it is not refundable if immigration declines the extension, because the government fee is paid at submission. Overstay fines, if any, are paid by the traveller to immigration and are not part of the extension fee. For 30 extra days the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route; for a full 60 days with no extensions remaining, the airport to airport change or the bus route becomes the better buy for France travellers.

Instalment plans for UAE residents

Residents of the UAE booking for France visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. All other applicants receive a secure online payment link. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.

Documents required for a Visa extension on a France passport

Extensions need less paperwork than a new visa. Message us these three items on WhatsApp:

  1. A clear copy of your France passport, valid for at least six months.
  2. A white background colour photo in passport format, without eyewear.
  3. The current visa copy, which we use to check the expiry date and remaining extensions.

The extension does not call for a bank statement, accommodation proof or a return ticket. Immigration may occasionally request an additional document on a case by case basis, and we will tell you immediately if that happens for a France passport.

How to apply for a Visa extension from France

  1. Share your documents with us on WhatsApp at +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 with at least five to seven days remaining, and we confirm the same day.
  2. Complete payment through the link or instalment option we provide. We file the extension once payment clears.
  3. The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most France applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
  4. Once approved, we send the extension PDF on WhatsApp. It shows the new expiry date and should travel with your passport.

When to apply and why the deadline matters

Applications are only accepted while the visa is still valid. Once it expires, extension is no longer possible. Allow five to seven days: two to three working days for processing, plus a buffer for weekends and holidays. Back to back extensions should each be filed a few days before the running expiry, always within the 120 day cap.

Overstay rules in 2026

There is no grace period on a UAE visit visa. Every day beyond expiry costs AED 50, whichever emirate issued the visa, starting immediately. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before leaving. If your visa has already expired, extension is off the table; the practical route is to pay the fine and exit through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman, and we can arrange either.

Reaching the 120 day limit

Once a France visitor has used every extension and reached 120 days, exit is mandatory. You can fly out and back the same day for AED 1,550, take the Oman bus from AED 1,000, return to France and reapply, or switch to residency if you have a sponsor. Both exit routes issue a new 60 day tourist visa regardless of which agency issued the original, and we arrange either on WhatsApp.

How to keep your application on track

  • Waiting until expiry day, which leaves no room for processing time.
  • Not knowing who issued the visa. Ask the person who arranged it, since the extension has to go through that agency.
  • Forgetting that extensions add to the original stay rather than replacing it.
  • Less than six months on the passport, which blocks the extension.
  • Trying to extend a visa on arrival or a residence visa. This service covers agency issued visit visas only; other permits need a different route.

Answers for France citizens

Is extension without exit possible for France citizens?

You can. France passport holders on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa extend in country as long as extensions remain, the 120 day limit is respected, and the issuing agency files the request.

What are the UAE visit visa extension fees?

The extension fee is AED 1,200 for 30 days and AED 2,400 for 60 days (two back to back extensions), identical for all passports including France.

What is the processing time?

Expect two to three working days for a France passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.

How many extensions are allowed?

Up to three times for a 30 day visa and twice for a 60 day visa, always within a 120 day ceiling.

What if my visa came from a different agency?

Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.

Is there a grace period after my visa expires?

None. The AED 50 daily fine starts the day after the visa expires, with an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 added after 30 days of overstay.

What about family members on France passports?

Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.

Is the fee refundable on rejection?

Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
