The meaning of Visa extension for Finland passport holders

Unlike a visa change, a Visa extension keeps your existing visa and simply adds 30 days to it. Who qualifies

• Visitors on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visit visa who have not yet reached the extension limit.
• Applicants whose total stay, including the new extension, will not exceed 120 days from the original entry date.
• Visitors whose visa we issued. Immigration processes extensions through the original issuer’s account, so another agency cannot extend a visa we did not issue, and we cannot extend a visa issued elsewhere.

Where another agency issued the visa, either contact them for the extension or book an exit route with us: airport to airport at AED 1,550 or the Oman bus from AED 1,000, both of which issue a new 60 day visa whatever the original source. This service does not cover visa on arrival stamps or residence permits.

How much does a Visa extension cost?

Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, and unlike a new visa the fee does not change by nationality, so Finland passports pay the standard rate.

The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. If a fine has accrued, it is paid to immigration in addition to the extension fee. Spreading the cost

1. A clear copy of your Finland passport, valid for at least six months.
2. A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
3. A copy of your current UAE visit visa, so we can confirm the issue date, the expiry date and how many extensions have already been used.

Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. Immigration may occasionally request an additional document on a case by case basis, and we will tell you immediately if that happens for a Finland passport.

No grace period and the AED 50 daily fine

Visitors do not receive any grace days after the expiry date. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before leaving. If your visa has already expired, extension is off the table; the practical route is to pay the fine and exit through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman, and we can arrange either.

Options for Finland visitors after 120 days

At 120 days total, Finland passport holders must leave the UAE. From there you have four routes: an airport to airport visa change at AED 1,550 with a same day return by flydubai, a visa change by bus to Oman from AED 1,000 over about one day, returning home and applying for a fresh visa later, or converting to a residence visa if an employer or family sponsor is available. Both exit routes issue a new 60 day tourist visa regardless of which agency issued the original, and we arrange either on WhatsApp.
