If you hold a Iceland passport and your UAE visit visa is running out, a Visa extension lets you stay another 30 days without leaving the country. We process the extension for AED 1,200 per 30 day block, usually within two to three working days, and the whole application runs on WhatsApp. Read on for the rules that apply to Iceland passports: cost, number of extensions, timing, documents and the exit routes once the maximum is reached.
The essentials for Iceland citizens: AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, no exit required, two to three working days processing, a 120 day ceiling on total stay, and a five to seven day lead time before expiry. Only the issuing agency can process it.
Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.
We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.
The meaning of Visa extension for Iceland passport holders
Unlike a visa change, a Visa extension keeps your existing visa and simply adds 30 days to it. The request goes to immigration under the account that issued the visa, and approval extends the expiry date linked to your Iceland passport. Nothing physical happens on your side; you continue your visit and we send the approved extension on WhatsApp.
This is different from an airport to airport visa change or a visa change by bus to Oman, both of which involve leaving the UAE and returning on a completely new tourist visa. For Iceland visitors who still qualify, the extension is the cheapest and least disruptive option, and it is the one we recommend first.
Is a Visa extension available for Iceland citizens?
A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. WhatsApp us your visa copy and we will tell you straight away if an extension is possible for a Iceland passport or if you need a visa change instead.
- Anyone on a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa issued by an agency: three extensions for the 30 day visa, two for the 60 day visa, 30 days each time.
- Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
- Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.
If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. Visas issued on arrival and residence visas cannot be extended through this service.

UAE visit visa extension charges for Iceland citizens
We charge AED 1,200 for every 30 day extension regardless of nationality, so Iceland citizens pay exactly this figure.
- 1 month extension inside the UAE: AED 1,200
- Two month visa extension: AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions
The AED 1,200 includes the immigration fee and our service. It cannot be refunded on refusal, since the government charge is paid when the application is lodged. Any overstay fine is settled separately with immigration and is not included in the AED 1,200. Compared with the exit routes, the extension is usually the better value for a Iceland visitor who needs 30 more days, while a new 60 day visa through airport to airport or bus makes more sense when you need the full two months and have no extensions left.
Instalment plans for UAE residents
UAE residents arranging a Visa extension for a family member or friend from Iceland can split the AED 1,200 using Tabby with up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable terms, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month plans depending on the issuing bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.
Documents required for a Visa extension on a Iceland passport
Since immigration already has your file from the original visa, an extension needs only a few items. WhatsApp us:
- A clear copy of your Iceland passport, valid for at least six months.
- One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
- A copy of your current UAE visit visa, so we can confirm the issue date, the expiry date and how many extensions have already been used.
No bank statement, hotel booking or return ticket is required for the extension itself. Immigration may occasionally request an additional document on a case by case basis, and we will tell you immediately if that happens for a Iceland passport.
The application process step by step
- WhatsApp your documents to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 a week before expiry. We verify the dates and confirm whether a Iceland passport can be extended.
- Pay through the secure link or instalment plan we send. Submission to immigration starts only after payment is received.
- We lodge the application and track it. Approval for Iceland passports usually takes two to three working days; immigration can sometimes extend this.
- Once approved, we send the extension PDF on WhatsApp. It shows the new expiry date and should travel with your passport.
Do not wait until the last day
Immigration will not extend a visa that has already lapsed, so the request has to be in before the expiry date. Because approval takes two to three working days and government offices close at weekends and on public holidays, Iceland passport holders should message us five to seven days before expiry. When chaining extensions, start each one a few days early and count your total days from the original entry.
No grace period and the AED 50 daily fine
UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. An expired visa attracts AED 50 per day in fines from day one, and the rate is the same everywhere in the UAE. After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 becomes necessary as well. Once expired, the visa cannot be extended. You settle the fine and use an exit route, airport to airport or bus, which we organise for Iceland travellers.

What to do after the maximum extensions
The 120 day ceiling is absolute; after it, every Iceland visitor has to exit. You can fly out and back the same day for AED 1,550, take the Oman bus from AED 1,000, return to Iceland and reapply, or switch to residency if you have a sponsor. Both exit routes issue a new 60 day tourist visa regardless of which agency issued the original, and we arrange either on WhatsApp.
Mistakes to avoid
- Applying too late. Extensions cannot be filed after expiry, so contact us five to seven days ahead.
- Approaching a different agency. The same agency rule means we can only extend visas we issued; for others, use an exit route.
- Losing track of cumulative days. The 120 day cap runs from first entry, including every extension.
- Passport validity under six months. Immigration will not extend a visa on a passport close to expiry.
- Confusing residency or arrival stamps with agency visit visas, which are the only ones we can extend.
Questions Iceland travellers ask us
Can Iceland passport holders extend in country?
Yes, without leaving the country. The conditions are an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa, extensions still available, a total stay under 120 days, and processing through the issuing agency.
What is the 1 month visa extension price in Dubai?
One month costs AED 1,200 and two months cost AED 2,400, issued as two 30 day extensions. The fee does not vary by nationality, so Iceland passports pay the standard rate.
How long does a Visa extension take?
Expect two to three working days for a Iceland passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.
How many extensions are allowed?
The limit is 120 days in total: three 30 day extensions on a 30 day visa, or two on a 60 day visa.
Who can process my extension?
Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.
Can I stay a few days after expiry?
No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.
What about family members on Iceland passports?
Certainly. We extend the whole family at once, and residents sponsoring Iceland relatives can pay the combined AED 1,200 per person on an instalment plan.
Can immigration decline an extension?
Refusals are rare when the eligibility rules are met. If immigration declines, the fee is not refundable because the government charge is paid at submission, and you would need to exit before expiry through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. We check eligibility carefully before you pay to keep this risk low.
