Italy passport Visa extension: fees, rules and process

If you hold a Italy passport and your UAE visit visa is running out, a Visa extension lets you stay another 30 days without leaving the country. We process the extension for AED 1,200 per 30 day block, usually within two to three working days, and the whole application runs on WhatsApp. This page explains who qualifies, what a Italy passport holder pays, how many times you can extend, the deadline to apply, and what happens once you reach the 120 day limit.

In short: Italy passport holders pay AED 1,200 for each 30 day Visa extension, approved in two to three working days without leaving the country. Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 120 days maximum. Apply five to seven days before expiry through the agency that issued your visa.

The meaning of Visa extension for Italy passport holders

A Visa extension is an extension of the current permit; the visa number stays the same and the expiry date moves forward by 30 days. Immigration processes the extension under the original issuer’s account and records the new expiry against your Italy passport. No flight, no bus and no border: you remain where you are and receive the approval on WhatsApp.

The exit routes, airport to airport and bus to Oman, issue a brand new visa after you leave; an extension does not require leaving at all. For eligible Italy travellers the extension beats the exit routes on cost, effort and time away.

Is a Visa extension available for Italy citizens?

A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. We check the position for Italy passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.

  • Visit and tourist visa holders on a 30 day or 60 day visa issued through a travel agency. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days.
  • Travellers who will remain within the 120 day ceiling after the extension is added.
  • Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.

If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. Visas issued on arrival and residence visas cannot be extended through this service.

Visa extension fees for Italy passport holders

A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Italy included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.

  • A single 30 day block: AED 1,200
  • 60 day extension: AED 2,400 (two 30 day extensions back to back)

The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Fines for overstaying are paid directly to immigration and sit outside the extension price. Compared with the exit routes, the extension is usually the better value for a Italy visitor who needs 30 more days, while a new 60 day visa through airport to airport or bus makes more sense when you need the full two months and have no extensions left.

Instalment plans for UAE residents

For UAE residents applying on behalf of Italy family or friends, the AED 1,200 can be spread with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online. Family extensions are handled together, and the combined total can be split the same way.

Paperwork for a Visa extension

Since immigration already has your file from the original visa, an extension needs only a few items. WhatsApp us:

  1. Passport copy showing at least six months validity.
  2. One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
  3. A copy of your current UAE visit visa, so we can confirm the issue date, the expiry date and how many extensions have already been used.

Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. Should immigration want anything more for a Italy passport, we will contact you on WhatsApp at once.

How to apply for a Visa extension from Italy

  1. Message +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 on WhatsApp five to seven days ahead of expiry with your documents. We review them and confirm eligibility within hours.
  2. Pay through the secure link or instalment plan we send. Submission to immigration starts only after payment is received.
  3. We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Italy citizens is two to three working days.
  4. We forward the extension PDF on WhatsApp; the new expiry date is on it, so keep it handy.

Timing your Visa extension

Immigration will not extend a visa that has already lapsed, so the request has to be in before the expiry date. We ask Italy travellers to contact us five to seven days ahead, because processing takes two to three working days and weekends and public holidays do not count. For consecutive extensions, submit each new request a few days before the previous extension expires and track your cumulative stay against the 120 day limit.

What happens if you miss the deadline

Visitors do not receive any grace days after the expiry date. The overstay fine is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly across every emirate and visa category, from the first day past expiry. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before leaving. If your visa has already expired, extension is off the table; the practical route is to pay the fine and exit through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman, and we can arrange either.

Options for Italy visitors after 120 days

At 120 days total, Italy passport holders must leave the UAE. The choices are an airport to airport change (AED 1,550, same day, flydubai), the Oman bus route (from AED 1,000, about a day), going home and applying afresh, or moving to a residence visa where a sponsor exists. The two exit routes each provide a fresh 60 day visa whoever issued the first one, and we organise both.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Applying too late. Extensions cannot be filed after expiry, so contact us five to seven days ahead.
  • Not knowing who issued the visa. Ask the person who arranged it, since the extension has to go through that agency.
  • Assuming the clock resets with each extension. It does not; 120 days is the total from entry.
  • Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
  • Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.

Frequently asked questions about Visa extension for Italy passport

Do I have to leave the UAE to extend?

Yes, without leaving the country. The conditions are an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa, extensions still available, a total stay under 120 days, and processing through the issuing agency.

How much is a 2 month extension?

AED 1,200 for a 30 day extension and AED 2,400 for 60 days, with no nationality surcharge for Italy citizens.

How long does a Visa extension take?

Most extensions are approved within two to three working days. Weekends and public holidays are not counted, and immigration may occasionally take longer, so apply five to seven days before expiry.

How many times can a Italy citizen extend a UAE tourist visa?

Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 30 days each. Total stay cannot exceed 120 days from the original entry.

Does the same agency rule apply to Italy passports?

The same agency rule applies to every nationality, Italy included. If we did not issue the visa, we cannot extend it, but we can reset you on a new 60 day visa by air (AED 1,550) or bus (from AED 1,000).

How many days can I stay after the visa ends?

No grace days exist. Overstaying costs AED 50 per day from day one, plus an exit permit of approximately AED 250 to 300 once the overstay passes 30 days.

What about family members on Italy passports?

Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.

What happens if it is not approved?

Immigration can decline at its discretion, though it seldom does for eligible Italy applicants. The fee is not returned on refusal, and an exit route becomes necessary before expiry.
