A Visa extension allows Papua New Guinea passport holders to add 30 days to a UAE visit visa without exiting, flying anywhere or crossing a border. The fee is AED 1,200 for each 30 day extension, approval normally arrives in two to three working days, and everything is handled on WhatsApp. This page explains who qualifies, what a Papua New Guinea passport holder pays, how many times you can extend, the deadline to apply, and what happens once you reach the 120 day limit.
In short: Papua New Guinea passport holders pay AED 1,200 for each 30 day Visa extension, approved in two to three working days without leaving the country. Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 120 days maximum. Apply five to seven days before expiry through the agency that issued your visa.

Visa extension explained for Papua New Guinea travellers
A Visa extension is an extension of the current permit; the visa number stays the same and the expiry date moves forward by 30 days. The request goes to immigration under the account that issued the visa, and approval extends the expiry date linked to your Papua New Guinea passport. Nothing physical happens on your side; you continue your visit and we send the approved extension on WhatsApp.
The exit routes, airport to airport and bus to Oman, issue a brand new visa after you leave; an extension does not require leaving at all. Wherever a Papua New Guinea citizen is still within the extension limits, this is the option we recommend before anything else.
Eligibility for Papua New Guinea passport holders
Eligibility for a Visa extension depends on three things: the visa you hold, how many extensions you have already used, and which agency issued the visa. WhatsApp us your visa copy and we will tell you straight away if an extension is possible for a Papua New Guinea passport or if you need a visa change instead.
- Tourist visa holders with extensions remaining: up to three on a 30 day visa and up to two on a 60 day visa.
- Applicants whose total stay, including the new extension, will not exceed 120 days from the original entry date.
- Holders of a visa issued by us. The UAE system routes extension requests through the issuing agency, which is why the same agency rule applies.
Visas issued elsewhere can be extended by that agency; alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or a bus visa change from AED 1,000, each providing a new 60 day visa. This service does not cover visa on arrival stamps or residence permits.

Visa extension fees for Papua New Guinea passport holders
We charge AED 1,200 for every 30 day extension regardless of nationality, so Papua New Guinea citizens pay exactly this figure.
- A single 30 day block: AED 1,200
- Two month visa extension: AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions
The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Any overstay fine is settled separately with immigration and is not included in the AED 1,200. For 30 extra days the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route; for a full 60 days with no extensions remaining, the airport to airport change or the bus route becomes the better buy for Papua New Guinea travellers.
Payment options
If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Papua New Guinea passport, the extension fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp. Group applications for a family are processed as one, with the total eligible for instalments.
Visa extension requirements for Papua New Guinea passport holders
The document list for an extension is short, because immigration already holds your details from the original visa. Send these on WhatsApp:
- A scan of the passport, valid for a minimum of six months.
- A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.
- Your existing visa PDF, which tells us the entry date, expiry and extension count.
No bank statement, hotel booking or return ticket is required for the extension itself. Immigration can request further documents at its discretion, and we pass any such request on to Papua New Guinea travellers without delay.
The application process step by step
- Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 at least five to seven days before your visa expires. We check the expiry date and extension count and confirm eligibility the same day.
- Pay through the secure link or instalment plan we send. Submission to immigration starts only after payment is received.
- The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Papua New Guinea applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
- You receive the approved extension as a PDF on WhatsApp showing the new expiry date. Keep it with your passport for the rest of your stay.
The five to seven day rule for Papua New Guinea visitors
An extension is only possible on a live visa, which is why the expiry date is the hard deadline. With two to three working days of processing and no weekend service, a five to seven day lead time protects Papua New Guinea visitors from missing the deadline. For consecutive extensions, submit each new request a few days before the previous extension expires and track your cumulative stay against the 120 day limit.
No grace period and the AED 50 daily fine
UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. An expired visa means a visa change rather than an extension: pay the fine, then exit by air or bus with us and return on a new visa.

When extension is no longer possible
The 120 day ceiling is absolute; after it, every Papua New Guinea visitor has to exit. The choices are an airport to airport change (AED 1,550, same day, flydubai), the Oman bus route (from AED 1,000, about a day), going home and applying afresh, or moving to a residence visa where a sponsor exists. Both exit routes issue a new 60 day tourist visa regardless of which agency issued the original, and we arrange either on WhatsApp.
Why extensions get refused or delayed
- Waiting until expiry day, which leaves no room for processing time.
- Expecting a third party to extend a visa it did not issue, which the system does not allow.
- Losing track of cumulative days. The 120 day cap runs from first entry, including every extension.
- Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
- Expecting an on arrival stamp to be extendable. It is not; a visa change is required instead.
Papua New Guinea passport Visa extension FAQ
Is extension without exit possible for Papua New Guinea citizens?
Yes. No exit is needed for agency issued visit visas within the extension limits and the 120 day cap, when processed by the original issuer.
How much does a Visa extension cost for Papua New Guinea citizens?
AED 1,200 for a 30 day extension and AED 2,400 for 60 days, with no nationality surcharge for Papua New Guinea citizens.
How many days until approval?
Usually two to three working days. Because government offices close at weekends, Papua New Guinea travellers should allow five to seven days before the visa expires.
How many times can a Papua New Guinea citizen extend a UAE tourist visa?
Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 30 days each. Total stay cannot exceed 120 days from the original entry.
Does the same agency rule apply to Papua New Guinea passports?
The same agency rule applies to every nationality, Papua New Guinea included. If we did not issue the visa, we cannot extend it, but we can reset you on a new 60 day visa by air (AED 1,550) or bus (from AED 1,000).
Can I stay a few days after expiry?
No grace days exist. Overstaying costs AED 50 per day from day one, plus an exit permit of approximately AED 250 to 300 once the overstay passes 30 days.
Can spouse and children extend at the same time?
Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.
What if my extension is refused?
Refusals are rare when the eligibility rules are met. If immigration declines, the fee is not refundable because the government charge is paid at submission, and you would need to exit before expiry through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. We check eligibility carefully before you pay to keep this risk low.
