When a Romania citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. This page explains who qualifies, what a Romania passport holder pays, how many times you can extend, the deadline to apply, and what happens once you reach the 120 day limit.
Quick answer: a Visa extension for a Romania passport costs AED 1,200 per 30 days and is processed inside the UAE in two to three working days. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, up to a total stay of 120 days. Apply at least five to seven days before expiry, and note that the extension must be processed by the agency that issued the original visa.
Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.
We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.
What is a Visa extension without exit?
A Visa extension without exit is an extension of your existing visit visa, not a new visa. The request goes to immigration under the account that issued the visa, and approval extends the expiry date linked to your Romania passport. No flight, no bus and no border: you remain where you are and receive the approval on WhatsApp.
The exit routes, airport to airport and bus to Oman, issue a brand new visa after you leave; an extension does not require leaving at all. If a Romania passport holder is still eligible, the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route, so it is always our first suggestion.
Is a Visa extension available for Romania citizens?
Eligibility for a Visa extension depends on three things: the visa you hold, how many extensions you have already used, and which agency issued the visa. WhatsApp us your visa copy and we will tell you straight away if an extension is possible for a Romania passport or if you need a visa change instead.
- Anyone on a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa issued by an agency: three extensions for the 30 day visa, two for the 60 day visa, 30 days each time.
- Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
- Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.
Visas issued elsewhere can be extended by that agency; alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or a bus visa change from AED 1,000, each providing a new 60 day visa. This service does not cover visa on arrival stamps or residence permits.

How much does a Visa extension cost?
Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, and unlike a new visa the fee does not change by nationality, so Romania passports pay the standard rate.
- A single 30 day block: AED 1,200
- Two month visa extension: AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions
The fee covers the government charge and our processing, and it is not refundable if immigration declines the extension, because the government fee is paid at submission. If a fine has accrued, it is paid to immigration in addition to the extension fee. Compared with the exit routes, the extension is usually the better value for a Romania visitor who needs 30 more days, while a new 60 day visa through airport to airport or bus makes more sense when you need the full two months and have no extensions left.
Payment options
UAE residents arranging a Visa extension for a family member or friend from Romania can split the AED 1,200 using Tabby with up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable terms, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month plans depending on the issuing bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online. Family extensions are handled together, and the combined total can be split the same way.
What Romania citizens need to send us
Extensions need less paperwork than a new visa. Message us these three items on WhatsApp:
- A scan of the passport, valid for a minimum of six months.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- Your existing visa PDF, which tells us the entry date, expiry and extension count.
Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. In rare cases immigration asks for something extra; if so, we let Romania applicants know straight away.
How Romania citizens apply
- Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 at least five to seven days before your visa expires. We check the expiry date and extension count and confirm eligibility the same day.
- Settle the AED 1,200 by secure link or instalments. The application goes to immigration after payment.
- We lodge the application and track it. Approval for Romania passports usually takes two to three working days; immigration can sometimes extend this.
- Once approved, we send the extension PDF on WhatsApp. It shows the new expiry date and should travel with your passport.
Timing your Visa extension
Immigration will not extend a visa that has already lapsed, so the request has to be in before the expiry date. Because approval takes two to three working days and government offices close at weekends and on public holidays, Romania passport holders should message us five to seven days before expiry. If you plan to extend more than once, apply for the next extension a few days before the current one ends, and keep an eye on the 120 day total.
What happens if you miss the deadline
UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. The overstay fine is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly across every emirate and visa category, from the first day past expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. After expiry the only option is an exit route; we handle the airport to airport change or the Oman bus for Romania passports.

Options for Romania visitors after 120 days
At 120 days total, Romania passport holders must leave the UAE. The choices are an airport to airport change (AED 1,550, same day, flydubai), the Oman bus route (from AED 1,000, about a day), going home and applying afresh, or moving to a residence visa where a sponsor exists. The two exit routes each provide a fresh 60 day visa whoever issued the first one, and we organise both.
Why extensions get refused or delayed
- Missing the deadline. Once the visa lapses, only an exit route remains.
- Assuming any agency can extend. Only the issuer can, because immigration routes the request through the issuing account. Check who issued your visa before you plan.
- Assuming the clock resets with each extension. It does not; 120 days is the total from entry.
- Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
- Confusing residency or arrival stamps with agency visit visas, which are the only ones we can extend.
Questions Romania travellers ask us
Do I have to leave the UAE to extend?
Yes. Agency issued 30 day and 60 day visit visas can be extended from inside the UAE without leaving, provided you still have extensions remaining, your total stay will not exceed 120 days, and the application goes through the agency that issued the visa.
What are the UAE visit visa extension fees?
The extension fee is AED 1,200 for 30 days and AED 2,400 for 60 days (two back to back extensions), identical for all passports including Romania.
How many days until approval?
Expect two to three working days for a Romania passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.
What is the maximum stay?
A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days. The maximum continuous stay on any UAE tourist visa is 120 days, after which exit is mandatory.
What if my visa came from a different agency?
Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.
When do fines start?
None. The AED 50 daily fine starts the day after the visa expires, with an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 added after 30 days of overstay.
Can spouse and children extend at the same time?
Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.
Can immigration decline an extension?
Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
