Uganda passport Visa extension: fees, rules and process

When a Uganda citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. Below you will find eligibility, pricing for Uganda citizens, the extension limits, the application deadline and your options after 120 days.

The essentials for Uganda citizens: AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, no exit required, two to three working days processing, a 120 day ceiling on total stay, and a five to seven day lead time before expiry. Only the issuing agency can process it.

Visa extension explained for Uganda travellers

Unlike a visa change, a Visa extension keeps your existing visa and simply adds 30 days to it. Immigration processes the extension under the original issuer’s account and records the new expiry against your Uganda passport. There is no travel involved: you stay in the UAE, keep your accommodation and wait for the approval on WhatsApp.

The exit routes, airport to airport and bus to Oman, issue a brand new visa after you leave; an extension does not require leaving at all. For eligible Uganda travellers the extension beats the exit routes on cost, effort and time away.

Who from Uganda can apply for a Visa extension?

Three factors decide whether a Uganda passport holder can extend: the visa type, the number of extensions already taken, and the issuing agency. Message a photo of your visa to our WhatsApp and we confirm eligibility for Uganda citizens before you pay anything.

  • Visit and tourist visa holders on a 30 day or 60 day visa issued through a travel agency. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days.
  • Applicants whose total stay, including the new extension, will not exceed 120 days from the original entry date.
  • Those whose visa came from White Sky Travel, since extensions run through the issuing account under immigration rules.

Visas issued elsewhere can be extended by that agency; alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or a bus visa change from AED 1,000, each providing a new 60 day visa. Arrival stamps and residency visas are not extendable through an agency.

UAE visit visa extension charges for Uganda citizens

The Visa extension fee is AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, and the price is the same for every nationality, including Uganda.

  • 1 month extension inside the UAE: AED 1,200
  • Sixty days of extension: AED 2,400, applied as two 30 day steps

The AED 1,200 includes the immigration fee and our service. It cannot be refunded on refusal, since the government charge is paid when the application is lodged. Any overstay fine is settled separately with immigration and is not included in the AED 1,200. A Uganda visitor needing 30 days should extend; one needing 60 days after the limit should look at the exit routes.

Spreading the cost

If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Uganda passport, the extension fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.

What Uganda citizens need to send us

The document list for an extension is short, because immigration already holds your details from the original visa. Send these on WhatsApp:

  1. A scan of the passport, valid for a minimum of six months.
  2. One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
  3. Your present visa, needed to confirm eligibility and the dates.

No bank statement, hotel booking or return ticket is required for the extension itself. Immigration may occasionally request an additional document on a case by case basis, and we will tell you immediately if that happens for a Uganda passport.

How Uganda citizens apply

  1. Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 at least five to seven days before your visa expires. We check the expiry date and extension count and confirm eligibility the same day.
  2. Pay through the secure link or instalment plan we send. Submission to immigration starts only after payment is received.
  3. We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Uganda citizens is two to three working days.
  4. Once approved, we send the extension PDF on WhatsApp. It shows the new expiry date and should travel with your passport.

When to apply and why the deadline matters

An extension is only possible on a live visa, which is why the expiry date is the hard deadline. Allow five to seven days: two to three working days for processing, plus a buffer for weekends and holidays. Back to back extensions should each be filed a few days before the running expiry, always within the 120 day cap.

What happens if you miss the deadline

There is no grace period on a UAE visit visa. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. After expiry the only option is an exit route; we handle the airport to airport change or the Oman bus for Uganda passports.

Options for Uganda visitors after 120 days

At 120 days total, Uganda passport holders must leave the UAE. Four options follow: airport to airport at AED 1,550 and back the same day, the bus to Oman from AED 1,000 taking roughly a day, a return home before a new visa, or a residence visa through an employer or family member. The two exit routes each provide a fresh 60 day visa whoever issued the first one, and we organise both.

Why extensions get refused or delayed

  • Leaving it to the last day. An expired visa cannot be extended, so allow a week.
  • Assuming any agency can extend. Only the issuer can, because immigration routes the request through the issuing account. Check who issued your visa before you plan.
  • Forgetting that extensions add to the original stay rather than replacing it.
  • A passport expiring soon. Renew it before applying.
  • Trying to extend a visa on arrival or a residence visa. This service covers agency issued visit visas only; other permits need a different route.

Answers for Uganda citizens

Do I have to leave the UAE to extend?

Yes, without leaving the country. The conditions are an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa, extensions still available, a total stay under 120 days, and processing through the issuing agency.

What is the 1 month visa extension price in Dubai?

The extension fee is AED 1,200 for 30 days and AED 2,400 for 60 days (two back to back extensions), identical for all passports including Uganda.

What is the processing time?

Typically two to three working days, excluding weekends and public holidays. Immigration can take longer in some cases, which is why a five to seven day lead time is recommended.

Can I extend my 30 day visa more than once?

The limit is 120 days in total: three 30 day extensions on a 30 day visa, or two on a 60 day visa.

Can I extend a visa issued by another agency?

Extensions go through the issuer’s account, so a visa from another agency must be extended by them. Alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change or the Oman bus, neither of which depends on who issued the first visa.

Is there a grace period after my visa expires?

No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.

What about family members on Uganda passports?

Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.

Is the fee refundable on rejection?

Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
