Visa extension without exit for Vietnam passport holders

For travellers from Vietnam, the Visa extension is the simplest way to stay longer: no airport, no bus, just a 30 day extension processed while you remain in the UAE. The fee is AED 1,200 for each 30 day extension, approval normally arrives in two to three working days, and everything is handled on WhatsApp. Below you will find eligibility, pricing for Vietnam citizens, the extension limits, the application deadline and your options after 120 days.

In short: Vietnam passport holders pay AED 1,200 for each 30 day Visa extension, approved in two to three working days without leaving the country. Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 120 days maximum. Apply five to seven days before expiry through the agency that issued your visa.

Visa extension explained for Vietnam travellers

An in country Visa extension extends the visa you already hold rather than issuing a fresh one. We file the extension through the issuing account, and immigration updates the expiry date on your Vietnam passport record. You do not leave the country at any point; the approval arrives on WhatsApp while you carry on with your stay.

It should not be confused with the airport to airport change or the Oman bus route, which reset you on a new visa after an exit. Wherever a Vietnam citizen is still within the extension limits, this is the option we recommend before anything else.

Eligibility for Vietnam passport holders

Whether you qualify comes down to your current visa, your extension history and who issued the original visa. We check the position for Vietnam passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.

  • Anyone on a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa issued by an agency: three extensions for the 30 day visa, two for the 60 day visa, 30 days each time.
  • Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
  • Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.

Visas issued elsewhere can be extended by that agency; alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or a bus visa change from AED 1,000, each providing a new 60 day visa. Visas issued on arrival and residence visas cannot be extended through this service.

Vietnam passport Visa extension price

A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Vietnam included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.

  • One month visa extension: AED 1,200 for 30 days
  • 2 month extension: AED 2,400, issued as two separate 30 day approvals

The AED 1,200 includes the immigration fee and our service. It cannot be refunded on refusal, since the government charge is paid when the application is lodged. Overstay fines, if any, are paid by the traveller to immigration and are not part of the extension fee. If you only need a month, extend; if you need two months and have run out of extensions, a new visa by air or bus is the better route for a Vietnam passport.

Spreading the cost

For UAE residents applying on behalf of Vietnam family or friends, the AED 1,200 can be spread with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online. We extend spouses and children together and apply one instalment plan to the combined fee.

Paperwork for a Visa extension

The document list for an extension is short, because immigration already holds your details from the original visa. Send these on WhatsApp:

  1. Your Vietnam passport data page, with six months or more validity remaining.
  2. A white background colour photo in passport format, without eyewear.
  3. The current visa copy, which we use to check the expiry date and remaining extensions.

No bank statement, hotel booking or return ticket is required for the extension itself. Immigration may occasionally request an additional document on a case by case basis, and we will tell you immediately if that happens for a Vietnam passport.

Getting your extension in four steps

  1. Message +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 on WhatsApp five to seven days ahead of expiry with your documents. We review them and confirm eligibility within hours.
  2. Complete payment through the link or instalment option we provide. We file the extension once payment clears.
  3. The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Vietnam applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
  4. You receive the approved extension as a PDF on WhatsApp showing the new expiry date. Keep it with your passport for the rest of your stay.

Do not wait until the last day

Immigration will not extend a visa that has already lapsed, so the request has to be in before the expiry date. With two to three working days of processing and no weekend service, a five to seven day lead time protects Vietnam visitors from missing the deadline. For consecutive extensions, submit each new request a few days before the previous extension expires and track your cumulative stay against the 120 day limit.

Overstay rules in 2026

Visitors do not receive any grace days after the expiry date. An expired visa attracts AED 50 per day in fines from day one, and the rate is the same everywhere in the UAE. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. If your visa has already expired, extension is off the table; the practical route is to pay the fine and exit through an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman, and we can arrange either.

When extension is no longer possible

At 120 days total, Vietnam passport holders must leave the UAE. Four options follow: airport to airport at AED 1,550 and back the same day, the bus to Oman from AED 1,000 taking roughly a day, a return home before a new visa, or a residence visa through an employer or family member. The two exit routes each provide a fresh 60 day visa whoever issued the first one, and we organise both.

Common problems for Vietnam applicants and how we prevent them

  • Missing the deadline. Once the visa lapses, only an exit route remains.
  • Not knowing who issued the visa. Ask the person who arranged it, since the extension has to go through that agency.
  • Forgetting that extensions add to the original stay rather than replacing it.
  • Less than six months on the passport, which blocks the extension.
  • Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.

Vietnam passport Visa extension FAQ

Do I have to leave the UAE to extend?

Yes. No exit is needed for agency issued visit visas within the extension limits and the 120 day cap, when processed by the original issuer.

How much does a Visa extension cost for Vietnam citizens?

The extension fee is AED 1,200 for 30 days and AED 2,400 for 60 days (two back to back extensions), identical for all passports including Vietnam.

When will I receive the extension?

Expect two to three working days for a Vietnam passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.

How many extensions are allowed?

Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 30 days each. Total stay cannot exceed 120 days from the original entry.

Does the same agency rule apply to Vietnam passports?

Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.

How many days can I stay after the visa ends?

None. The AED 50 daily fine starts the day after the visa expires, with an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 added after 30 days of overstay.

Is there a family extension option?

Certainly. We extend the whole family at once, and residents sponsoring Vietnam relatives can pay the combined AED 1,200 per person on an instalment plan.

Can immigration decline an extension?

Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
