Dubai visa for Costa Rica citizens: price, documents and process

The shortest UAE tourist visa is 30 days; there is no shorter tourist visa. All visa fees, including our service fee, are not refundable if immigration rejects the application, because the government charge is paid at submission.

A note on deposits

Some passports are asked for a refundable security deposit. It is not part of the prices listed, it comes back to you after your exit from the country, and we state clearly on WhatsApp whether a Costa Rica passport is affected.

Instalment plans for UAE residents

Paperwork for a Dubai visa

Send these on WhatsApp and we can usually confirm eligibility within the hour:

1. Front page and back cover of the passport, six months validity minimum. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
2. A white background colour photo in passport format, without eyewear.
3. A return or two way flight ticket; if you do not have one, we can arrange the flights.
4. For minors, a birth certificate. For a few nationalities, a copy of the national ID card is also required.

Bank statement requirements depend on nationality. Should Costa Rica be one of the passports that needs one, a relative in the UAE can submit their own statement for you. On arrival, immigration may request evidence of funds, so have a bank card or cash to hand.

Guarantor documents

When a UAE resident applies on behalf of a Costa Rica visitor, we also need the sponsor’s passport copy valid for six months, residence visa page valid for six months, Emirates ID front and back, and the guarantee form completed at applyvisa.app. A family member’s UAE bank statement can replace the visitor’s statement if one is required, though friends cannot substitute theirs.

How long the Dubai visa is valid

The permit is valid for entry for 60 days from issue. Your permitted stay runs from the entry stamp, not from the issue date. A single entry visa allows one arrival; a multiple entry visa lets you leave and re enter as often as you like within the validity, which suits travellers combining the UAE with Oman, Saudi Arabia or Qatar. A tourist visa does not permit employment in the UAE.

Why the expiry date matters

UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. Every day beyond expiry costs AED 50, whichever emirate issued the visa, starting immediately. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. Staying longer than 30 or 60 days

A 30 day visa can be extended three times for 30 days each, and a 60 day visa twice for 30 days each, with no exit required. Total time in the UAE cannot exceed 120 days. After the limit, the only way to stay on is to leave and come back on a new visa, by air through an airport to airport change or by bus via Oman. Extensions are only accepted before expiry, so message us while you still have a week or more left.

Sharjah 60 day visa

For Costa Rica travellers who prefer it, the Sharjah 60 day single entry visa costs AED 1,200 and carries no deposit. It is valid for the whole UAE, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Ask us on WhatsApp which option is better for a Costa Rica passport.

Why applications get held up

• Missing passport back cover. Include it with your first message to avoid resubmission.
• Less than six months on the passport. Immigration will not approve the visa in that case.
• Unclear document images. A clean, well lit scan avoids delays.
• Earlier violations or uncancelled visas. Be open with us so we can check the record first.
• Single name passports. If your Costa Rica passport shows only one name and no supporting document shows a full name, the visa cannot be processed, so contact us before paying.
• Tight timelines. Three working days is the minimum, and peak seasons need more.

Can I extend a Dubai visa without leaving the UAE?

It can be extended in country: three times for a 30 day visa, twice for a 60 day visa, 30 days each, with a 120 day ceiling. After that, exit and re enter on a new visa.

Are there any grace days?

No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.

Can I get my money back on refusal?

No refund applies on refusal, since immigration retains the processing charge. You can apply again once the problem is addressed.

What about children on Costa Rica passports?

Yes. Children require an individual visa at the standard price. We need the passport, photo and birth certificate for each minor.

Can I work in the UAE on a Dubai visa?

No. A tourist visa does not permit employment. You may attend interviews and visit, but working requires a residence visa sponsored by an employer.
