Validity and duration of stay

You have 60 days from the issue date to enter the UAE. Your permitted stay runs from the entry stamp, not from the issue date. With single entry you may arrive once; multiple entry permits several arrivals within the validity, ideal for regional itineraries that pass through Oman, Saudi Arabia or Qatar. The visa is for visiting only and does not allow you to take up work.

What happens if you overstay

There is no grace period on a UAE tourist visa. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. We remind Kiribati travellers on WhatsApp before the expiry date, giving you time to act.

Staying longer than 30 or 60 days

A 30 day visa can be extended three times for 30 days each, and a 60 day visa twice for 30 days each, with no exit required. Total time in the UAE cannot exceed 120 days. At the 120 day point, a new visa requires an exit, which can be done by an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. Extensions are only accepted before expiry, so message us while you still have a week or more left.
