Is a Dubai visa required for Mauritius citizens?

Most nationalities need a prearranged visa before flying to the UAE, and that is what we issue. Certain passports qualify for visa on arrival, and eligibility rules shift from year to year. Message us a photo of your Mauritius passport on WhatsApp and we will confirm which rule applies before any payment is taken.

What a Dubai visa costs from Dubai

Here is the September 2026 price list for Mauritius passport holders:

  • 30 days, single entry: AED 450
  • 60 days, single entry: AED 650
  • 30 days, multiple entry: AED 800
  • 60 days, multiple entry: AED 1,000

The shortest UAE tourist visa is 30 days; there is no shorter tourist visa. Should immigration refuse the application, the fee is not returned, as it covers government processing.

Security deposits explained

For a limited set of countries a refundable deposit is requested. The deposit sits apart from the visa fee, is returned after you leave the UAE, and we confirm the amount for Mauritius citizens on WhatsApp before booking.

Spreading the cost

Residents of the UAE booking for Mauritius visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link.

What Mauritius citizens need to send us

Message us these items on WhatsApp and we will normally confirm your eligibility within an hour:

  1. Front page and back cover of the passport, six months validity minimum. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
  2. One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
  3. Confirmed two way flight booking. We can book the flights on your behalf if needed.
  4. For minors, a birth certificate. For a few nationalities, a copy of the national ID card is also required.

Depending on nationality, a six month bank statement may be requested. If that applies to Mauritius applicants, a UAE resident family member can provide theirs instead. Please also carry a card or some cash, since immigration can ask arriving visitors to show proof of funds.

Guarantor documents

If a relative or friend living in the UAE is sponsoring a Mauritius traveller, they provide their passport copy and residence visa page, each with six months validity, Emirates ID front and back, and fill in the guarantee form at applyvisa.app. A family member’s UAE bank statement can replace the visitor’s statement if one is required, though friends cannot substitute theirs.

The application process step by step

  1. Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133. We check them the same day and tell you which visa suits your travel dates.
  2. Settle the fee by secure link or instalments. Submission to immigration follows verification and payment.
  3. We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Mauritius citizens is 24 to 72 hours, subject to immigration’s discretion.
  4. You receive the approved visa as a PDF on WhatsApp. Print a copy or keep it on your phone and present it with your passport at check in and on arrival.

Validity and duration of stay

The permit is valid for entry for 60 days from issue. The stay period, 30 or 60 days, starts counting from your arrival date. Choose single entry for a straightforward visit, or multiple entry if you plan to hop to Oman, Saudi Arabia or Qatar and come back. Working on a tourist visa is not allowed.

Why the expiry date matters

UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. Every day beyond expiry costs AED 50, whichever emirate issued the visa, starting immediately. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before leaving. We remind Mauritius travellers on WhatsApp before the expiry date, giving you time to act.

Visa extension without leaving the UAE

Thirty day visas may be extended three times by 30 days, and 60 day visas twice by 30 days, all from inside the UAE. Total time in the UAE cannot exceed 120 days. At the 120 day point, a new visa requires an exit, which can be done by an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. Extensions are only accepted before expiry, so message us while you still have a week or more left.

Sharjah visa option

For Mauritius travellers who prefer it, the Sharjah 60 day single entry visa costs AED 1,200 and carries no deposit. It is valid for the whole UAE, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. We will advise on WhatsApp whether this suits Mauritius citizens better than the standard visa.

Why applications get held up

  • No back cover scan. Send it together with the front page.
  • A passport expiring within six months of travel.
  • Poor quality scans. Make sure the whole page is visible and readable.
  • Past visa problems in the UAE. We assess these before submission so that you are not surprised by a refusal.
  • Single name passports. If your Mauritius passport shows only one name and no supporting document shows a full name, the visa cannot be processed, so contact us before paying.
  • Last minute applications. Give us a minimum of three working days, longer around Eid and the winter peak.

Answers for Mauritius citizens

How many days until approval?

Typically 24 to 72 hours. Immigration sets the timeline and may ask for more documents, so allow three working days or more before your flight.

What does the 30 day visa cost?

For most passports AED 450 single entry and AED 800 multiple entry; Indian and Filipino citizens pay AED 400 and AED 750. We confirm any deposit requirement on WhatsApp.

What does the 60 day visa cost?

The 60 day visa costs AED 650 single entry or AED 1,000 multiple entry, and AED 600 or AED 950 for Indian and Filipino passports.

Will immigration ask for proof of funds?

It depends on nationality. Some passports are asked for a six month statement, and a UAE based family member can submit theirs instead. Immigration may also ask arriving travellers for proof of funds, so carry a card or cash. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm the rule for Mauritius passports.

Can the visa be extended?

Yes. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days, without exiting. After that you must leave and re enter through an airport to airport change or by bus. Applications must be made before expiry.

What happens if I overstay by a day?

No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.

Can I get my money back on refusal?

The fee is not returned if the visa is refused; it covers government processing. Reapplying is possible after the cause of rejection is fixed.

Can children from Mauritius apply for a Dubai visa?

Certainly. Every child is issued a separate visa at the same rate, and a birth certificate is required in addition to the passport and photo.

Can I work in the UAE on a Dubai visa?

No. The visa is for visiting only. Taking up work requires an employment visa arranged by a UAE employer.
