Validity and duration of stay

Overstay rules in 2026

UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 becomes necessary as well. Visa extension without leaving the UAE

The 30 day visa allows three extensions of 30 days and the 60 day visa allows two, without leaving the country. The overall ceiling is 120 days of stay. After the limit, the only way to stay on is to leave and come back on a new visa, by air through an airport to airport change or by bus via Oman. Extensions are only accepted before expiry, so message us while you still have a week or more left.

An alternative issued through Sharjah

How to keep your application on track

• Leaving out the back cover, which immigration requires alongside the data page.
• Less than six months on the passport. Immigration will not approve the visa in that case.
• Blurred or cropped photos. Use a clear, full colour scan with all four corners visible.
• Earlier violations or uncancelled visas. Be open with us so we can check the record first.
• Single name passports. If your Netherlands passport shows only one name and no supporting document shows a full name, the visa cannot be processed, so contact us before paying.
