Iran passport a2a visa change in the UAE

When a visitor from Iran has run out of extension options, a a2a visa change is the practical answer: a short flight out, a new visa issued while you wait, and a return within hours. At White Sky Travel we book the return flight, file the new visa as soon as your exit stamp is recorded, and keep in touch on WhatsApp from check in to arrival.

Short version: AED 1,550, one flydubai return flight, one new 60 day single entry tourist visa, and a typical turnaround of six to twelve hours for Iran citizens doing a a2a visa change.

Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?

Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.

What is a a2a visa change?

A a2a visa change works on one principle: you must be outside UAE territory before a new tourist visa can be activated against your passport. Immigration only links a new visa to a Iran passport once the holder has left the UAE, which is why the flight is essential. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. The typical route runs from Dubai International Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha, with a return the same day.

A bus visa change through Oman exists as well, but it costs a night away and a much longer day. Flying is the more expensive choice, but it is faster and far more comfortable for Iran families, older passengers and busy professionals.

Who from Iran needs a a2a visa change?

Many UAE visit visas can be extended without leaving, which means a a2a visa change is only needed in specific cases. Here is when it becomes the right choice for a Iran passport holder:

  • Your extensions are exhausted: three for a 30 day visa, two for a 60 day visa, with 120 days as the overall limit.
  • Your employer has cancelled your residence visa. Cancellation papers cannot be extended, so a a2a visa change converts you to a 60 day tourist visa.
  • Your visa has already expired. Extensions must be filed before expiry, so once the date has passed the practical solution is to settle the fine and exit through a a2a visa change.
  • You entered on a visa type that cannot be extended in country, such as certain on arrival stamps or multiple entry permits. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm which category your Iran passport falls under.

Do not wait until the last day

The overstay fine in the UAE is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly to tourist, visit and residence visas in every emirate. No grace period applies to visit visas, so the counter starts the very next day. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before they can leave. A a2a visa change booked ten days before expiry costs exactly the same as one booked on the last day, so we recommend contacting us when you still have 10 to 15 days remaining.

Price of a a2a visa change on a Iran passport

The package for Iran passport holders is straightforward: AED 1,550 for a 60 day single entry visa and the return flight on flydubai. You pay the same figure for a tourist to tourist change and for a residence cancellation conversion. That figure pays for the flydubai ticket, the visa itself and our coordination on travel day.

  • New UAE tourist visa: 60 days, single entry
  • Flight included: flydubai round trip from Dubai Terminal 2
  • Visa delivery: PDF sent to you on WhatsApp once immigration approves
  • Support: live WhatsApp contact from document check to arrival in Dubai
  • Price: AED 1,550 per adult

There is no 30 day version of our a2a visa change. The 30 day visa costs almost as much and delivers half the stay, so the 60 day package is the sensible option. An AED 100 supplement applies to certain passports that need extra processing time. Ask us whether Iran is on that list before you book. Overstay fines, if any, are paid by the traveller at the immigration desk before departure and are not part of the package.

Some Iran applicants may need to place a refundable security deposit. It is independent of the visa price, is returned after you exit the country, and we state the amount clearly on WhatsApp first.

Payment plans for UAE residents

For UAE residents sponsoring a Iran family member or friend, the AED 1,550 can be split with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link.

Documents required for a Iran passport

Message us these items on WhatsApp and we will normally confirm your eligibility within an hour:

  1. Front page and back cover of the passport. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
  2. At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
  3. A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
  4. Your current visa copy, either the tourist visa you hold or the residence cancellation paper.

Bank statement requirements depend on nationality. Should Iran be one of the passports that needs one, a relative in the UAE can submit their own statement for you. UAE immigration may also ask arriving travellers to show proof of funds on entry, so carry a card or cash that demonstrates you can support your stay. One more step: fill in the guarantee form at applyvisa.app a few days before you fly.

a2a visa change step by step for Iran travellers

Before travel

After verification we book flydubai, send your ticket and confirm that you have no unpaid fines on the GDRFA or ICP system. If you are within your visa validity, the airport stage costs nothing extra. We always advise Iran travellers to fly Monday to Thursday, because a Friday departure that hits a delay can mean waiting through the Saturday and Sunday weekend.

Leaving the UAE

Plan to be at Dubai Terminal 2 five hours before the flight, check in and receive boarding passes for both sectors. Photograph both passes and send them to us on WhatsApp. Your exit stamp ends the current visa, and we lodge the fresh visa the instant the exit appears in the system.

In Muscat, Kuwait or Doha

The flight takes around one hour. Because you do not leave the airport, Iran passport holders need no visa for the transit country. Most applications clear within a few hours, and the approved visa reaches your WhatsApp as a PDF. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. Airlines permit you to wait at the airport, and we keep you updated until it clears.

Re entry

With the visa PDF on your phone, the eGate at Terminal 2 gives you a fast entry. Should the visa still be pending on landing, avoid the eGate, use the manual counters and wait in the Terminal 2 holding area until we confirm. Validity runs for 60 days from your arrival.

a2a visa change compared with other options

Where an extension is still possible, take it: the in country option costs AED 1,200 for 30 days and requires no flight. A a2a visa change steps in when extension ends, and it gives 60 days instead of 30. The bus to Oman costs less, from AED 1,000 for residence cancellation and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visit visa holders, but it takes a day or two and includes a night away. On balance, Iran citizens usually prefer the a2a visa change for its speed and comfort.

What can go wrong and how to avoid it

  • Booking too late. Flights sell out around Eid, December and the January peak, so message us at least a week ahead.
  • Passport validity under six months. Renew before you travel, as immigration will not issue a visa against a short validity passport.
  • Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Iran passport exactly, including middle names.
  • Outstanding fines. Clear them in the GDRFA or ICP app before travel, or you will be stopped at immigration.
  • Believing there is a buffer. There is not, and fines start the day after expiry.
  • Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.

Frequently asked questions about a2a visa change for Iran passport

How long will I be away from Dubai?

Typically six to twelve hours from departure to re entry. Some applications need 24 to 48 hours if immigration orders a security check, and the airline allows you to wait at the airport in that case.

Is there a limit on repeat visa changes?

You may repeat it, but approval is never automatic and repeated changes are scrutinised. One or two is typical.

Does this work after residency cancellation?

Yes. This is the most common case we handle. Your employer cancels the residency, you receive the cancellation paper, and we convert you to a 60 day tourist visa at the same AED 1,550 rate.

Where does the flight go?

We book flydubai to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha based on seat availability. Each is a short flight with a same day return.

Will I need a visa for the other country?

Not for a same day return. You do not enter Oman, Kuwait or Qatar; you stay in transit.

Can I bring my family?

Yes. WhatsApp us all the passports and we will send one price for the family.

Is a refund possible if immigration refuses?

Refusal is rare but final. You would need to travel elsewhere and the visa fee is retained by the authorities. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.

It is fully legal. The visa is issued by the UAE authorities in the normal way; the only difference is that you are outside the country at the time.
