When a visitor from Trinidad and Tobago has run out of extension options, a a2a visa change is the practical answer: a short flight out, a new visa issued while you wait, and a return within hours. Our team books the flight, lodges the visa application at the right moment and guides you on WhatsApp through every stage of the day.
Quick answer: a a2a visa change for a Trinidad and Tobago passport costs AED 1,550 flat, includes a flydubai return ticket and a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa, and normally takes six to twelve hours from departure to re entry.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
How a a2a visa change works
A a2a visa change is simply a controlled exit followed by a fresh entry. Because the new permit can only be granted to someone who is outside the UAE, Trinidad and Tobago citizens must exit before the visa is approved. A short flight is the quickest way to meet that condition. Most Trinidad and Tobago travellers fly from Dubai Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha and are back in Dubai the same day.
Some visitors choose the Oman bus route instead, though it is slower and involves sleeping near the border crossing. Although a a2a visa change is dearer than the bus option, the time saved makes it the sensible choice for most Trinidad and Tobago visitors.
Is a a2a visa change the right option for you?
Many UAE visit visas can be extended without leaving, which means a a2a visa change is only needed in specific cases. For Trinidad and Tobago citizens, the following circumstances call for a a2a visa change:
- You have used every in country extension available. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days, up to a total stay of 120 days.
- Your residency was cancelled and you need more time in the UAE. The only route is a new tourist visa, which a a2a visa change provides.
- The expiry date has passed. Extension is no longer possible, so a a2a visa change after paying any fine is the way forward.
- Your visa category is not eligible for extension. We check this for Trinidad and Tobago citizens on WhatsApp before you spend anything.
Overstay fines and why you should book early
UAE authorities charge AED 50 for every day a visit visa remains expired, and the same flat rate applies across all visa types and emirates. Visitors do not receive any grace days, and the fine runs from the first day of overstay. After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300 becomes necessary as well. Booking early costs nothing extra, so we advise Trinidad and Tobago travellers to message us with 10 to 15 days left on the current visa.

a2a visa change cost from Dubai for Trinidad and Tobago citizens
The package for Trinidad and Tobago passport holders is straightforward: AED 1,550 for a 60 day single entry visa and the return flight on flydubai. There is one rate for both tourist visa renewals and residence cancellation cases. The amount includes the flight, the government visa fee and our support throughout the day.
- Visa type: 60 days, single entry
- Ticket: flydubai return from Dubai International Terminal 2 to a nearby GCC airport
- Processing: visa applied while you are outside the UAE and sent to your WhatsApp as a PDF
- Assistance: WhatsApp support throughout, including on the day of travel
- Cost: AED 1,550 for each adult passenger
We do not offer a 30 day a2a visa change. A 30 day visa costs nearly the same to process and gives you half the time, so the 60 day option is better value in every case we see. A surcharge of AED 100 applies to a small number of nationalities that require additional processing, and we will tell you before you pay whether a Trinidad and Tobago passport is affected. Any overstay fine is settled by you at immigration before you fly and is separate from our fee.
A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is separate from the visa price, it is returned after you exit the UAE at the end of your stay, and we confirm the amount for Trinidad and Tobago passports on WhatsApp before you pay anything.
Spread the cost
For UAE residents sponsoring a Trinidad and Tobago family member or friend, the AED 1,550 can be split with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
Paperwork for a a2a visa change
Share these four items on WhatsApp and we will confirm whether we can proceed, typically within the hour:
- Your passport data page plus a photo of the back cover. We ask for both because the back cover is the item most often forgotten.
- Six months minimum validity from your flight date, two blank pages, and a passport in clean condition.
- One colour passport photo on a plain white background, no more than six months old.
- The existing tourist visa PDF or, for cancelled residents, the cancellation document.
Bank statement requirements depend on nationality. Should Trinidad and Tobago be one of the passports that needs one, a relative in the UAE can submit their own statement for you. Bear in mind that immigration officers sometimes ask arriving passengers to show they can fund their stay, so keep a card or cash accessible. Please complete the guarantee form at applyvisa.app once we confirm your booking.
What happens on the day
Preparation
After verification we book flydubai, send your ticket and confirm that you have no unpaid fines on the GDRFA or ICP system. Travellers whose visa is still valid pay nothing at immigration. Avoid Fridays. If a security check is triggered on a Friday, approval may slip past the weekend when offices are closed.
Check in and exit at Dubai Terminal 2
Reach Terminal 2 at Dubai International about five hours early, check in with flydubai and ask for the outbound and return boarding passes together. Send us a picture of each boarding pass on WhatsApp straight away. Your exit stamp ends the current visa, and we lodge the fresh visa the instant the exit appears in the system.
While you wait abroad
The flight takes around one hour. There is no need to enter the transit country; you stay airside and check in for the return sector. Typically the visa is granted in a few hours and we forward the PDF while you are still at the transit airport. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. Airlines permit you to wait at the airport, and we keep you updated until it clears.
Arrival at Terminal 2
If we have already sent the PDF, go straight to the eGate at Terminal 2. Without the PDF in hand, use a manual immigration counter rather than the eGate and remain in the designated area. Your 60 days begin on the entry date.
A2A versus extension versus bus
Before flying, check whether you qualify for the AED 1,200 in country extension, which adds 30 days without leaving. When you can no longer extend, a a2a visa change provides twice the stay of an extension for AED 1,550. The bus visa change is cheaper, beginning at AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for tourist visa holders, but it needs one to two days and an overnight stop. For most Trinidad and Tobago visitors the flight is the better balance of time, comfort and certainty.

Mistakes to avoid
- Booking too late. Flights sell out around Eid, December and the January peak, so message us at least a week ahead.
- Passport validity under six months. Renew before you travel, as immigration will not issue a visa against a short validity passport.
- Name mismatch. The name on the ticket must match the Trinidad and Tobago passport exactly, including middle names.
- Overstay fines still due. Pay them in advance through the GDRFA or ICP app.
- Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
- Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.
Answers for Trinidad and Tobago citizens
How long does a a2a visa change take for a Trinidad and Tobago passport?
Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.
Can I do this more than once?
There is no fixed limit, but every application is assessed on its own and repeated back to back changes attract closer scrutiny. Most of our clients do one or two before moving to a residence visa or leaving the UAE.
Is a a2a visa change possible for cancelled residents?
Yes. Send the cancellation document and we handle the change to a 60 day tourist visa for the same flat price.
Which airport do I fly to?
The destination is usually Muscat, though Kuwait City and Doha are also used. All three allow a same day turnaround.
Will I need a visa for the other country?
No visa is required because you never clear immigration in the transit country.
Can I bring my family?
Certainly. Every family member, including children, needs a ticket and visa, and we arrange all of them together.
Is a refund possible if immigration refuses?
Very few applications are refused. If yours is, the return to Dubai is not possible and onward travel is required. Government visa fees cannot be refunded, so we review your history carefully first.
Is this an official process?
It is fully legal. The visa is issued by the UAE authorities in the normal way; the only difference is that you are outside the country at the time.
