- Book your a2a visa change with White Sky Travel
For travellers from Turkmenistan, a a2a visa change means leaving the UAE on a short flight and coming back the same day with a brand new 60 day tourist visa. At White Sky Travel we book the return flight, file the new visa as soon as your exit stamp is recorded, and keep in touch on WhatsApp from check in to arrival.
The essentials for Turkmenistan passport holders: AED 1,550 all in, a same day flydubai rotation from Dubai Terminal 2, and a 60 day single entry visa issued while you wait at the transit airport.
Looking to extend your stay in the UAE?
Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.
What is a a2a visa change?
At its core, a a2a visa change is a short trip out of the country so that a new visa can be issued. Because the new permit can only be granted to someone who is outside the UAE, Turkmenistan citizens must exit before the visa is approved. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. The typical route runs from Dubai International Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha, with a return the same day.
Some visitors choose the Oman bus route instead, though it is slower and involves sleeping near the border crossing. The flight route is pricier than the bus, but it saves an entire day and works better for families, seniors and people who cannot take time off.
Who from Turkmenistan needs a a2a visa change?
Most 30 day and 60 day UAE visit visas can now be extended from inside the country, so a a2a visa change is not always necessary. These are the situations where Turkmenistan travellers should book one:
- All your extensions are used up. The UAE allows a 30 day visa to be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, and total stay cannot go beyond 120 days.
- Your UAE residence visa has been cancelled. A cancelled residency cannot be extended, so we convert your status to a 60 day tourist visa through a a2a visa change.
- Your visa has already expired. Extensions must be filed before expiry, so once the date has passed the practical solution is to settle the fine and exit through a a2a visa change.
- You entered on a visa type that cannot be extended in country, such as certain on arrival stamps or multiple entry permits. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm which category your Turkmenistan passport falls under.
Overstay fines and why you should book early
The overstay fine in the UAE is AED 50 per day, applied uniformly to tourist, visit and residence visas in every emirate. No grace period applies to visit visas, so the counter starts the very next day. If the overstay passes 30 days, an additional exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 is required. Booking early costs nothing extra, so we advise Turkmenistan travellers to message us with 10 to 15 days left on the current visa.

How much does a a2a visa change cost?
We offer one product: a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa with a flydubai return ticket for AED 1,550. Tourist visa holders and cancelled residents pay an identical amount. It covers the airline ticket, the visa fee and our coordination before, during and after the flight.
- Visa type: 60 days, single entry
- Ticket: flydubai return from Dubai International Terminal 2 to a nearby GCC airport
- Delivery: approved visa PDF on WhatsApp, usually before your return flight
- Help: a dedicated consultant on WhatsApp for the whole process
- Fee: AED 1,550 per adult traveller
We do not offer a 30 day a2a visa change. A 30 day visa costs nearly the same to process and gives you half the time, so the 60 day option is better value in every case we see. A surcharge of AED 100 applies to a small number of nationalities that require additional processing, and we will tell you before you pay whether a Turkmenistan passport is affected. If you have overstayed, the fine is paid directly to immigration and is not included in the AED 1,550.
Some Turkmenistan applicants may need to place a refundable security deposit. It is independent of the visa price, is returned after you exit the country, and we state the amount clearly on WhatsApp first.
Pay in instalments
UAE residents booking a a2a visa change for a family member or friend from Turkmenistan can spread the AED 1,550 using Tabby with up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable terms, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month plans depending on the issuing bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online.
What Turkmenistan citizens need to send us
WhatsApp us the following and expect an eligibility answer within about an hour:
- A clear scan of your Turkmenistan passport, both the data page and the back cover. Missing back covers cause most resubmissions.
- Passport validity of at least six months from the planned travel date, with at least two blank pages and no damage.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- A copy of the visa you are on now, or the official cancellation paper if your residency was cancelled.
Depending on nationality, a six month bank statement may be requested. If that applies to Turkmenistan applicants, a UAE resident family member can provide theirs instead. Bear in mind that immigration officers sometimes ask arriving passengers to show they can fund their stay, so keep a card or cash accessible. Please complete the guarantee form at applyvisa.app once we confirm your booking.
The a2a visa change process from start to finish
Before travel
Once your documents are approved we book the flydubai seat, send you the ticket and ask you to clear any fines in the GDRFA or ICP app. With a valid visa, no payment is due at the airport. Avoid Fridays. If a security check is triggered on a Friday, approval may slip past the weekend when offices are closed.
Leaving the UAE
Get to Terminal 2 five hours ahead, complete flydubai check in and take both boarding passes. Photograph both passes and send them to us on WhatsApp. Your exit stamp ends the current visa, and we lodge the fresh visa the instant the exit appears in the system.
While you wait abroad
The flight takes around one hour. You remain in the transit area and do not need to clear immigration in Oman, Kuwait or Qatar for a same day return. Typically the visa is granted in a few hours and we forward the PDF while you are still at the transit airport. Occasionally immigration orders a security check, extending the wait to 24 to 48 hours. You can remain at the airport and we will monitor the status with you.
Back in the UAE
Holding the approved PDF, you may pass through the Terminal 2 eGate. Without the PDF in hand, use a manual immigration counter rather than the eGate and remain in the designated area. The visa clock starts on the date of re entry.
a2a visa change compared with other options
Before flying, check whether you qualify for the AED 1,200 in country extension, which adds 30 days without leaving. A a2a visa change becomes the right choice the moment extension is no longer possible, and it delivers 60 days rather than 30 for AED 1,550. Travellers on a tight budget sometimes choose the Oman bus, which starts at AED 1,000 for cancelled residents or AED 1,400 to 1,500 for visitors, at the cost of an overnight trip. For the majority of travellers from Turkmenistan, the a2a visa change is the more comfortable and predictable route.

Common problems for Turkmenistan applicants and how we prevent them
- Late bookings. Demand spikes at Eid, in December and in January, so start early.
- Short passport validity. Applications on passports with under six months remaining are refused.
- Mismatched names between ticket and passport, which airlines and immigration treat seriously.
- Fines left unpaid. Settle everything online before the flight to avoid being held at the exit counter.
- Counting on grace days. Visit visas have no grace period, so act before the printed expiry date.
- Previous immigration issues. Old bans, unresolved cases or improperly cancelled visas can affect approval, so tell us about them before you pay.
Questions Turkmenistan travellers ask us
What is the total time from departure to return?
Six to twelve hours is normal. Security checks occasionally push it to 24 to 48 hours, and you can wait at the airport throughout.
Can I do this more than once?
There is no fixed limit, but every application is assessed on its own and repeated back to back changes attract closer scrutiny. Most of our clients do one or two before moving to a residence visa or leaving the UAE.
Does this work after residency cancellation?
Yes. Send the cancellation document and we handle the change to a 60 day tourist visa for the same flat price.
Where does the flight go?
The destination is usually Muscat, though Kuwait City and Doha are also used. All three allow a same day turnaround.
Do Turkmenistan passport holders need an Oman visa for this?
No. For a same day return you stay in the international transit area and do not pass through the other country’s immigration.
What about children on Turkmenistan passports?
Yes. Each child needs their own ticket and visa. Send us the family’s passports on WhatsApp and we will quote for the group.
Is a refund possible if immigration refuses?
Rejection is uncommon. Should it happen, you would need to fly on to your home country or another destination, and the visa fee is not refundable as it is a government charge. We flag risks before booking so that this does not come as a surprise.
Is this an official process?
Yes, completely. It follows standard immigration procedure, and a licensed agency such as ours submits the application through the proper system.
