a2a visa change for Tuvalu passport holders

If you hold a Tuvalu passport and your UAE visit visa is close to expiry, a a2a visa change is the quickest legal route to a fresh 60 day tourist visa. At White Sky Travel we book the return flight, file the new visa as soon as your exit stamp is recorded, and keep in touch on WhatsApp from check in to arrival.

Quick answer: a a2a visa change for a Tuvalu passport costs AED 1,550 flat, includes a flydubai return ticket and a 60 day single entry UAE tourist visa, and normally takes six to twelve hours from departure to re entry.

Let White Sky Travel help you process an airport visa change from a tourist visa, cancelled residence visa, or current visa on-arrival.

The meaning of a2a visa change for Tuvalu passport holders

A a2a visa change is an exit and re entry. UAE immigration issues the new tourist visa against your Tuvalu passport while you are physically outside the country, so leaving is not optional. Air travel is the most efficient way to complete the exit. Most Tuvalu travellers fly from Dubai Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha and are back in Dubai the same day.

The land alternative is the visa change by bus to Oman, which takes longer and involves a night near the border. Flying is the more expensive choice, but it is faster and far more comfortable for Tuvalu families, older passengers and busy professionals.

Situations where Tuvalu citizens need a a2a visa change

Many UAE visit visas can be extended without leaving, which means a a2a visa change is only needed in specific cases. For Tuvalu citizens, the following circumstances call for a a2a visa change:

  • All your extensions are used up. The UAE allows a 30 day visa to be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, and total stay cannot go beyond 120 days.
  • Your employer has cancelled your residence visa. Cancellation papers cannot be extended, so a a2a visa change converts you to a 60 day tourist visa.
  • You missed the extension deadline. With fines already running, a a2a visa change is the fastest way to regularise your status.
  • You entered on a visa type that cannot be extended in country, such as certain on arrival stamps or multiple entry permits. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm which category your Tuvalu passport falls under.

Why timing matters in 2026

Every day past expiry costs AED 50 in fines, whichever emirate issued the visa and whichever visa type you hold. Tourist and visit visas carry no grace period, which means fines begin immediately after the expiry date. After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300 becomes necessary as well. Because the fee is the same whenever you book, the smart move is to reach out while 10 to 15 days remain on your visa.

Price of a a2a visa change on a Tuvalu passport

At White Sky Travel a a2a visa change costs AED 1,550 and includes the flydubai return ticket and a 60 day single entry tourist visa. The price is the same whether you are changing from a tourist visa or converting a cancelled residence visa. Included are the ticket, the visa processing and our WhatsApp guidance from booking to entry.

  • Visa type: 60 days, single entry
  • Flight: flydubai return ticket from Dubai Terminal 2 to Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha
  • How you get it: a PDF copy on WhatsApp while you wait at the transit airport
  • Assistance: WhatsApp support throughout, including on the day of travel
  • Price: AED 1,550 per adult

A 30 day a2a visa change is not available through us because the processing cost is similar and the value is poorer than the 60 day visa. Some nationalities carry an AED 100 surcharge for extended processing; we confirm on WhatsApp whether this applies to Tuvalu citizens. Any overstay fine is settled by you at immigration before you fly and is separate from our fee.

A refundable security deposit may apply for some nationalities. It is separate from the visa price, it is returned after you exit the UAE at the end of your stay, and we confirm the amount for Tuvalu passports on WhatsApp before you pay anything.

Payment plans for UAE residents

If you are a UAE resident arranging a a2a visa change for a relative or friend holding a Tuvalu passport, you can pay through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link.

Share these four items on WhatsApp and we will confirm whether we can proceed, typically within the hour:

  1. Your passport data page plus a photo of the back cover. We ask for both because the back cover is the item most often forgotten.
  2. At least six months remaining validity, two empty pages, and no torn or water damaged pages.
  3. One colour passport photo on a plain white background, no more than six months old.
  4. Whatever permit you currently hold: the tourist visa copy or the residence cancellation paper.

Depending on nationality, a six month bank statement may be requested. If that applies to Tuvalu applicants, a UAE resident family member can provide theirs instead. On arrival, immigration may request evidence of funds, so have a bank card or cash to hand. Please complete the guarantee form at applyvisa.app once we confirm your booking.

The a2a visa change process from start to finish

The day before you fly

After verification we book flydubai, send your ticket and confirm that you have no unpaid fines on the GDRFA or ICP system. With a valid visa, no payment is due at the airport. We always advise Tuvalu travellers to fly Monday to Thursday, because a Friday departure that hits a delay can mean waiting through the Saturday and Sunday weekend.

Departure from Dubai

Plan to be at Dubai Terminal 2 five hours before the flight, check in and receive boarding passes for both sectors. Photograph both passes and send them to us on WhatsApp. Once immigration records your exit, your old visa closes and we file the new application immediately.

In Muscat, Kuwait or Doha

The hop to Muscat, Kuwait or Doha takes close to an hour. You remain in the transit area and do not need to clear immigration in Oman, Kuwait or Qatar for a same day return. In standard cases the new visa is approved within a few hours and we send the PDF to your WhatsApp before your return flight. A small number of applications go to security check, which can add 24 to 48 hours. Airlines permit you to wait at the airport, and we keep you updated until it clears.

Returning to Dubai

Holding the approved PDF, you may pass through the Terminal 2 eGate. Should the visa still be pending on landing, avoid the eGate, use the manual counters and wait in the Terminal 2 holding area until we confirm. Your 60 days begin on the entry date.

Should Tuvalu travellers extend, fly or take the bus?

An in country extension at AED 1,200 for 30 days is the simplest route if you are still eligible. Once extension is off the table, the a2a visa change is the better option, giving 60 days for AED 1,550. The bus visa change is cheaper, beginning at AED 1,000 for cancelled residents and AED 1,400 to 1,500 for tourist visa holders, but it needs one to two days and an overnight stop. For the majority of travellers from Tuvalu, the a2a visa change is the more comfortable and predictable route.

Why applications get delayed

  • Late bookings. Demand spikes at Eid, in December and in January, so start early.
  • Short passport validity. Applications on passports with under six months remaining are refused.
  • Mismatched names between ticket and passport, which airlines and immigration treat seriously.
  • Fines left unpaid. Settle everything online before the flight to avoid being held at the exit counter.
  • Expecting extra days after expiry. The UAE gives visitors none, so plan around the exact date.
  • Past visa violations. Be open with us so that we can advise whether a a2a visa change is likely to succeed.

Tuvalu passport a2a visa change FAQ

How long will I be away from Dubai?

Typically six to twelve hours from departure to re entry. Some applications need 24 to 48 hours if immigration orders a security check, and the airline allows you to wait at the airport in that case.

Is there a limit on repeat visa changes?

You may repeat it, but approval is never automatic and repeated changes are scrutinised. One or two is typical.

My residency was cancelled. Can I still apply?

Yes. This is the most common case we handle. Your employer cancels the residency, you receive the cancellation paper, and we convert you to a 60 day tourist visa at the same AED 1,550 rate.

What is the destination?

Muscat, Kuwait City or Doha, depending on flydubai availability on your chosen date. All are under two hours from Dubai and support a same day return.

Do Tuvalu passport holders need an Oman visa for this?

No. For a same day return you stay in the international transit area and do not pass through the other country’s immigration.

Is there a family option?

Yes. WhatsApp us all the passports and we will send one price for the family.

What happens on rejection?

Rejection is uncommon. Should it happen, you would need to fly on to your home country or another destination, and the visa fee is not refundable as it is a government charge. We flag risks before booking so that this does not come as a surprise.

Yes, completely. It follows standard immigration procedure, and a licensed agency such as ours submits the application through the proper system.
