Visa extension for Brunei passport

When a Brunei citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. The fee is AED 1,200 for each 30 day extension, approval normally arrives in two to three working days, and everything is handled on WhatsApp. Read on for the rules that apply to Brunei passports: cost, number of extensions, timing, documents and the exit routes once the maximum is reached.

In short: Brunei passport holders pay AED 1,200 for each 30 day Visa extension, approved in two to three working days without leaving the country. Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 120 days maximum. Apply five to seven days before expiry through the agency that issued your visa.

Visa extension explained for Brunei travellers

A Visa extension is an extension of the current permit; the visa number stays the same and the expiry date moves forward by 30 days. The request goes to immigration under the account that issued the visa, and approval extends the expiry date linked to your Brunei passport. No flight, no bus and no border: you remain where you are and receive the approval on WhatsApp.

Visa change by air or by bus means exiting and re entering on a new visa; a Visa extension avoids the exit altogether. For eligible Brunei travellers the extension beats the exit routes on cost, effort and time away.

Who qualifies

A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. Send us a copy of your current visa on WhatsApp and we will confirm within the hour whether a Brunei passport can be extended, or whether an exit route is the better option.

  • Anyone on a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa issued by an agency: three extensions for the 30 day visa, two for the 60 day visa, 30 days each time.
  • Visitors who have not reached 120 days in the UAE on the current visa.
  • Visitors whose visa we issued. Immigration processes extensions through the original issuer’s account, so another agency cannot extend a visa we did not issue, and we cannot extend a visa issued elsewhere.

If we did not issue your visa, the original agency can extend it, or we can reset you on a new 60 day visa through an airport to airport change (AED 1,550) or the bus to Oman (from AED 1,000). Arrival stamps and residency visas are not extendable through an agency.

UAE visit visa extension charges for Brunei citizens

A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Brunei included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.

  • 30 day extension: AED 1,200
  • 2 month extension: AED 2,400, issued as two separate 30 day approvals

The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Any overstay fine is settled separately with immigration and is not included in the AED 1,200. Compared with the exit routes, the extension is usually the better value for a Brunei visitor who needs 30 more days, while a new 60 day visa through airport to airport or bus makes more sense when you need the full two months and have no extensions left.

Spreading the cost

UAE residents arranging a Visa extension for a family member or friend from Brunei can split the AED 1,200 using Tabby with up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable terms, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month plans depending on the issuing bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.

Visa extension requirements for Brunei passport holders

Extensions need less paperwork than a new visa. Message us these three items on WhatsApp:

  1. Passport copy showing at least six months validity.
  2. One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
  3. Your existing visa PDF, which tells us the entry date, expiry and extension count.

No bank statement, hotel booking or return ticket is required for the extension itself. Should immigration want anything more for a Brunei passport, we will contact you on WhatsApp at once.

How to apply for a Visa extension from Brunei

  1. Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 at least five to seven days before your visa expires. We check the expiry date and extension count and confirm eligibility the same day.
  2. Make the payment through the link we send. We submit as soon as it is confirmed.
  3. The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Brunei applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
  4. You receive the approved extension as a PDF on WhatsApp showing the new expiry date. Keep it with your passport for the rest of your stay.

The five to seven day rule for Brunei visitors

The extension must be submitted before the current visa expires; an expired visa cannot be extended. With two to three working days of processing and no weekend service, a five to seven day lead time protects Brunei visitors from missing the deadline. When chaining extensions, start each one a few days early and count your total days from the original entry.

What happens if you miss the deadline

UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. Every day beyond expiry costs AED 50, whichever emirate issued the visa, starting immediately. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before leaving. After expiry the only option is an exit route; we handle the airport to airport change or the Oman bus for Brunei passports.

Reaching the 120 day limit

At 120 days total, Brunei passport holders must leave the UAE. Four options follow: airport to airport at AED 1,550 and back the same day, the bus to Oman from AED 1,000 taking roughly a day, a return home before a new visa, or a residence visa through an employer or family member. Air or bus, the result is a new 60 day visa, and we book either for Brunei travellers on WhatsApp.

How to keep your application on track

  • Leaving it to the last day. An expired visa cannot be extended, so allow a week.
  • Assuming any agency can extend. Only the issuer can, because immigration routes the request through the issuing account. Check who issued your visa before you plan.
  • Assuming the clock resets with each extension. It does not; 120 days is the total from entry.
  • Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
  • Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.

Brunei passport Visa extension FAQ

Can I extend my UAE visit visa without exiting on a Brunei passport?

Yes. Agency issued 30 day and 60 day visit visas can be extended from inside the UAE without leaving, provided you still have extensions remaining, your total stay will not exceed 120 days, and the application goes through the agency that issued the visa.

How much is a 2 month extension?

AED 1,200 for a 30 day extension and AED 2,400 for 60 days, with no nationality surcharge for Brunei citizens.

How many days until approval?

Typically two to three working days, excluding weekends and public holidays. Immigration can take longer in some cases, which is why a five to seven day lead time is recommended.

How many times can a Brunei citizen extend a UAE tourist visa?

The limit is 120 days in total: three 30 day extensions on a 30 day visa, or two on a 60 day visa.

Does the same agency rule apply to Brunei passports?

Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.

Can I stay a few days after expiry?

No grace days exist. Overstaying costs AED 50 per day from day one, plus an exit permit of approximately AED 250 to 300 once the overstay passes 30 days.

Is there a family extension option?

Yes. We process extensions for spouses, children and other family members together, and UAE residents booking for family can split the combined total across Tabby, Tamara or a UAE credit card plan.

What happens if it is not approved?

Immigration can decline at its discretion, though it seldom does for eligible Brunei applicants. The fee is not returned on refusal, and an exit route becomes necessary before expiry.
