When a Djibouti citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. Below you will find eligibility, pricing for Djibouti citizens, the extension limits, the application deadline and your options after 120 days.
Short version: AED 1,200 per 30 days, processed in country in two to three working days for Djibouti passports, up to 120 days total. Apply a week before expiry via the agency that issued the original visa.
Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.
We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.
How an in country UAE visa extension works
An in country Visa extension extends the visa you already hold rather than issuing a fresh one. We file the extension through the issuing account, and immigration updates the expiry date on your Djibouti passport record. Nothing physical happens on your side; you continue your visit and we send the approved extension on WhatsApp.
It should not be confused with the airport to airport change or the Oman bus route, which reset you on a new visa after an exit. For Djibouti visitors who still qualify, the extension is the cheapest and least disruptive option, and it is the one we recommend first.
Who from Djibouti can apply for a Visa extension?
Whether you qualify comes down to your current visa, your extension history and who issued the original visa. Send us a copy of your current visa on WhatsApp and we will confirm within the hour whether a Djibouti passport can be extended, or whether an exit route is the better option.
- Visitors on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visit visa who have not yet reached the extension limit.
- Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
- Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.
If we did not issue your visa, the original agency can extend it, or we can reset you on a new 60 day visa through an airport to airport change (AED 1,550) or the bus to Oman (from AED 1,000). Visas issued on arrival and residence visas cannot be extended through this service.

UAE visit visa extension charges for Djibouti citizens
A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Djibouti included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.
- A single 30 day block: AED 1,200
- Sixty days of extension: AED 2,400, applied as two 30 day steps
The fee covers the government charge and our processing, and it is not refundable if immigration declines the extension, because the government fee is paid at submission. If a fine has accrued, it is paid to immigration in addition to the extension fee. For 30 extra days the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route; for a full 60 days with no extensions remaining, the airport to airport change or the bus route becomes the better buy for Djibouti travellers.
Instalment plans for UAE residents
Residents of the UAE booking for Djibouti visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Applicants who are not UAE residents pay through a secure online link. Group applications for a family are processed as one, with the total eligible for instalments.
Documents required for a Visa extension on a Djibouti passport
Since immigration already has your file from the original visa, an extension needs only a few items. WhatsApp us:
- Your Djibouti passport data page, with six months or more validity remaining.
- A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.
- Your existing visa PDF, which tells us the entry date, expiry and extension count.
Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. Immigration can request further documents at its discretion, and we pass any such request on to Djibouti travellers without delay.
How Djibouti citizens apply
- Message +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 on WhatsApp five to seven days ahead of expiry with your documents. We review them and confirm eligibility within hours.
- Complete payment through the link or instalment option we provide. We file the extension once payment clears.
- The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Djibouti applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
- Once approved, we send the extension PDF on WhatsApp. It shows the new expiry date and should travel with your passport.
The five to seven day rule for Djibouti visitors
The extension must be submitted before the current visa expires; an expired visa cannot be extended. We ask Djibouti travellers to contact us five to seven days ahead, because processing takes two to three working days and weekends and public holidays do not count. For consecutive extensions, submit each new request a few days before the previous extension expires and track your cumulative stay against the 120 day limit.
Overstay rules in 2026
Once a visit visa expires, no extra days are granted. An expired visa attracts AED 50 per day in fines from day one, and the rate is the same everywhere in the UAE. After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 becomes necessary as well. An expired visa means a visa change rather than an extension: pay the fine, then exit by air or bus with us and return on a new visa.

When extension is no longer possible
At 120 days total, Djibouti passport holders must leave the UAE. The choices are an airport to airport change (AED 1,550, same day, flydubai), the Oman bus route (from AED 1,000, about a day), going home and applying afresh, or moving to a residence visa where a sponsor exists. Air or bus, the result is a new 60 day visa, and we book either for Djibouti travellers on WhatsApp.
Common problems for Djibouti applicants and how we prevent them
- Waiting until expiry day, which leaves no room for processing time.
- Not knowing who issued the visa. Ask the person who arranged it, since the extension has to go through that agency.
- Losing track of cumulative days. The 120 day cap runs from first entry, including every extension.
- Less than six months on the passport, which blocks the extension.
- Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.
Frequently asked questions about Visa extension for Djibouti passport
Can I extend my UAE visit visa without exiting on a Djibouti passport?
Yes. No exit is needed for agency issued visit visas within the extension limits and the 120 day cap, when processed by the original issuer.
How much does a Visa extension cost for Djibouti citizens?
One month costs AED 1,200 and two months cost AED 2,400, issued as two 30 day extensions. The fee does not vary by nationality, so Djibouti passports pay the standard rate.
How long does a Visa extension take?
Usually two to three working days. Because government offices close at weekends, Djibouti travellers should allow five to seven days before the visa expires.
How many times can a Djibouti citizen extend a UAE tourist visa?
A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days. The maximum continuous stay on any UAE tourist visa is 120 days, after which exit is mandatory.
Can I extend a visa issued by another agency?
Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.
Is there a grace period after my visa expires?
No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.
Can I extend visas for my family together?
Yes. We process extensions for spouses, children and other family members together, and UAE residents booking for family can split the combined total across Tabby, Tamara or a UAE credit card plan.
What happens if it is not approved?
Rejection is uncommon for eligible applications. Fees are not refunded on refusal, since immigration retains the charge, and the fallback is an exit route before the visa expires. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.
