- Apply for your Visa extension with White Sky Travel
For travellers from Ireland, the Visa extension is the simplest way to stay longer: no airport, no bus, just a 30 day extension processed while you remain in the UAE. At White Sky Travel a 30 day extension is AED 1,200, processed in around two to three working days, with every step on WhatsApp. Here is everything a Ireland traveller needs to know before applying: fees, limits, deadlines, paperwork and the alternatives when extension is no longer possible.
In short: Ireland passport holders pay AED 1,200 for each 30 day Visa extension, approved in two to three working days without leaving the country. Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 120 days maximum. Apply five to seven days before expiry through the agency that issued your visa.
Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.
We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.
Visa extension explained for Ireland travellers
An in country Visa extension extends the visa you already hold rather than issuing a fresh one. Immigration processes the extension under the original issuer’s account and records the new expiry against your Ireland passport. No flight, no bus and no border: you remain where you are and receive the approval on WhatsApp.
It should not be confused with the airport to airport change or the Oman bus route, which reset you on a new visa after an exit. For Ireland visitors who still qualify, the extension is the cheapest and least disruptive option, and it is the one we recommend first.
Who from Ireland can apply for a Visa extension?
A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. WhatsApp us your visa copy and we will tell you straight away if an extension is possible for a Ireland passport or if you need a visa change instead.
- Visitors on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visit visa who have not yet reached the extension limit.
- Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
- Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.
Visas issued elsewhere can be extended by that agency; alternatively, we arrange an airport to airport change at AED 1,550 or a bus visa change from AED 1,000, each providing a new 60 day visa. Arrival stamps and residency visas are not extendable through an agency.

Visa extension fees for Ireland passport holders
The Visa extension fee is AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, and the price is the same for every nationality, including Ireland.
- 30 day extension: AED 1,200
- 2 month extension: AED 2,400, issued as two separate 30 day approvals
The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. If a fine has accrued, it is paid to immigration in addition to the extension fee. A Ireland visitor needing 30 days should extend; one needing 60 days after the limit should look at the exit routes.
Pay in monthly instalments
If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Ireland passport, the extension fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp. Family extensions are handled together, and the combined total can be split the same way.
What Ireland citizens need to send us
Since immigration already has your file from the original visa, an extension needs only a few items. WhatsApp us:
- Passport copy showing at least six months validity.
- A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
- The current visa copy, which we use to check the expiry date and remaining extensions.
Bank statements, hotel confirmations and return tickets are not part of the extension application. In rare cases immigration asks for something extra; if so, we let Ireland applicants know straight away.
How Ireland citizens apply
- Share your documents with us on WhatsApp at +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 with at least five to seven days remaining, and we confirm the same day.
- Settle the AED 1,200 by secure link or instalments. The application goes to immigration after payment.
- We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Ireland citizens is two to three working days.
- You receive the approved extension as a PDF on WhatsApp showing the new expiry date. Keep it with your passport for the rest of your stay.
The five to seven day rule for Ireland visitors
An extension is only possible on a live visa, which is why the expiry date is the hard deadline. With two to three working days of processing and no weekend service, a five to seven day lead time protects Ireland visitors from missing the deadline. Back to back extensions should each be filed a few days before the running expiry, always within the 120 day cap.
What happens if you miss the deadline
Visitors do not receive any grace days after the expiry date. An expired visa attracts AED 50 per day in fines from day one, and the rate is the same everywhere in the UAE. After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 becomes necessary as well. Once expired, the visa cannot be extended. You settle the fine and use an exit route, airport to airport or bus, which we organise for Ireland travellers.

Options for Ireland visitors after 120 days
The 120 day ceiling is absolute; after it, every Ireland visitor has to exit. The choices are an airport to airport change (AED 1,550, same day, flydubai), the Oman bus route (from AED 1,000, about a day), going home and applying afresh, or moving to a residence visa where a sponsor exists. The two exit routes each provide a fresh 60 day visa whoever issued the first one, and we organise both.
Mistakes to avoid
- Waiting until expiry day, which leaves no room for processing time.
- Approaching a different agency. The same agency rule means we can only extend visas we issued; for others, use an exit route.
- Assuming the clock resets with each extension. It does not; 120 days is the total from entry.
- A passport expiring soon. Renew it before applying.
- Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.
Questions Ireland travellers ask us
Do I have to leave the UAE to extend?
Yes, without leaving the country. The conditions are an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa, extensions still available, a total stay under 120 days, and processing through the issuing agency.
What are the UAE visit visa extension fees?
One month costs AED 1,200 and two months cost AED 2,400, issued as two 30 day extensions. The fee does not vary by nationality, so Ireland passports pay the standard rate.
When will I receive the extension?
Most extensions are approved within two to three working days. Weekends and public holidays are not counted, and immigration may occasionally take longer, so apply five to seven days before expiry.
Can I extend my 30 day visa more than once?
A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days. The maximum continuous stay on any UAE tourist visa is 120 days, after which exit is mandatory.
What if my visa came from a different agency?
Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.
How many days can I stay after the visa ends?
No grace days exist. Overstaying costs AED 50 per day from day one, plus an exit permit of approximately AED 250 to 300 once the overstay passes 30 days.
Can I extend visas for my family together?
Certainly. We extend the whole family at once, and residents sponsoring Ireland relatives can pay the combined AED 1,200 per person on an instalment plan.
Is the fee refundable on rejection?
Rejection is uncommon for eligible applications. Fees are not refunded on refusal, since immigration retains the charge, and the fallback is an exit route before the visa expires. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.
