Visa extension for Malaysia citizens without leaving the UAE

A Visa extension allows Malaysia passport holders to add 30 days to a UAE visit visa without exiting, flying anywhere or crossing a border. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. This page explains who qualifies, what a Malaysia passport holder pays, how many times you can extend, the deadline to apply, and what happens once you reach the 120 day limit.

The essentials for Malaysia citizens: AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, no exit required, two to three working days processing, a 120 day ceiling on total stay, and a five to seven day lead time before expiry. Only the issuing agency can process it.

The meaning of Visa extension for Malaysia passport holders

Unlike a visa change, a Visa extension keeps your existing visa and simply adds 30 days to it. Immigration processes the extension under the original issuer’s account and records the new expiry against your Malaysia passport. You do not leave the country at any point; the approval arrives on WhatsApp while you carry on with your stay.

The exit routes, airport to airport and bus to Oman, issue a brand new visa after you leave; an extension does not require leaving at all. If a Malaysia passport holder is still eligible, the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route, so it is always our first suggestion.

Eligibility for Malaysia passport holders

A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. WhatsApp us your visa copy and we will tell you straight away if an extension is possible for a Malaysia passport or if you need a visa change instead.

  • Visitors on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visit visa who have not yet reached the extension limit.
  • Visitors who have not reached 120 days in the UAE on the current visa.
  • Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.

If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. Arrival stamps and residency visas are not extendable through an agency.

UAE visit visa extension charges for Malaysia citizens

The Visa extension fee is AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, and the price is the same for every nationality, including Malaysia.

  • 30 day extension: AED 1,200
  • 60 day extension: AED 2,400 (two 30 day extensions back to back)

The fee covers the government charge and our processing, and it is not refundable if immigration declines the extension, because the government fee is paid at submission. Fines for overstaying are paid directly to immigration and sit outside the extension price. Compared with the exit routes, the extension is usually the better value for a Malaysia visitor who needs 30 more days, while a new 60 day visa through airport to airport or bus makes more sense when you need the full two months and have no extensions left.

Pay in monthly instalments

UAE residents arranging a Visa extension for a family member or friend from Malaysia can split the AED 1,200 using Tabby with up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable terms, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month plans depending on the issuing bank. Everyone else is sent a secure payment link online. Group applications for a family are processed as one, with the total eligible for instalments.

Documents required for a Visa extension on a Malaysia passport

Because your record already exists with immigration, we only need the following on WhatsApp:

  1. A scan of the passport, valid for a minimum of six months.
  2. One colour passport photo on a plain white background.
  3. Your existing visa PDF, which tells us the entry date, expiry and extension count.

No bank statement, hotel booking or return ticket is required for the extension itself. Immigration may occasionally request an additional document on a case by case basis, and we will tell you immediately if that happens for a Malaysia passport.

The application process step by step

  1. Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 at least five to seven days before your visa expires. We check the expiry date and extension count and confirm eligibility the same day.
  2. Settle the AED 1,200 by secure link or instalments. The application goes to immigration after payment.
  3. We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Malaysia citizens is two to three working days.
  4. We forward the extension PDF on WhatsApp; the new expiry date is on it, so keep it handy.

Do not wait until the last day

An extension is only possible on a live visa, which is why the expiry date is the hard deadline. With two to three working days of processing and no weekend service, a five to seven day lead time protects Malaysia visitors from missing the deadline. Back to back extensions should each be filed a few days before the running expiry, always within the 120 day cap.

No grace period and the AED 50 daily fine

Once a visit visa expires, no extra days are granted. An expired visa attracts AED 50 per day in fines from day one, and the rate is the same everywhere in the UAE. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. Once expired, the visa cannot be extended. You settle the fine and use an exit route, airport to airport or bus, which we organise for Malaysia travellers.

Reaching the 120 day limit

Once a Malaysia visitor has used every extension and reached 120 days, exit is mandatory. The choices are an airport to airport change (AED 1,550, same day, flydubai), the Oman bus route (from AED 1,000, about a day), going home and applying afresh, or moving to a residence visa where a sponsor exists. The two exit routes each provide a fresh 60 day visa whoever issued the first one, and we organise both.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Waiting until expiry day, which leaves no room for processing time.
  • Approaching a different agency. The same agency rule means we can only extend visas we issued; for others, use an exit route.
  • Losing track of cumulative days. The 120 day cap runs from first entry, including every extension.
  • A passport expiring soon. Renew it before applying.
  • Confusing residency or arrival stamps with agency visit visas, which are the only ones we can extend.

Questions Malaysia travellers ask us

Can Malaysia passport holders extend in country?

Yes. Agency issued 30 day and 60 day visit visas can be extended from inside the UAE without leaving, provided you still have extensions remaining, your total stay will not exceed 120 days, and the application goes through the agency that issued the visa.

How much does a Visa extension cost for Malaysia citizens?

AED 1,200 per 30 day extension, the same for every nationality including Malaysia. A two month extension is AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions.

How long does a Visa extension take?

Expect two to three working days for a Malaysia passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.

Can I extend my 30 day visa more than once?

Up to three times for a 30 day visa and twice for a 60 day visa, always within a 120 day ceiling.

Does the same agency rule apply to Malaysia passports?

The same agency rule applies to every nationality, Malaysia included. If we did not issue the visa, we cannot extend it, but we can reset you on a new 60 day visa by air (AED 1,550) or bus (from AED 1,000).

Can I stay a few days after expiry?

There is no grace period. Fines of AED 50 per day begin immediately after expiry, and an exit permit costing roughly AED 250 to 300 is needed if the overstay exceeds 30 days.

Can I extend visas for my family together?

Certainly. We extend the whole family at once, and residents sponsoring Malaysia relatives can pay the combined AED 1,200 per person on an instalment plan.

Can immigration decline an extension?

Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
