Visa extension without exit for Mauritius passport holders

When a Mauritius citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. The fee is AED 1,200 for each 30 day extension, approval normally arrives in two to three working days, and everything is handled on WhatsApp. This page explains who qualifies, what a Mauritius passport holder pays, how many times you can extend, the deadline to apply, and what happens once you reach the 120 day limit.

Short version: AED 1,200 per 30 days, processed in country in two to three working days for Mauritius passports, up to 120 days total. Apply a week before expiry via the agency that issued the original visa.

How an in country UAE visa extension works

A Visa extension is an extension of the current permit; the visa number stays the same and the expiry date moves forward by 30 days. We file the extension through the issuing account, and immigration updates the expiry date on your Mauritius passport record. Nothing physical happens on your side; you continue your visit and we send the approved extension on WhatsApp.

It should not be confused with the airport to airport change or the Oman bus route, which reset you on a new visa after an exit. For eligible Mauritius travellers the extension beats the exit routes on cost, effort and time away.

Who qualifies

A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. We check the position for Mauritius passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.

  • Visitors on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visit visa who have not yet reached the extension limit.
  • Applicants whose total stay, including the new extension, will not exceed 120 days from the original entry date.
  • Visitors whose visa we issued. Immigration processes extensions through the original issuer’s account, so another agency cannot extend a visa we did not issue, and we cannot extend a visa issued elsewhere.

If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. Visas issued on arrival and residence visas cannot be extended through this service.

Mauritius passport Visa extension price

A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Mauritius included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.

  • A single 30 day block: AED 1,200
  • Two month visa extension: AED 2,400, processed as two consecutive 30 day extensions

The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Overstay fines, if any, are paid by the traveller to immigration and are not part of the extension fee. For 30 extra days the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route; for a full 60 days with no extensions remaining, the airport to airport change or the bus route becomes the better buy for Mauritius travellers.

Instalment plans for UAE residents

For UAE residents applying on behalf of Mauritius family or friends, the AED 1,200 can be spread with Tabby up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months according to the bank. All other applicants receive a secure online payment link. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.

Documents required for a Visa extension on a Mauritius passport

The document list for an extension is short, because immigration already holds your details from the original visa. Send these on WhatsApp:

  1. A clear copy of your Mauritius passport, valid for at least six months.
  2. A recent colour photograph, white background, passport dimensions, no glasses.
  3. Your present visa, needed to confirm eligibility and the dates.

You will not be asked for financial documents, a hotel booking or a ticket to extend. Should immigration want anything more for a Mauritius passport, we will contact you on WhatsApp at once.

How to apply for a Visa extension from Mauritius

  1. WhatsApp your documents to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 a week before expiry. We verify the dates and confirm whether a Mauritius passport can be extended.
  2. Pay through the secure link or instalment plan we send. Submission to immigration starts only after payment is received.
  3. The extension is filed and monitored by our team. Expect two to three working days for most Mauritius applicants, subject to immigration’s discretion.
  4. You receive the approved extension as a PDF on WhatsApp showing the new expiry date. Keep it with your passport for the rest of your stay.

Do not wait until the last day

Immigration will not extend a visa that has already lapsed, so the request has to be in before the expiry date. With two to three working days of processing and no weekend service, a five to seven day lead time protects Mauritius visitors from missing the deadline. When chaining extensions, start each one a few days early and count your total days from the original entry.

No grace period and the AED 50 daily fine

Once a visit visa expires, no extra days are granted. Every day beyond expiry costs AED 50, whichever emirate issued the visa, starting immediately. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. After expiry the only option is an exit route; we handle the airport to airport change or the Oman bus for Mauritius passports.

What to do after the maximum extensions

When the extensions are exhausted and 120 days are up, leaving the country is required. From there you have four routes: an airport to airport visa change at AED 1,550 with a same day return by flydubai, a visa change by bus to Oman from AED 1,000 over about one day, returning home and applying for a fresh visa later, or converting to a residence visa if an employer or family sponsor is available. Both exit routes issue a new 60 day tourist visa regardless of which agency issued the original, and we arrange either on WhatsApp.

Common problems for Mauritius applicants and how we prevent them

  • Leaving it to the last day. An expired visa cannot be extended, so allow a week.
  • Approaching a different agency. The same agency rule means we can only extend visas we issued; for others, use an exit route.
  • Forgetting that extensions add to the original stay rather than replacing it.
  • Passport validity under six months. Immigration will not extend a visa on a passport close to expiry.
  • Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.

Mauritius passport Visa extension FAQ

Is extension without exit possible for Mauritius citizens?

Yes, without leaving the country. The conditions are an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa, extensions still available, a total stay under 120 days, and processing through the issuing agency.

What are the UAE visit visa extension fees?

One month costs AED 1,200 and two months cost AED 2,400, issued as two 30 day extensions. The fee does not vary by nationality, so Mauritius passports pay the standard rate.

How long does a Visa extension take?

Usually two to three working days. Because government offices close at weekends, Mauritius travellers should allow five to seven days before the visa expires.

What is the maximum stay?

Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 30 days each. Total stay cannot exceed 120 days from the original entry.

Does the same agency rule apply to Mauritius passports?

Only the issuing agency can extend a visa in country; that is how the immigration system works, not an agency policy. For visas issued elsewhere, ask that agency, or book an exit route with us (airport to airport AED 1,550, bus from AED 1,000) for a fresh 60 day visa.

Is there a grace period after my visa expires?

None. The AED 50 daily fine starts the day after the visa expires, with an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 added after 30 days of overstay.

Can spouse and children extend at the same time?

Certainly. We extend the whole family at once, and residents sponsoring Mauritius relatives can pay the combined AED 1,200 per person on an instalment plan.

What happens if it is not approved?

Rejection is uncommon for eligible applications. Fees are not refunded on refusal, since immigration retains the charge, and the fallback is an exit route before the visa expires. Our pre check is designed to catch problems early.
