When a South Sudan citizen wants more time in the UAE, a Visa extension adds 30 days to the current visit visa from inside the country. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. This page explains who qualifies, what a South Sudan passport holder pays, how many times you can extend, the deadline to apply, and what happens once you reach the 120 day limit.
Quick answer: a Visa extension for a South Sudan passport costs AED 1,200 per 30 days and is processed inside the UAE in two to three working days. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, up to a total stay of 120 days. Apply at least five to seven days before expiry, and note that the extension must be processed by the agency that issued the original visa.

How an in country UAE visa extension works
Unlike a visa change, a Visa extension keeps your existing visa and simply adds 30 days to it. The request goes to immigration under the account that issued the visa, and approval extends the expiry date linked to your South Sudan passport. You do not leave the country at any point; the approval arrives on WhatsApp while you carry on with your stay.
This is different from an airport to airport visa change or a visa change by bus to Oman, both of which involve leaving the UAE and returning on a completely new tourist visa. If a South Sudan passport holder is still eligible, the extension is cheaper and simpler than any exit route, so it is always our first suggestion.
Is a Visa extension available for South Sudan citizens?
A Visa extension is available when the visa type allows it, the extension count has not been exhausted, and the application goes through the original issuer. We check the position for South Sudan passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.
- Anyone on a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa issued by an agency: three extensions for the 30 day visa, two for the 60 day visa, 30 days each time.
- Travellers who will remain within the 120 day ceiling after the extension is added.
- Applicants whose original visa was issued by White Sky Travel. In country extensions can only be processed by the agency that issued the visa, because immigration handles the request through the issuer’s account.
If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. Visas issued on arrival and residence visas cannot be extended through this service.

UAE visit visa extension charges for South Sudan citizens
A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, South Sudan included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.
- A single 30 day block: AED 1,200
- 2 month extension: AED 2,400, issued as two separate 30 day approvals
The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Fines for overstaying are paid directly to immigration and sit outside the extension price. A South Sudan visitor needing 30 days should extend; one needing 60 days after the limit should look at the exit routes.
Payment options
Residents of the UAE booking for South Sudan visitors can use Tabby for up to 12 months, Tamara with extendable repayment, or a UAE credit card with 3, 6, 9 or 12 month terms set by the card issuer. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp. When several family members extend at once, we process them together and the total can be paid on the same plan.
Documents required for a Visa extension on a South Sudan passport
Extensions need less paperwork than a new visa. Message us these three items on WhatsApp:
- Passport copy showing at least six months validity.
- A white background colour photo in passport format, without eyewear.
- A copy of your current UAE visit visa, so we can confirm the issue date, the expiry date and how many extensions have already been used.
You will not be asked for financial documents, a hotel booking or a ticket to extend. In rare cases immigration asks for something extra; if so, we let South Sudan applicants know straight away.
How to apply for a Visa extension from South Sudan
- Share your documents with us on WhatsApp at +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 with at least five to seven days remaining, and we confirm the same day.
- Complete payment through the link or instalment option we provide. We file the extension once payment clears.
- We lodge the application and track it. Approval for South Sudan passports usually takes two to three working days; immigration can sometimes extend this.
- You receive the approved extension as a PDF on WhatsApp showing the new expiry date. Keep it with your passport for the rest of your stay.
When to apply and why the deadline matters
Immigration will not extend a visa that has already lapsed, so the request has to be in before the expiry date. Allow five to seven days: two to three working days for processing, plus a buffer for weekends and holidays. If you plan to extend more than once, apply for the next extension a few days before the current one ends, and keep an eye on the 120 day total.
What happens if you miss the deadline
UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. Anyone who overstays by more than 30 days also needs an exit permit, typically AED 250 to 300, before leaving. An expired visa means a visa change rather than an extension: pay the fine, then exit by air or bus with us and return on a new visa.

Reaching the 120 day limit
The 120 day ceiling is absolute; after it, every South Sudan visitor has to exit. You can fly out and back the same day for AED 1,550, take the Oman bus from AED 1,000, return to South Sudan and reapply, or switch to residency if you have a sponsor. Air or bus, the result is a new 60 day visa, and we book either for South Sudan travellers on WhatsApp.
Why extensions get refused or delayed
- Leaving it to the last day. An expired visa cannot be extended, so allow a week.
- Assuming any agency can extend. Only the issuer can, because immigration routes the request through the issuing account. Check who issued your visa before you plan.
- Losing track of cumulative days. The 120 day cap runs from first entry, including every extension.
- A passport expiring soon. Renew it before applying.
- Applying with an arrival stamp or residency, which cannot be extended through an agency.
Answers for South Sudan citizens
Do I have to leave the UAE to extend?
You can. South Sudan passport holders on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa extend in country as long as extensions remain, the 120 day limit is respected, and the issuing agency files the request.
How much does a Visa extension cost for South Sudan citizens?
The extension fee is AED 1,200 for 30 days and AED 2,400 for 60 days (two back to back extensions), identical for all passports including South Sudan.
What is the processing time?
Expect two to three working days for a South Sudan passport, with a buffer for weekends and holidays.
Can I extend my 30 day visa more than once?
Three extensions on a 30 day visa, two on a 60 day visa, 30 days each. Total stay cannot exceed 120 days from the original entry.
What if my visa came from a different agency?
The same agency rule applies to every nationality, South Sudan included. If we did not issue the visa, we cannot extend it, but we can reset you on a new 60 day visa by air (AED 1,550) or bus (from AED 1,000).
Can I stay a few days after expiry?
No. UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period. A fine of AED 50 per day applies from the day after expiry, and overstays beyond 30 days also require an exit permit of about AED 250 to 300.
Is there a family extension option?
Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.
Can immigration decline an extension?
Very few eligible extensions are refused. If yours is, the government fee cannot be refunded and you would exit via air or bus before the current visa runs out.
