For travellers from Thailand, the Visa extension is the simplest way to stay longer: no airport, no bus, just a 30 day extension processed while you remain in the UAE. Each 30 day extension costs AED 1,200, takes two to three working days in most cases, and is managed entirely through WhatsApp with our team. Below you will find eligibility, pricing for Thailand citizens, the extension limits, the application deadline and your options after 120 days.
Quick answer: a Visa extension for a Thailand passport costs AED 1,200 per 30 days and is processed inside the UAE in two to three working days. A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, up to a total stay of 120 days. Apply at least five to seven days before expiry, and note that the extension must be processed by the agency that issued the original visa.
Planning your Dubai trip? Let White Sky handle it.
We book your attraction tickets, tours, hotels and flights — and you can pay later with Tabby, Tamara or UAE credit-card monthly instalments. Need a UAE tourist visa too? We do that in-house.
Visa extension explained for Thailand travellers
An in country Visa extension extends the visa you already hold rather than issuing a fresh one. Immigration processes the extension under the original issuer’s account and records the new expiry against your Thailand passport. Nothing physical happens on your side; you continue your visit and we send the approved extension on WhatsApp.
It should not be confused with the airport to airport change or the Oman bus route, which reset you on a new visa after an exit. Wherever a Thailand citizen is still within the extension limits, this is the option we recommend before anything else.
Is a Visa extension available for Thailand citizens?
Eligibility for a Visa extension depends on three things: the visa you hold, how many extensions you have already used, and which agency issued the visa. We check the position for Thailand passports on WhatsApp and advise the right route: extension, airport to airport or bus.
- Visitors on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visit visa who have not yet reached the extension limit.
- Anyone whose combined stay stays under 120 days once the extension is counted.
- Those whose visa came from White Sky Travel, since extensions run through the issuing account under immigration rules.
If your visa was issued by a different agency, you have two choices: ask that agency to extend it, or use an exit route with us. An airport to airport visa change costs AED 1,550 and a visa change by bus to Oman starts from AED 1,000, and both give you a fresh 60 day visa regardless of who issued the first one. This service does not cover visa on arrival stamps or residence permits.

How much does a Visa extension cost?
A 30 day extension is AED 1,200 for all passports, Thailand included; there is no nationality based pricing on extensions.
- A single 30 day block: AED 1,200
- Sixty days of extension: AED 2,400, applied as two 30 day steps
The charge covers immigration and processing costs and is not refundable if the extension is refused. Any overstay fine is settled separately with immigration and is not included in the AED 1,200. A Thailand visitor needing 30 days should extend; one needing 60 days after the limit should look at the exit routes.
Spreading the cost
If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Thailand passport, the extension fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp. We extend spouses and children together and apply one instalment plan to the combined fee.
Paperwork for a Visa extension
Because your record already exists with immigration, we only need the following on WhatsApp:
- A clear copy of your Thailand passport, valid for at least six months.
- A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.
- A copy of your current UAE visit visa, so we can confirm the issue date, the expiry date and how many extensions have already been used.
You will not be asked for financial documents, a hotel booking or a ticket to extend. Should immigration want anything more for a Thailand passport, we will contact you on WhatsApp at once.
Getting your extension in four steps
- WhatsApp your documents to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133 a week before expiry. We verify the dates and confirm whether a Thailand passport can be extended.
- Pay through the secure link or instalment plan we send. Submission to immigration starts only after payment is received.
- We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Thailand citizens is two to three working days.
- You receive the approved extension as a PDF on WhatsApp showing the new expiry date. Keep it with your passport for the rest of your stay.
When to apply and why the deadline matters
The extension must be submitted before the current visa expires; an expired visa cannot be extended. Because approval takes two to three working days and government offices close at weekends and on public holidays, Thailand passport holders should message us five to seven days before expiry. If you plan to extend more than once, apply for the next extension a few days before the current one ends, and keep an eye on the 120 day total.
What happens if you miss the deadline
Visitors do not receive any grace days after the expiry date. Every day beyond expiry costs AED 50, whichever emirate issued the visa, starting immediately. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. Once expired, the visa cannot be extended. You settle the fine and use an exit route, airport to airport or bus, which we organise for Thailand travellers.

When extension is no longer possible
The 120 day ceiling is absolute; after it, every Thailand visitor has to exit. You can fly out and back the same day for AED 1,550, take the Oman bus from AED 1,000, return to Thailand and reapply, or switch to residency if you have a sponsor. Both exit routes issue a new 60 day tourist visa regardless of which agency issued the original, and we arrange either on WhatsApp.
Why extensions get refused or delayed
- Applying too late. Extensions cannot be filed after expiry, so contact us five to seven days ahead.
- Approaching a different agency. The same agency rule means we can only extend visas we issued; for others, use an exit route.
- Assuming the clock resets with each extension. It does not; 120 days is the total from entry.
- Less than six months on the passport, which blocks the extension.
- Expecting an on arrival stamp to be extendable. It is not; a visa change is required instead.
Frequently asked questions about Visa extension for Thailand passport
Can I extend my UAE visit visa without exiting on a Thailand passport?
You can. Thailand passport holders on an agency issued 30 or 60 day visa extend in country as long as extensions remain, the 120 day limit is respected, and the issuing agency files the request.
What is the 1 month visa extension price in Dubai?
One month costs AED 1,200 and two months cost AED 2,400, issued as two 30 day extensions. The fee does not vary by nationality, so Thailand passports pay the standard rate.
How long does a Visa extension take?
Usually two to three working days. Because government offices close at weekends, Thailand travellers should allow five to seven days before the visa expires.
Can I extend my 30 day visa more than once?
A 30 day visa can be extended three times and a 60 day visa twice, each by 30 days. The maximum continuous stay on any UAE tourist visa is 120 days, after which exit is mandatory.
Can I extend a visa issued by another agency?
The same agency rule applies to every nationality, Thailand included. If we did not issue the visa, we cannot extend it, but we can reset you on a new 60 day visa by air (AED 1,550) or bus (from AED 1,000).
Can I stay a few days after expiry?
None. The AED 50 daily fine starts the day after the visa expires, with an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 added after 30 days of overstay.
What about family members on Thailand passports?
Yes. Each family member pays AED 1,200 per extension, we file them together, and the total can be spread over instalments for UAE resident sponsors.
Is the fee refundable on rejection?
Immigration can decline at its discretion, though it seldom does for eligible Thailand applicants. The fee is not returned on refusal, and an exit route becomes necessary before expiry.
