Validity, entry and stay rules for Ghana visitors

You have 60 days from the issue date to enter the UAE. The stay period, 30 or 60 days, starts counting from your arrival date. Choose single entry for a straightforward visit, or multiple entry if you plan to hop to Oman, Saudi Arabia or Qatar and come back. Employment is not permitted on a tourist visa.

Overstay rules in 2026

UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit costing about AED 250 to 300 becomes necessary as well. Can Ghana citizens extend the visa?

The 30 day visa allows three extensions of 30 days and the 60 day visa allows two, without leaving the country. The overall ceiling is 120 days of stay. At the 120 day point, a new visa requires an exit, which can be done by an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. Apply for the extension ahead of the expiry date, ideally a week before.

An alternative issued through Sharjah
