The majority of passports require a visa arranged in advance, which is the service described on this page. A limited number of passports receive a visa on arrival at UAE airports, and the list changes from time to time. How much does a Dubai visa cost for Iceland citizens?

The shortest UAE tourist visa is 30 days; there is no shorter tourist visa. Should immigration refuse the application, the fee is not returned, as it covers government processing.
A note on deposits
For a limited set of countries a refundable deposit is requested. The deposit sits apart from the visa fee, is returned after you leave the UAE, and we confirm the amount for Iceland citizens on WhatsApp before booking.

Paperwork for a Dubai visa

- Front page and back cover of the passport, six months validity minimum. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
- A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.

A bank statement covering six months is required for certain passports. Where Iceland citizens are affected, the statement of a family member living in the UAE is accepted. Please also carry a card or some cash, since immigration can ask arriving visitors to show proof of funds.
Guarantor documents
When a UAE resident applies on behalf of a Iceland visitor, we also need the sponsor’s passport copy valid for six months, residence visa page valid for six months, Emirates ID front and back, and the guarantee form completed at applyvisa.app. Where a bank statement is needed, a family sponsor’s statement may be used instead of the applicant’s; this does not extend to friends.

Key dates to remember
You have 60 days from the issue date to enter the UAE. The 30 or 60 day stay is measured from entry, not from issuance. With single entry you may arrive once; multiple entry permits several arrivals within the validity, ideal for regional itineraries that pass through Oman, Saudi Arabia or Qatar. Working on a tourist visa is not allowed.
Overstay rules in 2026
UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. An expired visa attracts AED 50 per day in fines from day one, and the rate is the same everywhere in the UAE. If the overstay passes 30 days, an exit permit of around AED 250 to 300 is required on top of the fines. Visa extension without leaving the UAE
Extensions of 30 days are available three times on a 30 day visa and twice on a 60 day visa, with no exit needed. The maximum total stay is 120 days. Once you reach the maximum, you must exit and re enter, either through an airport to airport visa change or by bus to Oman. Extensions are only accepted before expiry, so message us while you still have a week or more left.
Another route for Iceland passports

Why applications get held up
- Missing passport back cover. Include it with your first message to avoid resubmission.
- Less than six months on the passport. Immigration will not approve the visa in that case.
- Unclear document images. A clean, well lit scan avoids delays.
- Earlier violations or uncancelled visas. Be open with us so we can check the record first.
- A passport with a single name and no document showing a full name, which immigration cannot process.

Refund policy on rejection?
No refund applies on refusal, since immigration retains the processing charge. You can apply again once the problem is addressed.
Can I add my child to the application?
Yes. Minors receive their own visa at the adult price, and we ask for a birth certificate with the usual documents.
Is working permitted?
No. The visa is for visiting only. Taking up work requires an employment visa arranged by a UAE employer.
