Is a Dubai visa required for Uganda citizens?

A prearranged visa is the standard route for most travellers, and it is the product we issue for Uganda passports. Certain passports qualify for visa on arrival, and eligibility rules shift from year to year. If you are unsure whether a Uganda passport falls under visa on arrival or needs a prearranged Dubai visa, send us a photo of the passport on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you pay anything.

What a Dubai visa costs from Dubai

Here is the September 2026 price list for Uganda passport holders:

  • 30 day tourist visa, single entry: AED 450
  • 60 day single entry: AED 650
  • 30 days, multiple entry: AED 800
  • 60 day multiple entry: AED 1,000

Thirty days is the minimum tourist visa length, and nothing shorter exists in this category. All visa fees, including our service fee, are not refundable if immigration rejects the application, because the government charge is paid at submission.

A note on deposits

Certain nationalities may need to place a refundable security deposit. The deposit sits apart from the visa fee, is returned after you leave the UAE, and we confirm the amount for Uganda citizens on WhatsApp before booking.

Pay in monthly instalments

If you live in the UAE and are sponsoring a relative or friend holding a Uganda passport, the fee can be paid through Tabby over up to 12 months, Tamara on extendable terms, or a UAE credit card in 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly instalments subject to your bank. Other travellers pay by a secure online payment link that we send on WhatsApp.

Dubai visa requirements for Uganda passport holders

WhatsApp us the following and expect an eligibility answer within about an hour:

  1. Front page and back cover of the passport, six months validity minimum. Applications are most frequently sent back because the back cover was left out.
  2. A colour passport size photo on a white background, without glasses.
  3. A round trip ticket, which we can also book for you if it is not yet arranged.
  4. A birth certificate for children under 18. Some nationalities must also provide a national ID copy.

Some nationalities may be asked for a six month bank statement, and where that applies to a Uganda passport a UAE based family member’s statement can be submitted on your behalf. Please also carry a card or some cash, since immigration can ask arriving visitors to show proof of funds.

If a UAE resident is sponsoring you

Sponsors based in the UAE send their passport and residence visa copies with six months validity, front and back of the Emirates ID, and complete the guarantee form at applyvisa.app. Where a bank statement is needed, a family sponsor’s statement may be used instead of the applicant’s; this does not extend to friends.

How Uganda citizens apply

  1. Send your documents on WhatsApp to +971 52 292 1011 or +971 4 220 2133. We check them the same day and tell you which visa suits your travel dates.
  2. Make the payment through the link we send. The application goes to immigration as soon as payment clears and documents are approved.
  3. We file with immigration and follow up. Typical turnaround for Uganda citizens is 24 to 72 hours, subject to immigration’s discretion.
  4. You receive the approved visa as a PDF on WhatsApp. Print a copy or keep it on your phone and present it with your passport at check in and on arrival.

Key dates to remember

The visa must be used to enter the UAE within 60 days of the date of issue. Your permitted stay runs from the entry stamp, not from the issue date. Choose single entry for a straightforward visit, or multiple entry if you plan to hop to Oman, Saudi Arabia or Qatar and come back. The visa is for visiting only and does not allow you to take up work.

What happens if you overstay

UAE visit and tourist visas have no grace period after expiry. A fine of AED 50 applies for every day of overstay, the same flat rate across all visa types and emirates, and it starts the day after expiry. Overstays beyond 30 days additionally require an exit permit of roughly AED 250 to 300. Our team messages Uganda visitors on WhatsApp ahead of expiry so there is time to extend or leave.

Staying longer than 30 or 60 days

Thirty day visas may be extended three times by 30 days, and 60 day visas twice by 30 days, all from inside the UAE. Total time in the UAE cannot exceed 120 days. At the 120 day point, a new visa requires an exit, which can be done by an airport to airport change or the bus to Oman. Apply for the extension ahead of the expiry date, ideally a week before.

Another route for Uganda passports

A Sharjah issued 60 day single entry visa is available at AED 1,200 with no security deposit. Holders may move freely across all seven emirates. Ask us on WhatsApp which option is better for a Uganda passport.

Mistakes Uganda applicants should avoid

  • Back cover not sent. It is the most common omission, so attach it from the start.
  • Short passport validity, which leads to refusal.
  • Blurred or cropped photos. Use a clear, full colour scan with all four corners visible.
  • Undisclosed immigration history. Old fines or bans affect approval, so share them with us upfront.
  • A passport with a single name and no document showing a full name, which immigration cannot process.
  • Last minute applications. Give us a minimum of three working days, longer around Eid and the winter peak.

Frequently asked questions about Dubai visa for Uganda passport

How many days until approval?

Typically 24 to 72 hours. Immigration sets the timeline and may ask for more documents, so allow three working days or more before your flight.

What does the 30 day visa cost?

AED 450 single or AED 800 multiple entry. Indian and Filipino rates are AED 400 and AED 750. Deposits, where applicable, are confirmed before payment.

60 day visa fee for Uganda citizens?

AED 650 single or AED 1,000 multiple entry, with the Indian and Filipino tariff at AED 600 and AED 950.

Is a bank statement required for a Uganda passport?

Bank statement requirements vary by nationality. Where one is needed, a family member living in the UAE can provide it. Separately, immigration can ask for proof of funds on arrival. We confirm the position for Uganda citizens on WhatsApp.

Is in country extension possible?

Yes. Extensions of 30 days are available three times on a 30 day visa and twice on a 60 day visa, all from inside the UAE, up to 120 days. Once exhausted, a visa change by air or bus is needed.

What happens if I overstay by a day?

No grace days exist. Overstaying costs AED 50 per day from day one, plus an exit permit of approximately AED 250 to 300 once the overstay passes 30 days.

Is the visa fee refundable if my application is rejected?

Fees are not refunded on rejection, as the government charge is paid when the application is lodged. A fresh application can be made once the issue is resolved.

Can I add my child to the application?

Yes. Minors receive their own visa at the adult price, and we ask for a birth certificate with the usual documents.

Can I work in the UAE on a Dubai visa?

No. A tourist visa does not permit employment. You may attend interviews and visit, but working requires a residence visa sponsored by an employer.
